Chapter 99: Chapter 99: The Inquisitor

Neo was happily cutting through the golden paladins until a certain figure entered the fray.

He was not like regular paladins. He had a diamond-cut handsome face, a well-built muscular physique, and the temperament of an Unwavering Knight.

"The Inquisitor is here."

Seeing him, the remaining Holy Paladins exhaled a breath of relief.

As the title suggested, he was one of the main pillars of the Solar Saint, who was casually participating in this trial to look after the Holy Paladins, just like Neo.

The very moment the Inquisitor walked in, Neo turned serious.

He could feel the aura of a Type 6 Meta Human from the Inquisitor.

Neo did not expect he would encounter a Type 6 in here. Still, he did not feel a shred of fear.

Instead, a grin formed on his face.

"Now, this will be more fun!"

He accepted the challenge.

The Inquisitor stepped forward, his heavy iron boots sinking slightly into the mud. completely illuminated the dark battlefield.

SWOOSH!

From his broadsword, a massive arc of pure divine light erupted perfectly splitting Neo’s pressurized water dome in half.

The heavy water violently crashed to the ground, freeing the gasping, suffocating Paladins from their aquatic prison.

"Praise the Inquisitor! He saved us!" a wet, bleeding knight coughed out, clutching his shattered chest plate.

"The holy light has arrived!" another Paladin cheered, scrambling away from the center of the battlefield.

Thawk!

Neo landed smoothly on the muddy earth.

His dark, iridescent scales clicked together menacingly. He tilted his monstrous head, completely unbothered by the destruction of his skill.

"You are quite flashy for a babysitter," Neo chuckled darkly.

His guttural voice sent shivers down the spines of the surviving knights.

But the Inquisitor only narrowed his eyes.

Pointing his glowing broadsword directly at Neo, he declared:

"Demon. Your senseless slaughter ends here. In the name of the Solar Saint, I sentence you to absolute eradication."

BOOM!

He instantly broke the sound barrier, appearing right in front of Neo in a blink of an eye.

His glowing broadsword descended like a falling star, carrying the crushing power of a Type 6 Meta Human.

Neo did not dodge.

He grinned and raised his razor-sharp Vellsing claws to block the strike directly.

CLANG!

The deafening sound of divine metal clashing against indestructible beast scales echoed across the Dark Plains.

The kinetic shockwave passed through all direction, completely uprooting the nearby grass and sending the surrounding Paladins flying backward.

"Look at that power! The Inquisitor pushed the demon back! The heretic cannot withstand a Type 6 powerhouse!"

Neo’s boots slid backward in the thick mud, leaving two deep trenches in his wake. His arms trembled slightly from the sheer, overwhelming physical force.

Still, a fearless smile plastered on his face.

"A Type 6 indeed. This is going to be thrilling... I can feel my blood boiling."

The inquisitor only clicked his tongue, then attacked.

"Die!"

SWISH! SLASH! CRACK!

The exchange was impossibly fast.

The Inquisitor swung his heavy blade with divine precision, leaving trails of burning golden light in the air.

Neo jumped and ran, utilizing his terrifying, instinctual beast reflexes. Whenever the holy blade got too close to a vital organ, Neo perfectly deflected it with his reinforced forearms.

"Holy! How he is keeping up with the Inquisitor in close combat? That is entirely impossible! The Inquisitor has the strength to shatter mountains!" a fallen paladin screamed in disbelief.

[ Skill Activated: Hydro Manipulation (D) ]

Neo did not just rely on his raw physical prowess. As he deflected another heavy strike, he quietly manipulated the massive puddles of water scattered across the battlefield.

He instantly condensed the water into dozens of razor-thin, highly pressurized liquid blades.

SPLAT! PSHHH!

The high-pressure water blades shot toward the Inquisitor from every single blind spot.

The holy knight was forced to abruptly halt his assault.

He spun his broadsword rapidly, creating a flawless, circular shield of divine energy.

SPLASH!

The water blades struck the golden shield, instantly vaporizing into thick blinding clouds of white steam.

TSSS!

"Your parlor tricks will not save you, Dark Demon! Prepare to face the true wrath of the Heavens!"

As he finished shouting, his muscular body began to glow with a blinding radiance.

Neo laughed maniacally. "HA HA HA HA..."

His Primordial Demon Physique finally began to devour the negative energy, such as the fear, despair, and uncertainty, from the tens of thousands of Holy Paladins.

Crimson ethereal energy entered his body at a visible speed, causing his Vellsing form to expand.

3 meters.

5 meters.

7 meters.

10 meters.

His demonic form stopped expanding at 10 meters, and yet the Holy Paladins watching the fight began to feel a chill creep down their spines.

They instinctively swallowed their saliva seeing the towering demon in front of them.

"God! How is he still growing so strong? Just what kind of creature is he?"

"He must be an Ancient Demon!"

"An Ancient? How did he come to this sector when every one of them was banished?"

Even the Inquisitor had to think over that. Demons were banished from this Galactic Sector, so how did a demon of this caliber arrive here?

But the questions could come later. The demon needed to be stopped immediately.

"I did not want to use it, demon. But you forced me, remember!"

Surrounded by the radiant golden light, the Inquisitor raised his broadsword high into the fractured sky. The heavy clouds moved away, revealing a blinding artificial sun that pulsed with pure divine wrath.

"Oh Sovereign of the Radiant Dawn, your devoted blade calls upon the primordial radiance. Let the Nine Heavens descend to bless the righteous. Let the Nine Hells be completely purged in absolute white!"

 "Heaven’s Eclipse!"

Hummmmm!

Hearing to the thunderous chant, a colossal pillar of concentrated solar plasma plummeted from the heavens, directly striking the Inquisitor’s raised broadsword.

The heat was so intense that it flash-boiled the damp earth beneath Inquisitor’s feet, turning the surrounding mud into perfectly smooth glass.

Witnessing this, the tens of thousands of Holy Paladins fell to their knees, shielding their eyes from the agonizing radiance.

"Die in the light, you scourge!" The Inquisitor roared one last time, then unleashed the devastating strike at Neo’s 10 meter form.

BUZZZZZ!

The descending strike completely cut throught both air and space, creating a vacuum that dragged all surrounding sound into absolute silence..

Buzzz! Buzzz! Buzzzzzzz!

The incoming holy destruction drew every breath from the observers, including the Solar Saint.

Solar Saint was confident this would kill the demon, and Yet— something bugged him.

Zephys did not retreat. Not even flinch.

Could he be hiding more cards?
