Chapter 727: Chapter 484 Patch and the Second Match_2

I don’t know if it was because last time people were allowed to choose their factions, leading many to start teaming up, so this time the faction selection was randomly assigned.

Perhaps because the number of participants had significantly decreased, this round’s estate game field was set within a manor.

As the game began, over half of the two hundred or so people standing in the field suddenly disappeared. Once those assigned to the evaders’ faction vanished, those who remained started to form teams.

Zachary this time was assigned to the pursuers’ faction. Although it was clear that his physical abilities would be suppressed and using personal equipment was not allowed, Zachary didn’t pay too much attention to these limitations.

With the experience from last time, he knew that evaders would be directly eliminated if caught, but pursuers, even if they failed to capture anyone, should still have a chance to switch identities. This meant that a single mistake wouldn’t result in immediate elimination for the pursuers, so they could face the upcoming game with a normal state of mind.

Seeing Zachary all alone, actually quite a few teams invited him to join them. But when Zachary asked about the distribution of rewards for finding and successfully capturing the hiders,

no matter how many people assisted in capturing the hiders, only the person who submitted the task would receive the reward. Zachary wasn’t against forming a team,

but those teams that approached him either adopted a distribution mode where the team leader had the final say or they didn’t consider the effort contributed, giving turns to submit tasks based on the order of joining the team.

This so-called fair distribution method was only slightly less awful than autocratic allocation.

It seemed very fair to take turns, one person at a time, but in reality, it was the most unfair of all.

In a smaller team, such a distribution method might not be too bad. After all, with fewer people, capturing three to five individuals would ensure at least a minimal reward for everyone.

But for a large team, the seemingly fair, one-person-at-a-time distribution could make it feel like death might come before one’s turn ever arrives.

Zachary wasn’t some naive young graduate, obviously not about to buy into the false promises those people painted, so he declined all such invitations with a smile and a polite refusal.

As the time was about to expire and the game was about to begin, Zachary surveyed his surroundings and noticed that the vast majority of survivors had formed into teams of various sizes. Only a very small number of people had chosen, like Zachary, to operate solo.

When the game started, Zachary and all the other pursuers appeared outside the main gate of the manor.

Seeing the main gate of the manor, Zachary had a sense of déjà vu. As the countdown ended, those who had been confined by invisible objects immediately regained their full range of motion.

Zachary had thought that those fellows, once free from their constraints, would keep a low profile, but to his surprise, no sooner had the shackles binding their bodies been removed than they rushed eagerly into the manor.

Zachary was considering whether to divide the large manor into search areas for everyone, and after completing their assigned sections, if there was time, they could move to search in other areas previously covered by others.

As the crowd dashed into the open gate of the manor, many were influenced by their haste and rushed in as well.

Once the bulk of the people had left, Zachary saw that only a few ’Lone Wolves’ who shared his line of thinking remained in the now sparsely populated square.

No sooner had Zachary stepped one foot onto the grounds of the manor than he immediately retracted it before even lifting his other foot.

The others, curious about why Zachary, who was lingering at the entrance, didn’t go in, didn’t realize that

the moment his foot crossed the threshold of the manor’s gate, he suddenly detected four Shock Bombs hanging at his waist.

At this moment, the four Shock Bombs hanging on his body weren’t the props distributed to him after he became a pursuer in the last game? Although Dong Tianyu had initially experimented with one, he subsequently opted for a violent disassembly mode, which is why the remaining Shock Bombs were all spared.

He had thought that after the last round of the game ended, these Shock Bombs would be confiscated. Surprisingly, they were inherited into this round of the game.

When Dong Tianyu realized the Shock Bombs were on him, he subconsciously looked back at the few people still outside before a thought suddenly sprang to mind.

That’s when he retracted his foot that had already stepped through the gate. When he saw that everyone’s attention was turned to him, Dong Tianyu wasn’t shy. Instead, he shouted to them, "Guys, I’ve discovered something here, I need your help over here."

The ’Lone Wolves’ who were standing outside, upon hearing Dong Tianyu’s call, hesitated for a moment, exchanged glances, and then unanimously headed towards the gate where Dong Tianyu was.

Upon discovering the Shock Bombs on him, Dong Tianyu quietly took one off and held it behind his back with one hand while he greeted the others with the other hand.

When these people approached with puzzled faces, Dong Tianyu silently pulled the pin from the Shock Bomb and, after mentally counting to three, he threw the Shock Bomb in his hand into the air.

The moment the Shock Bomb left Dong Tianyu’s hand, and everyone’s gaze followed it, Dong Tianyu’s figure flickered, and he quickly left the spot.

Before Dong Tianyu had gone far and the sound of the Shock Bomb exploding was heard, he immediately turned to look back at the site of the explosion.

After detonation, the Shock Bomb didn’t cause irreversible damage to the surroundings like other bombs would.

Once the Shock Bomb exploded, it produced a peculiar type of infrasound wave. When a person’s body came into contact with these waves, they would at least feel discomfort, and at worst, fall into unconsciousness. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Thus, the wider the area, the larger the impact radius of the shockwave generated by the Shock Bomb’s explosion, but the weaker its effect.

However, if the scenario were shifted to a more confined space, the effect of the Shock Bomb would be significantly stronger.

At this point, the Lone Wolves who had been summoned by Dong Tianyu, when they saw the Shock Bomb suddenly thrown by him, showed expressions of shock on their faces.

Before they could react, the Shock Bomb that had just left Dong Tianyu’s hand exploded instantly. Those who were close to it suddenly felt their bodies uncontrollably collapse to the ground.

Just as Dong Tianyu was about to approach and check on those people, he had not yet reached them when a figure suddenly dropped from the roof beam.

Seeing this, Dong Tianyu immediately guessed the beginning and end of the incident. It seemed that kid wanted to steal a chicken; while Dong Tianyu and the others rushed into the manor, he could leisurely wait on the beam for the game to end.

But what he had not expected was that Dong Tianyu would test with a Shock Bomb at the entrance of the manor, to see if the pursuer left behind was a real pursuer or just one of those self-righteous evaders who thought everyone else was a fool.

While watching videos previously, Dong Tianyu saw those evaders who would mingle among the pursuers, planning to backstab them and suddenly had the urge to give it a try.

That led to the series of actions Dong Tianyu just took. He hadn’t expected that his sudden attack would actually find him an unlucky soul.

Talk about being unlucky for that guy; if it weren’t for Dong Tianyu detonating the Shock Bomb in the pavilion, he wouldn’t have been affected like this and exposed himself.

Apart from this unexpected gain, Dong Tianyu also truly captured those evaders who had turned into pursuers.

Dong Tianyu never would have thought that his mischievous attempt would inadvertently eliminate all the evaders lurking outside.
