Chapter 66: The Estate Raid

While the clone down in Alabama kept working to convince Abraham’s group to join them at the prison, the real Gray was casually traveling the streets of the Commonwealth. He had taken off his armor and was exploring the upper-class districts in normal clothes, keeping a close eye on the Governor’s son.

Sebastian was being a complete snob, walking around and treating every single citizen as if they were beneath him. Gray was rapidly reaching a boiling point just watching the kid’s behavior. Deciding he had seen enough, Gray simply stepped out and walked right in front of him on the pavement, attempting to walk past him.

The armored guards escorting Sebastian reacted instantly. Seeing a stranger approaching their high-profile target, they moved aggressively and warned Gray to step back. A few of them even raised their guns, aiming them directly at his chest.

Gray simply scoffed at the weapons. He didn’t want to cause a massive scene in the middle of the day while dozens of regular citizens were actively watching, so he simply stepped off to the side of the road.

Sebastian gave him an arrogant, punchable smirk as he walked past. Once he got right next to Gray’s shoulder, he lowered his voice and sneered, "That’s right. Know your place."

Gray kept perfectly quiet, his expression blank, but deep down his Saiyan blood was boiling. He had already planned exactly how he was going to give that guy a private visit tonight, but first he wanted to hear what the Governor had to say before he carried out his own version of justice.

Once it got dark out, Gray stopped what he was doing and simply teleported high into the air. He floated down silently toward Pamela’s private estate, his eyes locked on her window. Through the glass, he could see her frantically pacing and looking through some documents at her desk. Gray equipped his blackened armor and his Nazgûl mask, landing smoothly on her balcony. He opened the doors without a sound and stepped into the room.

Pamela heard the door click, turned around, and froze as she came face-to-face with the nightmare that had threatened her and her remaining family. "What do you want?" she asked defensively, her hands shaking slightly as she clutched her papers. "I’m already doing what you asked, but these things take time."

"Yeah... and I’m here to commend you for your efforts," Gray said, his voice deep, distorted, and echoing from behind his mask. "But it seems that your son still thinks he’s completely untouchable...Which is weird, as far as I remember, I gave you the most files on him."Gray let his statement linger for a while longer and continued. "I met him earlier today, and you want to know what he said to me? He told me to ’know my place.’ So... you have until tomorrow to publicly bring out his crimes. If you don’t, it won’t matter how many guards you bring to protect him. It will not be enough."

Pamela’s face went completely pale, tears of frustration welling in her eyes. "But he’s my son... I cannot simply bring him to the guillotine like the others!"

"Do or don’t. You have exactly twenty-four hours," Gray replied.

Without waiting for her response, Gray turned on his heel and walked back out onto the balcony, vanishing into the darkness. He didn’t fly back to his base just yet. He was still incredibly pissed off about the interaction from earlier in the day, and he wasn’t satisfied with how things had been left.

Using his flight to glide silently above the rooftops of the Commonwealth, Gray activated his Wraith Sight, his vision piercing through the walls of the luxury estate buildings. He started actively searching the upper-class grid for Sebastian. He knew the kid was probably drinking or bragging to his wealthy friends somewhere, completely oblivious to the fact that his time had just officially run out.

After looking for another 10 minutes, Gray finally located Sebastian. The governor’s son was inside a luxury estate, drinking and partying with a large group of his wealthy friends. Gray didn’t even bother with stealth this time. He landed heavily on the front lawn, walked straight up to the entrance, and violently kicked the double doors off their hinges.

The loud crash echoed through the house. The music stopped instantly as the crowd of entitled rich kids turned to look in absolute surprise at the heavily armored figure standing in the doorway, completely bewildered by his sudden appearance. Gray didn’t waste any words. He slowly raised his hand, pointing a single finger directly at the governor’s son.

"You," Gray muttered from behind his mask.

The owner of the house, a wealthy young snob, stepped forward to confront him. Trying to act high and mighty, he aggressively pointed a finger at Gray’s face. "Who the hell do you think you are breaking into my house?!" the snob yelled, his voice shaking with anger. "Do you know who my family is? I can have you and your entire pathetic family exiled from the Commonwealth by tomorrow morning! Or worse, I’ll make sure you’re sent to the labor camps to rot for the rest of your short life!"

"Oh, really?" Gray said simply.

Before the snob could utter another syllable, Gray delivered a swift backhand to his face. The casual strike packed enough force to knock the kid out cold instantly, sending him crashing hard onto the floor.

Seeing their host go down, the remaining rich kids started panicking, screaming and scrambling toward the back exits to run away. But Gray wasn’t about to let them leave.

"Shut up and stay exactly where you are, or you’re next!" Gray yelled, his voice shaking the walls of the room.

The crowd froze in terror. Gray stood in the center of the room, looking at their expensive drinks and fancy clothes. "Look at you all," Gray said, his tone dripping with disgust. "The world outside has completely gone to hell, and you’re up here drinking and partying without a care. Meanwhile, the poor residents in the lower sectors have to labor for more than eight hours a day just to afford to keep living in this place."

It seemed the alcohol had made a few of the guests incredibly brave...or completely stupid. A few of the jock friends of the guy Gray had just knocked out started hyping each other up in the back. They kept whispering, "It’s just one fucking guy in armor, let’s teach him a lesson."

