Chapter 301: Dominance

The battlefield had descended into an eerie silence, a stark contrast to the chaos that had just unfolded.

The ground lay in ruins, deep cracks spiderwebbing across the prairie, while scorched patches blackened by fire stood alongside gashes as if carved by invisible blades.

Faint arcs of lightning flickered intermittently before dissipating into the air. The heavy scent of burnt flesh mingled with something sharp and metallic, creating an oppressive atmosphere.

Scattered around were broken limbs, green blood, and the shattered remains of wolf-ant beasts, transforming the area into a gruesome war zone. The Adventurers could only stand at a distance, wide-eyed and breathless, their minds struggling to process what they had just witnessed.

Their gazes gradually shifted toward the center of it all, where Sage stood alone against the last two remaining Elite beasts.

Gregor was the first to break the silence, his voice low yet filled with disbelief as he rubbed the back of his head while staring at Sage’s back.

His green eyes reflected the faint glow of lingering mana in the air as he let out a dry chuckle. "I never expected to see something like this," he admitted. "I’ve always known Mages were powerful but thought they mostly stayed behind casting spells from a safe distance—controlling battles from afar while others engaged in close combat. What I’m seeing is something entirely different."

He shook his head slowly. "This isn’t just a Mage; this is something else altogether. The Guildmaster fights like both a Warrior and a Mage at once, no, even that doesn’t capture it; it’s simply insane."

His voice carried a mix of shock, excitement, and an undercurrent of fear because deep down he understood that Sage’s current level of power could easily crush ordinary fighters.

Brutus stood beside him with arms crossed over his dust-covered frame, breathing heavily from earlier exertions as he regarded Sage with a serious expression.

"Yeah," he nodded slowly. "I felt it too; every spell he cast was extraordinary, even that small fireball earlier had more power than it should have had."

He paused for emphasis before continuing, "Now he’s throwing spells like they cost him nothing, as if he has endless mana! I’ve fought many battles before but this... this feels different; it’s like watching someone who has complete control over everything around them, the battlefield itself seems to listen to him."

As Brutus spoke, he clenched his fist slightly as if trying to steady himself under Sage’s overwhelming presence.

Nearby stood Vanthrice, gripping her bronze spear tightly with sharp eyes fixed on Sage’s movements. Her calm demeanor belied her racing thoughts as she analyzed everything she observed: his casting speed, spell placements, and seamless integration of various elements without hesitation.

After contemplating for a moment, she spoke in measured tones. "He’s not just powerful; he’s precise. Every spell he casts lands exactly where it needs to be, there’s no wasted movement, no wasted mana. Even when surrounded, he still controls the fight. That’s why those beasts couldn’t overwhelm him. They were strong, but they were reacting while he was orchestrating everything from the start."

Caelis adjusted his stance, leaning slightly on his weapon as wonder filled his eyes.

"Did you see how fast those magic circles appeared? They barely lingered long enough to be seen clearly, they flashed and the spell was already unleashed! I tried to follow it, but it was impossible. It’s like he’s casting faster than we can even react! And when he started using multiple spells at once... that was just insane! I’ve never seen anyone do that so smoothly without any delay."

Mina stood in front of them with her hands on her hips, chin raised high and golden eyes shining with pride.

She puffed out her chest and declared, "Of course he’s strong; this is my stinky petty uncle Sage!"

She said it as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, then turned to Valeria, who stood a little distance away with her usual calm and cold expression.

Mina made a playful face at her and added, "Look, big sis! Didn’t I tell you? He’s really strong, way stronger than all of you!"

Her tone brimmed with childish arrogance as if she had fought the battle herself.

Valeria glanced at Mina briefly before rolling her eyes slightly, choosing not to engage with her teasing. Instead, she shifted her gaze back to Sage, narrowing her eyes as she observed him intently.

Unlike the others who were merely impressed, Valeria analyzed him deeply. She could sense that Sage had already broken through to the level of a 4-Star Master Mage. But what stood out more wasn’t just his rank; it was his presence.

His soul felt unusually robust, far beyond what a typical mage at that level should possess and his mana... it seemed limitless: steady yet overwhelming.

There was something else mixed within it too, something deeper that eluded her understanding and made her uneasy as she pondered what had happened to him while he was unconscious.

Meanwhile, at the center of the battlefield, Sage stood calmly facing the last two Elite beasts. His breathing remained steady; traces of mana flickered around him like an invisible shield.

The ground beneath him lay cracked and uneven, but he stood firm as if none of it mattered. The two beasts growled lowly in front of him; their bodies tense and green scales glinting faintly in the light as they locked their eyes onto him with a mix of anger and caution.

Unlike before, they no longer charged recklessly, they had witnessed what happened to their companions being torn apart one after another and now they moved carefully: slower but more deliberate as they circled around him in search of an opening.

Sage tilted his head slightly, a faint smile creeping onto his face as he muttered under his breath, "Finally, you’re starting to think. But it’s too late for that."

His voice was calm yet tinged with excitement; this kind of fight, this level of pressure, was precisely what he needed to test his current strength and gauge what he could do now.

Without wasting another moment, he slowly raised his hand, mana swirling around him as three magic circles formed almost instantly, one glowing red, another green, and the last crackling with blue lightning. They spun rapidly before snapping into place.

The two beasts reacted immediately. Their massive bodies tensed before they lunged forward simultaneously, transforming into green blurs as they charged at him from different angles.

Their claws sliced through the air with a sharp sound, aimed directly at him with lethal intent. Yet Sage remained rooted in place, watching their movements calmly as if everything were unfolding in slow motion. The instant they entered his range, his hand moved ever so slightly.

A thunderous BOOOOM!!! reverberated across the battlefield as the magic circles unleashed their power all at once.

A colossal arrow formed from blazing fire wrapped tightly in thick arcs of lightning, each arc as wide as a human thigh, while wind swirled around it to compress its might even further. In the blink of an eye, it shot forward with terrifying speed, tearing apart the air around it and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake as it pierced through the space between Sage and the two beasts.

The first beast didn’t stand a chance; before it could react, the lightning-infused fire arrow slammed into its body. The impact erupted with a deafening BANG!!!

Its torso exploded open, creating a massive hole that sent green blood and flesh scattering everywhere. For just a split second, its enormous form froze before collapsing lifelessly to the ground. It twitched slightly before going still.

The second beast attempted to dodge at the last moment; its body twisted sharply to one side but it was too late. The edge of the arrow clipped its frame just before Sage moved again.

Another magic circle appeared beneath it instantly as a sharp blade of compressed wind shot upward, slicing cleanly through its body with a chilling sound. The beast was cleaved apart mid-air before crashing down in several chunks, green blood splattering across the already devastated battlefield.

Then came silence.

Complete silence enveloped the area as the last two Elite beasts lay dead on the ground, their massive bodies no longer moving. Only the faint crackling of residual mana lingered in the air while everything gradually calmed down.

Sage lowered his hand slowly; the glow in his eyes faded slightly as he regarded the fallen beasts before him. His expression remained serene, as if what he had just accomplished was nothing out of the ordinary and after taking a brief moment to collect himself, he let out a small breath and quietly muttered to himself, "Not bad."

The others in the distance could only watch in stunned silence, their minds racing to comprehend what they had just witnessed. No one uttered a word or made a move; they simply stood there, gazing at him as if he were something out of a dream.

In the heart of the ravaged battlefield, surrounded by the fallen Elite beasts, Sage remained calm and composed. His figure was steady, and though his presence was quiet, it felt overwhelmingly powerful.

And just like that, the Chapter comes to a close.
