Chapter 553: Chapter 400 Sudden Incident

"Fire, have you arrived yet? I feel something underground, and I can’t hold on much longer,"

Hearing Vincenzo’s urging, Fire glanced at Gavin standing with Zachary and responded irritably, "Gavin, it’s not like you don’t have a headset. Didn’t you hear what Vincenzo said? Hurry up and come support us."

Upon hearing Fire’s prodding, Gavin whispered just loud enough for Zachary to hear, "If I stay put, it’s only to give you a chance to play the hero and rescue the damsel in distress. You have the chance to show off but seem to be useless."

Although Gavin’s voice was quiet, he had forgotten that he was wearing a communication device. No matter how quietly he spoke, his words would be transmitted to everyone else’s ears through the mini microphone.

When Fire heard what Gavin said, he didn’t retort but instead sternly said, "Stop mumbling. Just come and help already."

Hearing Fire’s urgings, Gavin reluctantly pulled out a bundle of Flying Daggers from his waist pouch and threw them with great force. The daggers flew like precision-guided missiles, each heading for a different area.

As the Flying Daggers reached the air above a densely-packed cluster of Soldier Bugs, they suddenly shattered, and the fragmented blades, as if controlled by someone, drilled directly into the bugs’ eyes and into their brains. Once inside, the shards spun rapidly.

In this manner, countless shards penetrated the Soldier Bugs’ brains, and the attacked bugs fell over en masse, like ripe wheat harvested in autumn.

Although Gavin’s move wasn’t as lethal as Fire’s flame strike, it was much more efficient at clearing out the lesser bugs compared to the more powerful flame strike.

As all the Soldier Bugs surrounding the makeshift fortifications that Vincenzo had quickly erected died, Fire immediately reminded Vincenzo, "The Soldier Bugs around you have been cleared out; you can come out now."

Vincenzo, unhesitating due to Fire’s robust build, saw the defensive fortifications split open from the middle, and he led a dozen people out from the inside.

Seeing the people Vincenzo had brought with him, Fire frowned slightly, "Why are you the only one bringing people from the alien star? Isn’t there anyone else with you?"

When Fire asked, Vincenzo’s face showed a helpless expression, "It was supposed to be Kylie and me, but Ziwei sent an urgent task and summoned Kylie away, so it’s just me now."

Upon hearing Vincenzo’s words, and perhaps because Zachary was present, Fire did not continue to ask about Kylie or question Vincenzo about the mission the people from the alien star were on. He just glanced in Zachary’s direction.

Vincenzo followed Fire’s gaze and nodded at Zachary on the outskirts of the battlefield, knowing now wasn’t the time to talk.

Fire, concerned, asked Vincenzo, "Are you heading back because the mission is over, or do you need to stay because it’s not yet complete?"

Just as Vincenzo was about to answer Fire’s question, the defensive fortification they had been hiding in collapsed instantaneously, and Flame Bugs began crawling out from the rubble.

Seeing this, the researchers from the alien star following Vincenzo were covered in cold sweat, while Vincenzo and Fire still looked calm. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

At this time, Gavin came over with Zachary, and upon seeing the researchers from the alien star, he immediately started, "I was wondering why the most capable of survival would suddenly ask for support; so it’s for these people, huh?"

Hearing Gavin’s words and with Zachary present, Vincenzo didn’t say much, just nodded.

Perhaps feeling bolstered by his teammates’ presence, Vincenzo didn’t hold back his power anymore and stamped on the ground, whispering, "Earth Burial."

The hole from which the Flame Bugs had emerged rapidly shrank in full view, eventually becoming a solid piece of land indistinguishable from its surroundings.

However, after using this ability, Zachary was surprised to sense that Vincenzo’s aura became notably weaker, though on the surface he didn’t seem to change much from before.

With the underground passageway sealed by Vincenzo, but several Flame Bugs already on the surface before it was sealed, Fire gave Gavin a knowing look.

But maybe due to a lack of understanding between the two, Gavin didn’t grasp what Fire meant with his glance.

Nevertheless, although Gavin didn’t understand Fire’s intention, Zachary did grasp it. They wanted to give Zachary a chance to act, to assess his real strength.

Zachary, who had figured out the other side’s thoughts, did not continue to feign ignorance or wait for someone else to speak, and the Flying Swords that had been following him quickly flew towards the area where the Flame Bugs were.

At that moment, the Flying Swords and the Flame Bugs were in a ratio similar to a strand of hair to a child’s body.

Though a hair could pierce flesh and cause pain, unless it hits a vital spot, it could hardly inflict any substantial harm on a child.
