Chapter 68: Assassination-2

These two people were obviously assassins. There was no change in their expressions when faced with their opponent’s "flirting." On the other hand, their attacks were quick and forceful, and they moved with well-practiced coordination. However, they were both only in the True Qi Realm. Even if they were at the Ninth Layer of the True Qi Realm, how could they possibly be a match for a Celestial Human Realm expert?

The beautiful woman only slightly increased the effort she was putting into the battle, and it was enough to cause the two assassins to face danger from all sides.

"Never thought about it, right? I betrayed and left the Falling Flower Court, yet my cultivation has broken through to the Celestial Human Realm!" she laughed lightly. Her figure moved gracefully, but her attacks became faster and more powerful. If a Celestial Human Realm expert became serious, how could mere True Qi Realm cultivators stand against her?

The two assassins were instantly placed in dire straits and appeared to be trapped in an extremely difficult situation.

"I only need one person to go back and report!" the beautiful woman said with cold killing intent. "Go and tell that b****, Linda Arnold, that when I break through to the Fourth Realm, that will be the day she surrenders her head!"

Her killing intent blazed, and her attacks became even more ruthless.

The old man and the young girl exchanged a glance before each stretching out a hand to grasp the other’s. Instantly, an indescribable power began circulating between them, and there appeared to be an inconceivable increase in their battle prowess, allowing them to withstand the beautiful woman’s killing moves one after another.

Darius was astounded.

’Was this some special martial art that linked two people together?’

This was the type of secret technique that was extremely popular in the novels he had read in his previous life. Such techniques could greatly increase the strength of the users when employed together. He had seen countless examples of them in novels, so he could tell at a glance that although this martial art was obviously different and he knew nothing about it, its power certainly wouldn’t be low.

While he was still feeling surprised, the two assassins obviously realized they were no match for the beautiful woman. After barely managing to withstand a few more attacks, they suddenly leaped out of the window and fled into the distance.

The beautiful woman chased after them as well and stood by the window, watching the direction in which the two assassins had disappeared. However, she made no move to continue the pursuit.

The people walking on the streets had heard the window shatter and all looked up. However, what they saw was an extremely beautiful woman standing by the window. As a light breeze blew past, her silken garments wrapped tightly around her shapely figure, clearly outlining her voluptuous body, causing many passersby to stare in fascination.

This was truly an exceptionally captivating beauty.

The beautiful woman turned around and glanced at Darius before saying, "Little kid, you are really quite brave not to flee."

Darius smiled faintly and replied, "I’m so scared that my legs have gone weak. Even if I wanted to flee, I couldn’t."

"Giggle!" The beautiful woman covered her mouth and laughed. Her beauty seemed to ripple with her laughter, carrying an indescribable charm. "This beautiful woman is rather fond of your type... a sweet tongue and a good sense of humor. What a pity that this beautiful woman is already married!"

Her figure suddenly leaped out of the window, completely ignoring the corpses of the three members of the Red Sea Army.

The most vicious is a woman’s heart.

Darius shivered inwardly. Just now, that beautiful woman had actually harbored killing intent toward him, yet for some reason, she had abandoned the idea.

Simply trying to enjoy a meal, and things had become so hair-raising. He truly did not know whether to laugh or cry. Since arriving in this world, aside from the first few days of peace within the Pavilion, every step he took outside seemed fraught with danger.

At that moment, he truly realized how frightening a world could be when people wielded power beyond ordinary human comprehension.

’Looks like it’s time to stop slacking off.’ Darius narrowed his eyes for a brief moment before his expression returned to its usual calm state.

As for the woman’s invitation, even if she weren’t married and extended her hand to him, he would never have accepted it. Her type was the worst. And so what if she was a beautiful woman? Given enough time, her skin would wrinkle and grow old. She was merely flesh and blood. Such things could not possibly sway him.

He appreciated a woman’s beauty, but he had full control over his lower instincts, mainly because of his experiences in his previous life, which had not been pleasant to begin with.

Darius rose from his seat and left. This matter had nothing to do with him. He did not have the time to concern himself with unnecessary affairs.

This was an area directly under the Emperor’s control, given the importance of the sanctuary, and three members of the Red Sea Army had died. It was an extremely serious incident. Within moments, the entirety of Dragon City was placed on high alert. One police troop after another could be seen patrolling the streets, searching for the whereabouts of the two assassins.

After Darius returned to the Pavilion and entered the main hall, his brows immediately furrowed.

Someone had touched the pill cabinet beside the receptionist’s desk.

Someone had entered his Pavilion.

’System, what the hell is this? Isn’t the Pavilion restricted? How did someone get inside?’

He vividly recalled the scene where Annie had once attempted to force her way into the Pavilion and had been unable to even budge the door. So how had someone suddenly gotten inside?

His mind raced at full speed, but his body froze the next second as his pupils contracted.

"Whoosh!"

A bright flash of light appeared, and a sword was suddenly pointed directly at his chest.

A beautiful young man stood before him.

"Don’t make any noise, or I’ll kill you!"
