Chapter 395: Chapter 394: Slay
HISSSSSSS...
The instant the Fire Spirit Black Obsidian came into contact with the green mist, a series of hisses erupted. Black smoke billowed up, accompanied by a foul, scorching stench that quickly filled the surrounding air. Before the Fire Spirit Black Obsidian, the green mist was like snow under a blazing sun, instantly dissipating.
"What!" Watching the green mist flee like a defeated army, Elder Xue’s face was filled with disbelief. He had discovered this green mist by chance in an ancient tomb. It was sinister to the extreme, capable of devouring the life force of others for its own use. Its targets weren’t limited to human Martial Artists; any plant, Spirit Beast, or even the ambient Energy of the world could become its food, as long as it was abundant. Even flames were no exception!
Yet now, Shen Haoran’s pitch-black flames were actually making his green mist so terrified. It was utterly shocking. However, as Elder Xue stared at the black flames radiating scorching heat, something suddenly clicked. He cried out in alarm, "Fire Spirit Black Obsidian! That’s Fire Spirit Black Obsidian!"
Elder Xue had a sudden realization. The only thing in this world that could frighten his green mist was likely the supremely yang and unyielding Fire Spirit Black Obsidian. He just never imagined Shen Haoran had actually refined it!
With a mere thought, Elder Xue rapidly retracted the green mist back into his body. This mist was the very source of his power. If Shen Haoran burned it all away, it would be equivalent to taking half his life.
However, while Elder Xue wanted to evade the brunt of Shen Haoran’s Fire Spirit Black Obsidian, Shen Haoran gave him no such chance. With a flick of his will, the Fire Spirit Black Obsidian surging from his body transformed into countless Fire Dragons. They shot out like lightning, caught up to the green mist, and began to burn it with abandon!
"You damn brat, if you dare touch my things again, believe me, I’ll kill you right now!" Seeing the Fire Dragons relentlessly devouring his green mist, Elder Xue roared in a flustered rage.
"Is that so? Come and try if you’ve got the guts!" A cold sneer formed on Shen Haoran’s lips. Not only did he not stop, he made the Fire Dragons accelerate their devouring speed!
And just like that, the tables had turned. Originally, Shen Haoran had been trying to break free from Elder Xue’s grasp, but now it was Elder Xue desperate to escape Shen Haoran’s. However, Shen Haoran’s strength was in no way inferior to Elder Xue’s. His hands bound the Elder tightly as the Fire Spirit Black Obsidian quickly enveloped him.
As his entire body was roasted by the Fire Spirit Black Obsidian, the green mist around Elder Xue grew thinner and thinner. His body began to wither; the bulging muscles slowly deflated, the deep wrinkles on his face reappeared, and his snow-white hair fell out in large clumps. He looked as if he had aged several decades in an instant!
Staring at the Fire Spirit Black Obsidian that continued to roast his body, a vicious resolve flashed in Elder Xue’s heart. He surged the Spiritual Power in his body, causing it to detonate directly in his arms. In an instant, Elder Xue’s arms vanished, and blood gushed out as if it were free. To break free from Shen Haoran’s grip, Elder Xue had actually severed his own arms.
In truth, this was the best method Elder Xue could think of. If this continued, he wouldn’t just be losing his two arms—he’d be losing his life!
The powerful blast from Elder Xue self-detonating his arms also forced Shen Haoran back, and the Elder successfully escaped Shen Haoran’s Demon Claw.
After breaking free from Shen Haoran, Elder Xue shot him a terrified glance, then turned without a second thought and bolted toward the edge of the dense forest. He could no longer care about face or dignity. He now deeply regretted accepting this mission. A useless Tier Two Spirit Marquis? A greenhorn with no background or power? This was simply a Demon!
Elder Xue was now moving at the fastest speed he had ever achieved in his life. His only thought was to get away from the Demon that was Shen Haoran.
Behind him, Shen Haoran watched the fleeing Elder Xue. A dragon’s shadow flickered beneath his feet as his figure shot forward like lightning in pursuit. ’This is an Elder of Fallen Valley. If I let him return alive, my troubles will be endless. Therefore, Elder Xue must die!’
Shen Haoran’s speed was incredible. With his foundation greatly damaged, Elder Xue was no match for him. Within a few breaths, Shen Haoran had caught up and stomped him to the ground.
"Please, spare me! I was only following orders!" Looking up at Shen Haoran looming over him, Elder Xue immediately begged.
"Spare you? If I were the one lying here today, would you have spared me? Since you intended to kill me, you should have expected this day would come!" Shen Haoran’s voice was devoid of all emotion.
"I... I... Then let’s die together!" Elder Xue’s face, once twisted in misery, suddenly became ferocious. He roared at Shen Haoran as the Spiritual Power within him began to turn violent. He was going to self-destruct!
Sensing the rampaging Spiritual Power in Elder Xue’s body, Shen Haoran stomped down hard. A tyrannical force passed directly through the Elder’s body and struck his Dantian. In an instant, the small world within Elder Xue’s Dantian was destroyed. The rampaging Spiritual Power immediately dissipated, seeping out from the pores of his body. Meanwhile, the chaotic Energy wreaked havoc inside him, rupturing his organs and extinguishing his life in a heartbeat.
Shen Haoran glanced coolly at the lifeless Elder Xue, his eyes holding not a trace of pity. He never showed mercy to those who wanted to take his life. ’Mercy for an enemy is cruelty to oneself. This world is one where the strong devour the weak. It’s either you die, or I live. And the one who lives will definitely be me!’
After slaying Elder Xue, Shen Haoran headed for Divine Martial City. As for Elder Xue’s corpse, there was no need to deal with it. The dense forest was teeming with Spirit Beasts; within a day, not even bones would be left to find.
Shen Haoran didn’t rest for a single day after that. Two days later, he finally arrived at Divine Martial City. The moment he entered, he raced toward the Celestial Martial Auction House.
At this moment, inside the Celestial Martial Auction House, Murong Wanqing and Luo Xiaowen were sitting around a table, both with their brows tightly furrowed as if troubled by something.
"That Ouyang Shaoyu moves too fast. He actually kidnapped Brother Han Xu when we weren’t looking!" Murong Wanqing said in a low voice.
"I know. Little Brother Haoran isn’t back yet, and we haven’t told Han Xu the specific plan. What are we going to do if this goes on?" Luo Xiaowen was also at a loss for a moment.
"All we can do now is wait for Brother Haoran to come back," Murong Wanqing said, her voice laced with worry. "But it’s been so long. The Divine Martial Realm must have closed by now, right? Why hasn’t Brother Haoran appeared yet?"
"Were you thinking of me?" Just as Murong Wanqing’s voice fell, a voice sounded from outside the door, and a young man dressed in black martial attire pushed his way in!
"Brother Haoran..."