While Gray was still talking, two of the drunk jocks suddenly lunged forward, trying to tackle him to the ground. Gray didn’t even blink. He effortlessly stepped to the side to dodge the first attacker, then extended his hand, catching the second, larger jock right by the top of his head.

Using only a fraction of his Saiyan strength, Gray lifted the heavy, full-grown man high into the air with a single hand, holding him dangling above the terrified crowd.

"It seems that nobody ever taught you all proper manners," Gray said, looking up at the struggling jock. "So, allow me."

With a quick flick of his wrist, Gray launched the big guy across the room. The jock flew ten feet through the air before violently smashing into the drywall, leaving a massive crater in the structure as he slid down to the floor, completely unconscious.

Thanks to all the noise and the screams, a few guards had made their way over to the house. It seemed that a few of the rich kids had managed to sneak out of the back exit just in time, and they had brought a crowd of extra guards back with them. Gray heard the heavy commotion and shouting from outside, but he didn’t care at all. He just continued walking directly toward Sebastian.

Sebastian, seeing the armored individual closing the distance, completely froze at first. He was panicking deep inside, but the moment he heard the loud voices of the guards gathering outside, his punchable smirk came right back to his face.

"What the hell do you want from me?" Sebastian demanded, trying to puff out his chest. "I don’t even know you." He clearly started feeling more in control of the situation the more guards showed up at the perimeter. He looked at Gray and scoffed, "If you drop down on your knees and apologize right now, I might actually let you get away scot-free."

Gray didn’t even slow his pace. Just as he was about to reach Sebastian, a squad of armored guards burst through the shattered front entrance. Seeing Gray, they instantly pointed their assault rifles at him, yelling at the top of their lungs for him to get on the ground.

Gray stopped for a split second, then instantly dashed forward, blurring straight toward Sebastian. He reached out and grabbed the kid by the collar. One of the panicking guards pulled his trigger and took a shot. Gray could have easily caught that bullet out of the air if he wanted to, but he wanted to prove a brutal point to everyone in the room. He simply shifted his weight and pulled Sebastian directly into the bullet’s trajectory.

Bang!

The bullet pierced cleanly right through Sebastian’s left shoulder. Sebastian let out a bloody screech, clutching his bleeding shoulder and turning his head to yell at the entrance. "You fucking morons! Watch where you’re shooting!"

Gray let out a laugh, tightly holding his hostage by the neck. "Ooh, tough break. You guys went and made the boss’s son really mad."

Gritting his teeth in pure pain, Sebastian began showing Gray his true, ugly colors. "So, even after you know who my mother is, you’re still gonna keep this up? You’re dead! You hear me?!"

"Oh buddy, even if you were the son of the President, I wouldn’t give a single fuck," Gray whispered, "Besides... I’m petty, and you told me to know my place earlier today, right?"

Hearing those exact words, Sebastian’s eyes widened to the size of saucers as realization hit him. "You? But... you were a nobody on the street!"

"Wrong answer," Gray muttered.

With a quick flick of his fingers, Gray grabbed Sebastian’s right hand and deliberately broke two of his fingers. Crunch. Sebastian yelled in pain but was unable to do anything.

Hearing the distinct sound of bones snapping, a few of the horrified guards raised their weapons to fire, but they were immediately stopped by their squad leader. Gray initially thought the leader would be Mercer, but on closer inspection, he was wrong... it was a completely different officer.

The leader slammed his hand down, signaling the other guards. "Stand down! Lower your weapons!" He then looked directly at Gray, trying to keep his composure. "What the hell do you want here?"

"Justice," Gray replied simply, his distorted voice echoing through the room.

"Justice?" The leader of the guards looked around at the destroyed drywall, the unconscious jocks, and the bleeding governor’s son. "What part of all of this wreckage looks like justice to you?"

"I didn’t want to cause any of this," Gray said, casually shaking Sebastian like a ragdoll. "If people around here actually listened, it would have been fine. I only came into this house for this specific piece of shit."

"And why him?" the leader demanded.

"Well, he’s guilty of a lot of things," Gray explained. "Like intentionally killing a few innocent people kind of things."

The guard leader frowned, keeping his eyes locked on Gray. "If he has done something wrong, we will bring him to justice through the proper channels. So why don’t you just release him to us?"

Gray started walking backward, dragging the whimpering Sebastian toward the back exit of the estate. He looked at the leader of the guards and let out a mocking laugh.

"Oh, I was already planning on it," Gray said, shaking his head at the man. "But you’re incredibly naive if you think you or anyone else in this place has the authority to even investigate this piece of shit. No, I was going to let his dear old mom handle him by tomorrow, since she already has all the evidence she needs to lock him away. And if she doesn’t do her job... well, I wouldn’t mind coming back again to finish it myself."

Once his boots hit the threshold of the doorway, he didn’t waste any more time. He simply shoved Sebastian forward, launching him crashing into the arms of the incoming guards, and bolted outside into the dark courtyard.

Thanks to his intense training under heavy gravity, Gray’s physical speed in the real world was entirely supernatural. He ran like a blur across the lawn, and the exact second he turned a corner and was completely out of sight of the guards and the perimeter cameras, he activated his Jumper ability and teleported away.

Back in the quiet safety of his quarters, Gray unequipped his armor, feeling thoroughly content with the massive amount of steam he had just let off. He didn’t plan on letting Sebastian get off completely scot-free after tonight, not at all. He had simply wanted to teach the arrogant prick a painful lesson to bring him down a notch or two.
