Chapter 37 - Finishing the wall

With his current team, Aric could handle the building of the wall very quickly, since all that was left was placing supporting beams and building the gates. But it didn't take up to a full hour, and everything was done, and the wall was standing.

Aric took a step back as he nailed the last piece of the wall into place, a look of satisfaction washing over his face.

[Congratulations, you have completed a major development in creating your empire.]

[You have leveled up, 4 free stat points.]

The notifications came in a few minutes after he was done with the wall.

"Alright, I'll use all the gold I gained to throw a feast," he said. He turned and faced the goblins and spirits.

"Alright, let's celebrate your hard work. You guys have done a lot today, so we will be having a feast," Aric said. The goblins responded with cheers of celebration when they heard that.

The spirits, on the other hand, had never eaten food before, so they didn't know what the fuss was all about, but they were soon going to find out.

"Alright, we need to get some things in place, but we can't stop here today. We still need to build a few more structures by the end of the day. I plan to head out with the spirits to do some hunting.

Ron, Lucas, and Gunam, you will be leading the goblins to build the house for the goblins. I trust that you already have good knowledge on how to follow a plan, right?" Aric asked them.

"Yes, Master. Whatever you have for us to do, we will get it done as fast as possible," Ron said.

"Good, I'll be leaving it in your hands then," Aric said and pulled up a plan. He rolled it out on the ground and started explaining.

He wanted to at least give a small explanation to Ron, Lucas, and Gunam before he left. Sure, they were all stronger and smarter now. He had used Appraisal on them, and he was shocked to see their stats.

Ron was the strongest, with stats that looked like:

[Level 15

Health: 100/100

Mana: 50/50

Strength: 20

Agility: 18

Endurance: 20

Intelligence: 16

Charisma: 8

Luck: 7]

His stats were shocking, and Aric was proud of them because Ron could take on a lot of tasks easily.

As for Lucas and Gunam, they both had the same stats, shockingly, but they were lower than Ron's.

[Level 14

Health: 100/100

Mana: 50/50

Strength: 18

Agility: 17

Endurance: 18

Intelligence: 15

Charisma: 7

Luck: 7]

This little difference made Ron the leader in Aric's eyes. Maybe that would change, but he didn't care for now.

He wanted to give them an explanation before he left. He bought the plan when the wall was almost over because he knew that was what he would be doing next, and because of the size of the building, it cost him 5000 gold to get.

"This will be a large communal house, similar to a longhouse or barracks-style lodge used by humans. As for materials, we will be using wood, as we have that in abundance.

The structure will be made using planks and wooden beams. Where and where they should be placed is already highlighted in the building plan; you just have to follow it down to the smallest detail.

The building will be around 12 meters wide and 30 meters long. It's a big building, but the space is very much needed to accommodate everyone for now.

It will have mainly one large sleeping area, which will be the main focus of the building, along with a few small separate rooms.

The large room is going to be the Main Sleeping Area, and that's why it is the largest space. It will take up about 60% of the entire building.

The rest will be storage, kitchen, dining, and separate rooms for you guys—the leaders. Let me get into the details of how you will do that," Aric said, but Ron stopped him.

"We understand your worry, Master, but you can trust us to follow everything down to the smallest details.

And if we have any issues, we can ask Lady Ariel. Since she will be here, and with her help, I'm sure nothing will prove too difficult," Ron assured. Lucas and Gunam nodded in agreement with what Ron said.

"Sigh, I guess I'm worrying too much about it. I'll leave it in your hands then," Aric said and passed the plan to Ron.

Ron took it and bowed before leaving. Immediately after Ron left, Ariel walked up to him. "Why are you leaving me?" she asked.

"I need you to watch the goblins and also to watch Elisa. I don't want her lashing out like before because she is surrounded by goblins, and you are the person I trust the most," Aric said. He completely won over her mind by saying she was the one he trusted the most.

"Fine, but don't be away for too long," she said.

"I won't," Aric responded. He grabbed his sword and headed for the gate.

"Alright, spirits, follow me," he said as he walked.

"Why does it have to be us?" Pentharis said as they followed, and as expected, it turned into a banter. Aric just faced forward and kept walking, not paying attention to them.

The force of thirty men from Ravenhold had made their way deep into the forest. They had met a few monsters on their way here, but they were mostly small, weak ones that the knights disposed of with a slash.

Captain Lewis kept his eyes open. From the location that had been shown, the spirit treasure should be around where they were.

He could already feel the spirit energy floating in the air, and that made him certain that they were in the right place. They would surely soon see the treasure.
