Chapter 91: Rewards!

"My host, congratulations on completing two missions in succession. You shall soon receive the system rewards. The system rewards are being distributed..."

The system’s solemn voice rang out in Darius’s mind, startling him and pulling him out of his brief moment of imagination.

[ Ding! Ding! Ding! ]

A rapid succession of system notifications exploded in his mind.

[ System Notification: Two Missions Completed ]

[ First Mission: Assign a Guardian to the Pavilion... Completed ]

[ Second Mission: Save Shen and uphold the reputation of your Pavilion... Completed ]

[ Calculating Rewards.... ]

[ Calculating Performance.... ]

[ Reward Distribution Initiating.... ]

He had truly been looking forward to this moment. Over the past few days, so many things had happened that he had barely been able to focus on his pavilion. Even Darius’s usually expressionless face twitched slightly as a smile appeared at the corners of his mouth.

"Young man aiming to become the Supreme Pavilion Master, congratulations on completing the missions. You have once again taken a step toward achieving your goal. Rewards:"

’Please, let it be something good. Alchemy was insanely useful, but I haven’t even started selling pills yet. If I add something else on top of that and people witness the services, the impact would be explosive!’ Darius prayed silently while holding his breath.

[ Ding ]

[ Reward 1: Ordinary Gravity Room — ’Click for details on functions and usage’ ]

[ Pavilion Guardian Token (Rare) ]

[ Reward 2: Pavilion Protection Formation Fragment ]

[ Supreme Pavilion Master Set Fragment – Mask ]

"Evaluation of host performance: SSS. Host has exceeded the system’s expectations and will therefore receive a special reward:

[ Reward: 10x Lottery Draw Tickets ]

A modest black mask materialized on the desk, along with a token bearing the symbol of a shield engraved upon it. Darius blinked in surprise and slightly shook his head. He truly hadn’t expected such extravagant rewards. Wasn’t this basically cheating?

"Pavilion Protection Formation Fragment?!"

When Darius heard the system’s solemn voice announce this reward, he subconsciously swallowed his saliva. He was very familiar with formations from all the novels he had read, but he didn’t know what use it would have. Didn’t he already possess the protection granted by the system?

Almost immediately after his question, a series of notifications rang out and a panel appeared before him.

In his vision, the entire pavilion appeared in a three-dimensional projection, with a large formation encompassing it. Beside the image, three sentences were displayed.

"A damaged formation that gathers Spiritual Energy.

Current Effects:

Cultivation speed inside the pavilion increases by 20–30%.

Spiritual Energy becomes denser.

Alchemy and cultivation have a slightly higher success rate."

Darius was overjoyed as he read the descriptions. This was basically hitting four birds with one stone. He felt so excited that it was as if he were walking on air.

Not only would it benefit his cultivation should he ever decide to cultivate normally, and aid his alchemy, but his guardian and all pavilion members would benefit as well, especially when renting the cultivation rooms.

Darius felt the pressure to properly manage the pavilion become even heavier than before. He silently vowed that he would only leave after business hours were over. Otherwise, nothing would be able to drag him away from this place.

His cultivation speed, thanks to the panel, was already fast as lightning, so he wasn’t worried about that. His main goal right now was to increase his funds, services, and membership count, turning the Immortal Pavilion into a holy land for cultivators that guilds would envy.

’System, what about the other rewards?’ Darius asked curiously.

"As explained, you can click on them and view the details yourself."

Hearing such a lifeless reply, Darius shrugged and decided to inspect the lottery tickets first. He already had a rough idea of what they were, so he chose to start there.

[ Description: Allows the Host to draw from a Lottery Pool of infinite grades. Includes skills, tools, consumables, or minor facilities. ]

Although the description only mentioned these four categories, Darius knew the pool contained far more possibilities. Still, he frowned slightly and couldn’t help but ask, ’Isn’t this basically gambling?’

While he loved receiving free things, gambling destroyed lives. What if he became addicted because of the system and ended up wasting money in such places whenever he visited Earth?

Mind you, he could control himself, but addiction could affect anyone. As the saying went, alcohol starts with a sip and ends with ten bottles and a drunkard. Everything began with the first attempt, and gambling was one of the most terrifying self-destructive addictions imaginable.

"Host is once again overthinking things. Gambling involves risking your own money first and foremost. These tickets are free. Besides, aren’t you broke to begin with? Why worry about something you don’t even have the ability to indulge in?"

Darius’s mouth twitched, but he didn’t reply. The system was right. He was overthinking again.

Every human had flaws, and one of his was thinking too deeply about things that didn’t necessarily deserve it.

Chuckling softly, he moved on to the next reward: the Pavilion Guardian Token (Rare).

His eyebrows rose slightly upon seeing the word "Rare," and he couldn’t help but marvel.

’The system truly thought of everything. Even John received something.’

He casually glanced at the young man standing near the pavilion entrance, and a smirk briefly appeared on his face before vanishing.

’This should help increase his loyalty even further.’

Darius began reading through the token’s details, and even he felt a little jealous of its benefits. No wonder the requirements for becoming a guardian were so strict. Such privileges should naturally be reserved for truly talented individuals.

"Pavilion Guardian Token (Rare) 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

A special token that can be granted to a Pavilion Guardian.

Effects:

Increases cultivation speed by 30% while inside the pavilion.

Grants slight resistance to mental attacks and illusions.

Allows the Host to communicate with the guardian through the token.

Can instantly summon the guardian back to the pavilion once per day."

’This basically allows John to perform missions outside, run errands, and then be summoned back instantly if needed. Like a very loyal d... ehm.’

Darius lightly cleared his throat and coughed.

Truly, strange thoughts and words appeared out of nowhere.

He had believed his internet days were long behind him, yet the toxic remnants still lingered. He really needed to work on himself.

Having reached this point, he couldn’t help but shift his gaze toward the reward he was most interested in.

As the saying goes, leave the best for last.

Supreme Pavilion Master Set Fragment – Mask.

As for the gravity room? He had a feeling it wouldn’t appear till tomorrow since it might alter John, so he didn’t bother to check it out yet.
