Chapter 627: Chapter 435 Rescue_2

Compared to the cavalry troopers of flesh and blood, the members of the Motorbike Hunting Team were far superior in every aspect.

Moreover, Zachary noticed that when they were initially approaching, they came close to each other and somehow managed to form a battle array. Zachary had never thought it possible to create a combat formation with motorbikes.

Actually, Zachary was quite skeptical, but had it not been for the fact that the opponents managed to break through the encirclement and fire a flare amid the Skeleton Army, Zachary would have never imagined that cavalry formations could be manipulated in such a manner.

Everyone knew that cavalry possess great charging capabilities, yet their weaknesses were also very clear—should they fail to break through during a charge and become surrounded by the enemy, then that squad of cavalry would be rendered useless.

Regrettably, these survivors were not the tragically heroic cavalry seen in TV dramas; they were more like teenagers out on an excursion, completely lacking the tension of combat and charging into formation with excitement and laughter.

As the first motorbike neared the Skeleton Army, a massive blade light cleaved the Skeleton Army in two. Before the undisturbed skeletons could react, the leading motorbike followed the path carved out by the blade light and burst into the middle of the army at the road junction.

With the path opened by the blade light, the motorbikes shifted their formation from an arrowhead to a single file line.

When the motorbikes plunged into the Skeleton Army, the riders dared to let go of the handlebars and wielded a weapon in each hand, spraying the skeletons on both sides.

As the Motorbike Team pierced through the Skeleton Army, they did not just manage to avoid any casualties; half of them still held weapons in both hands, controlling the bikes without their hands during the charge.

After dividing the Skeleton Army into two separate groups, the motorbikes made a turn and prepared to charge again.

Seeing this, the Wizard Wraiths hiding in the necromancer tower were certainly not going to allow the Motorbike Team to successfully charge again.

As the motorbikes approached the Skeleton Army preparing for another charge, a bone wall suddenly rose from the ground, covered with skeletal hands.

Seeing the situation, the captain of the Motorbike Team would have to be foolish to continue slamming into the bone wall head-on.

Motorbikes, unlike cars, offer significant maneuverability—if one has the strength, they can control a motorbike to perform actions unfathomable to the average person.

Just as the lead scouts were preparing to turn and bypass the bone wall, two more bone walls suddenly rose from other directions. At first, Zachary didn’t feel anything amiss.

But when the three bone walls completely rose, they formed a U-shaped pocket formation. Looking back at his companions, a surge of valor filled him. Seeing that it was difficult to turn around, it was better to muster the courage to charge forward recklessly; there might still be a chance for survival.

Just as the lead motorbike rider thought, the ones trapped saw that the Motorbike Hunting Team, who had just rescued them, had fallen into such peril. They decided to focus their firepower and destroy the bone wall from the back.

As the motorbike rider entered the bone wall, intending to stop and find a solution, the front bone wall shattered as if it were hit by an external force.

However, at that moment, the motorbike rider could not concern himself with the reason for the bone wall’s collapse. Taking advantage of the fallen wall, he rose to his feet, lifted the front of the bike, and using an unknown pedal, flew right through the rubble of the wall.

When other motorbike riders arrived at the area, they replicated the lead rider’s demonstration, each managing to leap across successfully.

Although they had previously encountered a sudden bone wall, with the experience from before, the lead motorbike rider prepared for another charge. If the previous charges were meant to carve a path through the Skeleton Army, this time their goal was to rescue the trapped members of the Hunting Team.

However, although the rescue had only just begun in earnest, the repeated charges had already greatly reduced the defensive pressure on those trapped.

Watching the motorbikes charge repeatedly into the Skeleton Army, the Wizard Wraiths hidden in the necromancer tower were becoming impatient.

As the motorbikes charged once again into the Skeleton Army, preparing to rescue the trapped Hunting Team, the Wizard Wraiths made use of the necromancer tower to reveal their trump card: a forest of bones.

As the Wizard Wraiths concluded their spellcasting, bone spikes unexpectedly burst through the ground where the Skeleton Army had been standing. These bone spikes, as they grew, would rapidly assimilate any bones they touched, transforming them into nourishment for their own growth.

Initially, these bone spikes directly absorbed the skeletons that the Motorbike Team had killed during their charge. The bikers were only focusing on making the charge, and they were surrounded by skeletons ready to pounce and attack at any moment.

Therefore, there wasn’t enough time for a follow-up strike, resulting in a relatively small number of skeletons actually being slain despite several charges.

Just as the injured skeletons were complaining and seeking healing, tiny bone spikes began to pierce through the soil. After absorbing enough nourishment, these small spikes started to grow rapidly.

After absorbing the bones scattered on the ground, the small spikes shot up in size, changing visibly from one second to the next.

Since the small bone spikes had a wide coverage area, the Motorbike Team members were shocked to discover that some had even penetrated their bike tires.

Given the rough terrain, they had switched to solid tires. Initially, they didn’t pay much attention to the small spikes in the tires, thinking to save their comrades first and deal with the tire spikes later, once they found a safe location.

But things didn’t go as planned. Somehow the ground spikes had grown, and a few had even imperceptibly lodged themselves into the metallic frames of the tires.

In the beginning, the immense driving force of the bikes meant that even if the bone spikes had inadvertently buried themselves deep inside the wheel.

Even when spikes penetrated the wheel hubs, the momentum was so great that those embedded in the hubs were simply snapped off.

However, although the bone spikes didn’t stop the bikes, the entire team’s speed had, unknowingly, decreased.

When they realized they were only a few steps away from the besieged Hunting Team, everyone tensed up.

It was only then that they noticed the previously small, thin spikes had become thick and robust.

Looking around unconsciously, they only now realized that the Skeleton Army, which they had decimated just moments before, seemed to have reformed, as if it were an endless horde, encircling them.

"Guys, it’s time for us to get moving and stretch our muscles."

As Dong Tianyu’s words fell, the other bikers stepped down from their rides and casually pulled out their weapons from the side of the bike seats. They were just about to move in to rescue people when,

they saw several enormous bone spikes suddenly impale their beloved bikes, leaving them in scrap condition. The riders felt a surge of boundless anger well up inside them.

Seeing their bikes destroyed, they were deeply pained and, fueled by rage, they charged into the midst of the Skeleton Army, recklessly engaging in combat.

After all, the Skeleton Army’s combat effectiveness was indeed lackluster. Were it not for the Wizard Wraiths’ support, the undead on the battlefield would have been eradicated long ago.

So, seeing his teammates venting their fury on their own, the leader of the Motorbike Hunting Team held back from rebuking them and instead glanced over at the surrounded survivors.

After pondering for a moment, he decided to meet up with them first and then figure out a way to rescue them.

The survivors showed a strange, inscrutable smile as they saw only one person approaching.

The Motorbike Team captain saw the sinister smiles on the faces of those few people and felt a sudden unease in his heart.
