Chapter 625: Chapter 434: The Fleeing Wizard Wraiths_2

By the time Dong Tianyu had sent all the Wraiths into the Cave, the position of the Skeleton Army was already not far from him.

Looking at the skeletons right before his eyes, Dong Tianyu didn’t think of retreating for a strategic shift, and directly used his Spirit Power to stimulate the Flying Swords by his side.

Unlike the practice swords he had used to slay the Zombies, Dong Tianyu’s regularly used pair of Flying Swords, although one was often used for Sword Flight and the other for regular attacks, had been refined and recast using high-grade ore after their initial forging, elevating their quality to be close to that of top-tier Magic Artifacts.

Dong Tianyu did not employ the Flying Sword he was standing on; he was using the other one, which he normally used for attacks.

This time, the Flying Sword did not charge into the Skeleton Army for close combat like the common ones did earlier. Instead, propelled by Spirit Power, it fired off slashes of Sword Qi one after another.

As this Sword Qi flew past the Skeleton Army, it sliced the skeletons in half at the waist. The Black Warriors, who were rich in combat experience and hiding within the ranks, immediately lay down on the ground decisively as the Sword Qi neared, easily dodging its assault.

With the Sword Qi gone, the advancing Skeleton Army instantly froze, then all the skeletons broke in half at the waist.

If this had happened to ordinary beings, it would be the most painful of bisecting deaths. Although they would not die instantly, the prolonged time before death would bring endless agony, and in the end, they would still die.

However, such injuries on the skeletons were insignificant. Even if their entire spinal column was shattered into fragments, as long as they had enough time, the bones in the skeletons would grow back again.

But Dong Tianyu would not give the enemy time to recover. Due to the Sword Qi, the Skeleton Army had been bisected at the waist, and they were now completely incapacitated from advancing any further.

After confirming the results, Dong Tianyu took the initiative to approach the bisected skeletons and opened the transmission portal leading to the Cave. Like sweeping trash, he sent the skeletons severed into halves, along with the Zombies’ bodies, into the portal heading to the Cave.

Some Black Warriors, either scared by the recent attack or looking for an opportunity to counterattack, did not resist while being sent through the transmission portal. Along with the skeletons and the Zombies, they were ushered into a separate area that Dong Tianyu had specially set up within the Cave.

The remaining Black Warriors, upon Dong Tianyu’s approach, directly attempted to ambush him and even decisively used their ace skills, going for a do-or-die strike.

Despite being clad in black Armor, and deceiving appearances of the Black Warriors’ black Armor being strong defensively, their Armor was not made of actual metal but was special equipment condensed from the power of the Undead.

When the Black Warriors went for a do-or-die strike, they would instantly drain the Undead power originally contained in their black Armor, then channel it into their weapons, enhancing the lethality and, due to the heavy infusion of Undead power, not only would the weapon cause the target’s wounds to become infected with it but it also had a certain chance of causing instant death.

Faced with the ambush of the Black Warriors, Dong Tianyu simply shifted the entrance of the transmission portal in front of him. The Black Warriors, who had burst forth in a desperate charge, hadn’t even reacted before they plunged headfirst into the portal.

When Dong Tianyu had finished clearing the Undead Creatures around him and was preparing to deal with the Wizard Wraiths,

he was surprised to find that not only had the Wizard Wraiths near the sorcery tower vanished but also the constructed tower itself, along with the green gemstone and the Wizard Wraiths, had disappeared.

Initially thinking it might be a trap set by the Wizard Wraiths, Dong Tianyu scanned with his Divine Sense to no avail. He found no traces of a potential trap, and the figure of the Wizard Wraiths had completely disappeared from the range of his Divine Sense.

After repeatedly confirming several times, Dong Tianyu finally approached the Ling Tower. Perhaps due to the disappearance of the gemstone at the top of the tower, the dense death aura that used to surround the Ling Tower had dissipated quite a bit, but the barren ground still showed no signs of life.

Looking at the Ling Tower, which had lost its gemstone, Dong Tianyu grew curious. He first tried to perform a three-dimensional scan with his Divine Sense. Through the scanning of his Divine Sense, the structure of the Ling Tower resembled the campfires often used in the wilderness, only much larger in size and with a designated spot on top for placing a gemstone.

Although Dong Tianyu had clearly investigated the structure of the Ling Tower with his Divine Sense, he couldn’t bring himself to believe the results of this exploration, nor was he willing to accept that it was true. After all, a building capable of connecting with the plane of the Undead and amplifying Undead Spells—in Dong Tianyu’s mind, its construction simply couldn’t be that straightforward.

However, when Dong Tianyu personally dismantled the Ling Tower, he found that, just like his Divine Sense had analyzed, the true structure of the tower was indeed that simple, and there were no magical formations inscribed on its body.

It was as if the Ling Tower served only as a base for that green gemstone in the sky above it, and had no substantial function of its own.

In frustration, Dong Tianyu took the Ling Tower into his Cave, then directly disassembled it, wanting to find out what distinguished the Ling Tower from ordinary wooden structures.

Regrettably, even after being broken down in the Cave, the Ling Tower differed from ordinary wooden structures only in that it contained some Undead power; there were no other differences whatsoever.

But on second thought, it actually made sense. After all, the constructors of the Ling Tower were Skeletons and other low-level Undead with limited intelligence. If the method of construction had been too complex, those unintelligent low-level Undead wouldn’t have been able to build it at all.

Realizing this, Dong Tianyu became even more curious about the gemstone that had once been at the top of the Ling Tower. It seemed that the special effects of the Ling Tower were likely all related to that gemstone.

Casually taking the half-built Ling Tower into the Cave to disassemble it, he found that just like the one that was just brought into the space, the wooden structure only served the purpose of a base.

After cleaning up the battlefield, Dong Tianyu looked at the land, barren and dry with grayish white soil contrasting strikingly with the lush greenery of the surrounding forest.

It was like a dense head of hair suddenly afflicted with a bald spot. Even though the surrounding hair was thick, the bald area was still an eyesore.

With no suitable method to handle this situation, Dong Tianyu left it as is, to be healed by time for the problems it left behind.

At that moment, in the separate space within the Cave that Dong Tianyu had partitioned off, the Zombies whose heads had been detached started to come back to life bit by bit as their heads and bodies successfully reattached after Dong Tianyu had placed the Zombie bodies inside.

The Skeletons were the same. Since Dong Tianyu had simply bisected them with his Sword Qi without taking any further action, their recovery was very straightforward.

The Wraiths and Black Warriors that were brought in were even uninjured. Once these Undead Creatures killed all the animals Dong Tianyu had originally kept here for experiments, all the Undead Creatures fell into a state of stillness, standing motionless as if they were statues.

Seeing this, Dong Tianyu grabbed a chicken from the ranch and threw it into the Realm of the Undead.

Before the chicken could even land, those Undead Creatures, which had previously stood like statues, instantly focused their gazes on the falling chicken from the sky.

Perhaps sensing the cold gaze of the Undead Creatures on the ground, the chicken desperately flapped its wings in midair, trying to stay away from the Undead Creatures below.

But before the chicken could flap a few times, several Wraiths floated into the air and directly tore the soul of the chicken into pieces, swallowing it into their bellies.
