Chapter 2401: Chapter 2409: You Did Great
"You! You! You!" The middle-aged rich woman was nearly breathless with anger, "This is a matter of the Miller Family; it’s none of your business! Are you Jane Sampson? Hand over the child to me, or I’ll make sure you can’t get away with it!"
Jane Sampson was just about to open her mouth to ridicule this old witch and ask her what she planned to do. Suddenly, a middle-aged bald man, huffing and puffing as though he were several months pregnant, hurried over.
"You stupid woman, hurry and come home with me. Stop making a fool of yourself here!" The man furiously cursed, lifting his hand to quickly slap the middle-aged rich woman’s face to stop her from saying anything she shouldn’t. Then he pulled her all the way to the hotel’s exit.
Following that, the sound of bickering and hitting between the woman and middle-aged man could be heard as they seemed to fight right at the doorway after leaving.
"What on earth is the story behind the Miller Family? How can an old woman from the Miller Family be so arrogant?" A guest from outside the region whispered.
"Little Jane, you did great!" Suddenly, someone by the side loudly shouted to Jane Sampson, "James Carter, you did great too!"
Then, not sure who started it, people began to clap, and soon, the large hall was filled with applause.
"We mustn’t let those poor children fall into the hands of the Miller Family; that old witch will ruin their lives." A concerned bystander said, "If you need us, just shout on Twitter, and we’ll definitely step up together to help those two children!"
Feeling shy after being praised by everyone, Jane Sampson quickly dragged James Carter away.
After sitting down in a private room in the dining hall, Jane Sampson asked James Carter, "Brother, why did you come downstairs alone?"
"Didn’t I bring someone with me? How is it just me going downstairs?" James Carter asked, finding it infinitely amusing.
"I mean, why didn’t you let me know before heading downstairs to confront that old witch from the Miller Family?" Although knowing James Carter deliberately misunderstood her, Jane Sampson rephrased her question.
"Because I knew you wouldn’t look for me, so I came down first to see that lady’s combat power." In fact, James Carter wasn’t unprepared when he went downstairs.
If that middle-aged man hadn’t shown up to take the woman away, it wouldn’t be long before police officers came to take that middle-aged woman away for causing a disturbance.
James Carter didn’t want her to stay in the large hall to encounter Jane Sampson.
He just didn’t expect Jane Sampson to come down so quickly.
"Brother, you’re too gentlemanly; dealing with such an old witch requires my way, rolling up sleeves and being fiercer than her. When I encountered the neighbor’s wolf-dog in the courtyard as a child, I did this, like waving an onion before him, and he’d run away." Jane Sampson waved her little fist.
James Carter surprisingly didn’t know Jane Sampson had so many curse words.
In just a few words, she switched from ’witch’ to ’old witch.’
"I’m a bit curious about that Mediterranean uncle, what’s his story? He seems somewhat afraid of little Jane and Mr. Carter. When he was cursing that woman, his eyes kept glancing toward little Jane and Mr. Carter. Later, when he was dragging the woman away, he kept turning back to look at you two." Harry Little Money said.
"I think I understand the reason for his baldness," Jane Sampson earnestly analyzed, "Probably because he’s the Miller Family’s peak of intelligence, clever to the point of baldness."
