Chapter 551: Chapter 399: An Unexpected Encounter with the Celestial Stems

"Of course not every day, after all, eating hot pot every day can cause internal heat, and you’ve got to switch up the flavors once in a while."

Upon hearing these words, an unabashedly boastful aura charged towards the two, faced with such a situation, Yara and Madeline countered with eye rolls.

The trio’s mealtime was relatively relaxed, chatting about fun and popular stories. After the meal, Yara and Madeline went straight to the Housing Authority to look for apartments, while Dong Tianyu stayed behind to clean up the aftermath.

Actually, both Madeline and Yara were prepared to help clean up, but since Dong Tianyu had no plans to join them at the Housing Authority, he didn’t ask them to help. Instead, he rushed them to get on with their important tasks.

After they left, Dong Tianyu sent the items on the table into the Cave to be decomposed, and then, after using the Invisibility Technique and controlling his Flying Sword, he headed straight to the skies above the battlefield in the outskirts of Kyoto.

Although the Bug Race’s offensive was largely considered a failure, the Imperial Court arranged training exercises, so the situation on the battlefield was still back and forth. The soldiers had stopped using firearms and were now fighting the Soldier Bugs with melee weapons.

Dong Tianyu, hovering in the sky, was enjoying the scene as if watching a holographic movie. Suddenly, a blade whistled through the air towards him, but such an attack was far from a sneak attack in Dong Tianyu’s eyes.

Before the blade even came close, it had already been spotted by Dong Tianyu who, unlike the masters in movies who would narrowly dodge by moving their head, maneuvered his Flying Sword away from the blade’s path from a safe distance. What Dong Tianyu hadn’t expected was that the blade was not a straight attack. As it neared where Dong Tianyu was originally, it exploded suddenly, sending tiny blades flying like the shrapnel of a Hand Grenade, and inflicting damage over a substantial area.

Seeing this, Dong Tianyu felt secretly relieved. Had he tried to dodge by narrowly moving his head like the masters in the movies, the blade’s sudden fragmentation would have definitely caught him off guard.

Thankfully, he hadn’t tried to play the master, or he would have regretted it. After all, even if the blade had exploded, the metal fragments would only have limited actual damage to him.

Although the attack hadn’t hurt Dong Tianyu, it made him realize that he must have been discovered by others, otherwise he wouldn’t have been targeted like that.

Turning his head towards where the blade had come from, he spotted two people on the ground looking in his direction. Seeing them staring, Dong Tianyu knew his Invisibility Technique hadn’t fooled them.

For Dong Tianyu, this wasn’t surprising. After all, in order to save money, the Invisibility Technique he had learned was quite basic. It was good enough to evade the eyes of ordinary people, but against other reconnaissance spells or even thermal imagers, it was ineffective.

The two on the ground, seeing that Dong Tianyu wasn’t injured from the attack, instantly became more serious. Although the Invisibility Technique Dong Tianyu used was quite common, they too weren’t certain if there was anything in the air initially.

After all, most people rarely pay close attention to what’s happening in the sky. Even those with strong vigilance tend to be alert to their surroundings and overlook what’s happening above, except perhaps amidst skyscrapers. Furthermore, since Dong Tianyu wasn’t moving around much in the sky, it made it even harder for others to spot him. In fact, the two on the ground had only launched the Flying Daggers to test the waters, as it was very easy for them to obtain such explosive blades.

But once Dong Tianyu dodged with his Flying Sword, they confirmed that there indeed was something invisible in the sky.

Watching as one of the people on the ground pulled out a stack of blades similar to the one that had been used in the attack, Dong Tianyu deactivated his Invisibility Technique, revealing himself, and then shouted down to them:

"Hey brother, hold on, I’m one of you, I was just here to watch the show. No need to get confrontational right away."

Hearing the voice from the sky and seeing Dong Tianyu reveal himself, the man on the ground paused but didn’t put the blade back into his belt; instead, he cautiously shouted back at Dong Tianyu, "Come down here and we’ll talk."

Upon hearing this, Dong Tianyu immediately lowered the altitude of his Flying Sword and leapt off, gracefully landing on the ground just before reaching it. As Dong Tianyu left his Flying Sword, it sped up, circled in the air, and then hovered behind him.

Seeing the Flying Sword trailing behind Dong Tianyu, the two men couldn’t help but show envy in their eyes. Setting aside the fact that everyone in China has a dream of being a swordsman, Sword Flight or any form of flying has been a childhood dream for all.

As Dong Tianyu approached, the two men’s attitude relaxed further. If they had been on guard and anxious when Dong Tianyu was up in the sky, their demeanor became much more at ease as he walked up to them.
