Chapter 517: Chapter 382: Fantastic Ideas and Brain Holes

The strength of the AT force field is very much determined by one’s own mind; if there isn’t an attack using the same medium, it is essentially impossible to damage it.

However, the Inner Breath cultivated by martial artists actually contains some of their own willpower. This is not apparent in the initial stages, but as one progresses to the Energy Cultivation Realm and the Path Entry Realm, this characteristic becomes increasingly prominent. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

After all, martial artists in the Path Entry Realm can use the energy within their bodies to draw upon the Spirit Energy between heaven and earth. If the energy within doesn’t contain their own will, then how could it possibly draw on the Spirit Energy of the world?

The second and fifth members of the Simon Family were preparing to use knives to help break through the opponent’s AT force field, but just as they were about to swing their blades, the third brother suddenly spoke, "Energetic transmission."

Upon hearing the third brother’s words, the two immediately returned their knives to the scabbards on their backs, then placed their palms against the third brother’s back to transmit energy to him.

As the two continuously transferred the energy from within their bodies to the third brother, the energy covering the blade in his hand became even more concentrated, and the cleaver that was inserted into the AT force field began to slowly penetrate the barrier formed by the AT force field.

The spot on the AT force field punctured by the tip of the knife closely resembled the depression formed when piercing plastic wrap with a finger.

As the depth of this depression gradually increased, a sound like shattering glass echoed in everyone’s minds.

The AT force field, which was very elastic when pierced by the cleaver, suddenly fractured like breaking ice and then shattered into pieces before everyone’s eyes.

As previously mentioned, an AT force field is a barrier between the self and the objective world. If the AT force field remains intact, the creature protected within is as if in a separate space from the objective world.

But once the AT force field is destroyed, the barrier between the self and the objective world vanishes. Without the obstruction of an AT force field, any weapon can inflict normal damage on the entity itself.

Seeing the AT force field disappear, the third member of the Simon Family did not rush to attack the strange creature from the Bug Race. Instead, he sheathed his cleaver, took out the automatic rifle that was slung on his back, retreated some distance with the second and fifth brothers, and then opened fire on it with a barrage of bullets.

With the ’rat-tat-tat’ of gunfire, numerous bullet holes appeared on the creature’s body.

However, the wounds caused by these bullet holes shrank and disappeared within seconds, thanks to its powerful regenerative abilities.

Seeing this, the third brother turned to his second and fifth brothers and said, "You two, stay put; I’m going to probe a bit."

After that, the third brother drew his cleaver again and quickly approached the creature, aiming first at the female corpse upon its upper body.

The third brother’s powerful strike was intended to sever the connection between the female corpse and the bug’s body with one cut, but unexpectedly, even with the enhancement of energy on the blade, the cleaver only penetrated about one-third of the way in.

As the third brother tried to withdraw the cleaver, he found it seemed to be stuck in the Bug Race creature’s body. Just as he was about to pull it out, the female corpse on the bug’s body suddenly came to life, seized the blade with one hand to prevent the brother from retracting the cleaver, and with the other hand, struck at the third brother’s body.

Seeing this, the third brother immediately let go of the handle and drew the other knife from his person. His Inner Breath once again enveloped the blade as he chopped off the attacking hand of the female corpse, then swiftly swung again, severing the other arm in an instant.

The female corpse, having lost both arms, spewed a dark green liquid from its mouth. Noticing the spitting attack from the female corpse, the third brother quickly dodged to the side before leaping high and decapitating the female corpse’s head.

The female corpse, now without a head or arms, did not leak any fluid from the severed parts; instead, lumps of flesh began to swell at the breaks, and these areas started to slowly bloat.

Seeing this transformation, the third member of the Simon Family did not stay in place to wait for the adversary to change as seen in movies. Instead, he took a block of C4 from his traveling bag, set the timer, and threw it into the bulging corpse of the female corpse.

He then quickly retreated to the distance. The second and fifth brothers who had been near him had already returned to the vicinity of the Hunting Team.

As the countdown on the C4 slowly reached zero, a loud explosion erupted; unlike in movies, where explosives create smoke, the body of the female corpse was blasted into pieces. The shockwave from the explosion, coupled with the splattered flesh, scattered across the surrounding area.

And as those pieces of flesh fell to the ground, the sizzling sound of corrosion informed everyone that even the blood flowing within the Bug Race could cause substantial harm to humans.

At this moment, the third member of the Simon Family did not return to the Hunting Team with a disdainful face and his back to the explosion as seen in films. Instead, facing the site of the explosion, he cautiously moved toward the Hunting Team’s position.

Although the third brother might seem reckless in battle, he was the kind of person who possessed the heart of a tiger yet could detect the most subtle of scents. He was well aware of the numerous scenes in films and dramas where countless heroes or villains were killed after letting their guard down upon achieving a major victory.

So even though the third brother’s actions at the start of the battle may seem impetuous, as the fight drew towards an end, his behavior became ever more cautious, ensuring that he did not stumble at the last moment.
