Chapter 1104: Chapter 1103: Do You Think I Would Let You Off So Easily?
Finally, it was Lu Ze who spoke: "Lu Heng, just go with them. Mr. Li, the lawyer, will be right over."
Lu Heng turned his head, looked at his father, and nodded: "Alright."
After speaking, he left with those few people and got into the car.
Lu Heng didn’t say a word. The person leading them exchanged a few words with him, not treating him like a suspect but more like talking to a friend. However, Lu Heng remained silent, just indifferent.
The man didn’t force it either, just smiled and then exchanged a glance with the people who came along.
The car continued to drive for about half an hour before Lu Heng realized something was wrong. He looked at the leading man warily: "Where are you taking me?"
The man chuckled: "To the station, of course, where else. Doctor Lu, please rest assured, we’re in a law-abiding society now, nothing like what you’re imagining will happen."
Lu Heng was slightly relieved, but after a while, he again felt something was off.
This road was definitely not right.
As soon as he moved, a hard object pressed against his waist, and then the man spoke in a composed voice: "Doctor Lu, I advise you not to move, otherwise it’ll be difficult for me, don’t you agree?"
Lu Heng squinted his eyes: "Who are you people?"
"Genuine article, but someone wants to meet Doctor Lu." The man smiled lightly, "We treat you with courtesy, so don’t make it hard for us."
At this point, Lu Heng naturally wouldn’t act rashly. These people were following orders, and if necessary, feeding him a bullet wouldn’t be out of the question.
He pursed his lips tightly and didn’t say a word.
The man put away the weapon, "Doctor Lu truly is a smart man, different from us rough folks."
He turned to his group of brothers and said: "See, we only know how to shoot the breeze."
Lu Heng was furious, given these people’s status, all full of underworld jargon.
He wore a look of arrogance and indifference, but the man wasn’t upset, knowing that no matter how proud this guy was, he’d be worn down soon.
The car drove for another ten minutes or so and arrived at an abandoned warehouse. As soon as he got out, the stench overwhelmed him. A nobleman like Lu Heng had never encountered such a foul odor and immediately felt like vomiting.
The man smirked: "Doctor Lu, you’re really quite pampered, aren’t you? This is just the beginning."
He looked up and chuckled: "Little Gu really did find a nice place."
Lu Heng was livid, shoved into the large warehouse by those people. It was dark and dingy inside, but he could still see Gu Anxi sitting on a set of sofas, holding a tissue over her nose, complaining to the man beside her: "Chen Ming, why does it smell so bad here."
Chen Ming replied kindly: "You said to find a stinky place, thinking Doctor Lu wouldn’t be able to stand it."
Gu Anxi shot him a glance: "But not this bad, I can’t stand it."
Chen Ming gave a fake smile: "Bear with it."
Gu Anxi could only grin and bear it.
Right then, Lu Heng’s hands were swiftly tied behind his back, the ropes looping around a chair back.
The man pressed down on his head, ’Sit still, Doctor Lu, this isn’t your laboratory.’
Lu Heng looked up: "What, is this Little Gu’s grand courtroom?"
Gu Anxi walked over with a smile, still covering her nose, bending over to look at Lu Heng.
Lu Heng glared at her.
Gu Anxi patted his face: "It’s this face that has my uncle so mesmerized."
Lu Heng squinted: "I haven’t done anything with him."
"I know," Gu Anxi said, pulling back a step while covering her nose: "Whatever my uncle did, he’ll pay for it himself, serving a lifetime in prison is exactly what he deserves, but as his niece, I can fulfill a small wish for him."
Lu Heng’s expression changed instantly.
He knew all too well what Wang Kefu’s damn wish was. He was furious: "Gu Anxi, don’t you dare."
"Why wouldn’t I?" Gu Anxi chuckled: "Lu Heng, do you think you still have any room to negotiate at this point?"
She straightened her posture, her voice icy: "You’re fully aware of the results from your experiment, you knew there might be accidents, you knew the drug you produced would have side effects, yet you went ahead with production anyway, harming thousands upon thousands of people. Did you think I’d let you off easily?"
