Chapter 617: Chapter 430: The Hexagonal Prism and the Six Kinds of Undead_2

Though many people verbally advocate for the betterment of all humanity, when it comes down to making a choice, they inevitably opt to concentrate all power within themselves, insisting that if they abstain from beef, the whole world must follow suit.

In Kyoto City, although undead appeared at night, these were newly spawned undead. On average, apart from killing and absorbing the souls of their own families, they didn’t cause much impact on the outside world.

Many undead creatures were discovered by others just as they left their homes. Though their original owner’s skeletal bodies were strong, one must not forget that they were in Kyoto, a place rife with powerful figures.

No sooner did many skeletons appear than they were slain by people. Therefore, despite some disturbance in Kyoto City, the skeletons didn’t stir up too much trouble.

Fortunately, with this experience, the survivors in China should have heard the broadcasts from Kyoto and will be vigilant for wounds inflicted by skeletons on those around them. If detected, they are instructed to promptly contact the nearest Patrol Office, which will handle the situation properly.

Zachary scanned the city with his Divine Sense, and aside from those houses made with special metals that were highly confidential, the other areas that could be scanned were essentially cleared of the trouble-causing skeletons, with Patrol Office members and specialists handling the cleanup of traces left by the battle.

Seeing the situation in the city, Dong Tianyu smiled wryly and chose not to say more, though somewhat resigned to the current state of affairs.

While everyone’s attention was focused on the city, the skeletons in the wilderness, for some unknown reason, began to act erratically, moving chaotically on the spot as if afflicted with madness.

As they shook, a hexagram faintly appeared on the ground, with a cylindrical object resembling a many-faced mirror at its center, the hexagonal surfaces of the cylinder clearly visible.

At first glance, the pillar at the core of the hexagram exuded a deeply mysterious aura.

When the hexagram vanished, what remained on the ground was a totem-like object. As the night truly fell, beams of light simultaneously shot out from the six smooth surfaces of the cylinder.

And where those beams of light touched down, a portal in space formed, from which a ceaseless stream of various sorts of undead creatures began to emerge.

Among them were skeletal beings of greatly varying strength from the Netherworld, judging by the Soul Flames flickering in their eye sockets. If Zachary were asked about the combat prowess of these skeletons, he would undoubtedly dismiss them as weaklings.

Beyond the skeletal creatures, the next most numerous were Zombies and zombies—these two types of undead creatures, though generally possessing stronger defenses than similarly ranked skeletons, suffer from an inherent weakness in speed.

The third portal released Wraiths, beings with an extremely high resistance to physical damage. Many purely physical attacks do little to no effective damage to them.

Just as "old daddy" stated in the adventure tales, only magic can defeat magic. To slay a Wraith, one must rely on the power of magic.

Of course, at this point in time, whether it’s magic or Martial Arts, each has its unique methods and dealing damage to Wraiths is a relatively simple task.

Emerging from the fourth portal were creatures in tattered clothing, bearing a striking resemblance to humans. Seeing their slightly pointed ears, Zachary would certainly not mistake them for elves.

If they’re not elves, with pointed ears and canine teeth, and being part of the undead, then one could be sure without a doubt that these are Vampires.

These Vampires, unlike those donning opulent attire and noble titles, resembled refugees in tumult—wearing ragged clothes and displaying numb expressions.

Were it not for the pairs of fangs protruding from their upper and lower lips, it would be difficult for anyone to associate these ’refugees’ with Vampires.

When the fifth gate opened, a fully armed squad carrying longswords strode out from the space portal.

They were warriors enveloped in black Armor, even their helmets being full-coverage, protecting the entire head securely.

If one didn’t know in advance that there were undead within, it would be impossible for anyone to guess that there really was an undead inside.

This full set of armor was pricey, and even in a wealthy place like Kyoto, the number of people who could afford it was relatively scarce.

It was said that this type of undead had extensive combat experience, and there were even rumors that the corpses of the dead were stored inside that armor.

The armor would absorb the combat experience of the body within, and then provide it back to the wearer of the black armor.

If Dong Tianyu were present and saw that thing, he would definitely not be able to help crying out its name, "Black Warrior."

There were rumors that if a Black Warrior wanted to continue to evolve, it had to absorb enough combat experience from the same type of weapon – often using an axe would result in becoming an Axe Emperor, while frequently using a longsword might also likely lead to a transformation into a Sword Saint.

But there was a rumor that as soon as a Black Warrior found and tamed a wild horse, and personally turned the horse into a skeletal mount, it would evolve into a Black Knight.

Keep in mind that a Black Knight is the initial form of a Death Knight, and as long as they don’t disappear, they could truly evolve into a Death Knight, second only to a Bone Dragon among the undead. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

When an undead creature wearing gorgeous clothes and holding a gem-encrusted staff appeared, the survivors watching through the camera were stunned.

This was the first time they saw intelligent eyes in the eye sockets of an undead creature.

As soon as the undead creature stepped onto the ground, it immediately looked up at the hovering drone and casually pointed with its staff; then a dark green light shot from the gem at the top of the staff towards the drone flying in the air.

With a sizzling noise, the drone, after being hit by the green light, instantly came apart like building blocks into its most primitive components.

Watching the parts fall freely in the air, no one cared at the moment, and more were guessing what the function of that green light used by the undead could be.

Although many had only seen a glimpse of an introduction through the screen, those few words weren’t nearly enough to deduce any useful information.

In fact, those who regularly read novels or watch TV shows would know that the last creature to appear was a Wizard Wraith. It’s well known that pure Wizard Wraiths are rare, and most are mages who, facing the end of their lifespans and wishing to prolong their lives, transform themselves into Wizard Wraiths.

This transformation, while ostracizing them from humanity, would also grant them eternal life and tireless bodies.

Any Wizard Wraith, unless they were born that way, would generally have extensive experience in building fortifications; after all, most mages had once dreamt of constructing their own Mage Tower, and Wizard Wraiths were no exception.

As the Wizard Wraith moved away from the portal, the Hexagram that had previously vanished reappeared, and this time it resumed without regard for anything else. The pillar in the center of the Hexagram stopped providing energy for the six spatial gates.

When the six spatial gates no longer received energy from the hexagonal pillar, the entire portal collapsed in an instant, and with the flare-up of light at the center of the Hexagram, the hexagonal pillar vanished from the center of the Hexagram.

Just as it had come quietly, it left just as silently, leaving behind various numbers of undead creatures in the six regions.

This was just one of the numerous scenes on the outskirts of Kyoto; no one had expected that by leaving the skeletons unattended for while, they would start performing tricks.

The skeletons, which were thought to be swift assassins, were now temporarily taking on the role of summoners in a sacrificial ritual, and when it came to choosing the sacrificial item, they even sent in themselves.

When the Hexagram had completely disappeared from the ground and the hexagonal pillar had likewise vanished, everything seemed as if it had never happened.
