Chapter 25: Building the wall Part 3
"I said calm the fuck down," he barked at her.
She kept struggling, but her movements started getting slow. Aric felt like he was winning this, but then another burst of wind sent him flying off her back. He landed roughly and rolled on the ground before coming to a stop.
"Fuck, I thought you had to use words to cast," Aric complained and got up to his feet. He looked at the lady; she was breathing heavily, her chest heaving up and down, her arms extended like a beast.
"Talk about a crazy panic attack. What did these damn goblins do to her?" Aric asked. He didn't charge in again this time.
It looked like their little back and forth had really dug into her energy. She was tired and slowly calming down. He started approaching her with slow and steady steps, his hands raised to show he meant no harm.
"I understand that goblins hurt you, but these ones are not those ones. They are mine. I'm a tamer; I tamed them. Look at them, they were just working," Aric said in a calm and clear voice.
The lady slowly looked around, and indeed, the goblins had been working, but she still didn't want to accept that. She hated goblins. They took her away and put her through hell.
They also killed her teammates. All goblins deserved to die. She looked at Aric and spoke. "It doesn't matter. All goblins deserve to die for what they did," she yelled.
"Let's not be hasty to pass judgment now," Aric said while still approaching. "You can't put the sin of some on the heads of many. Many people kill, right? Then does that mean all humans should be killed?" Aric asked, trying to reason with her.
She didn't have a response to what he asked. It made sense to her, but she didn't want to let down. Her fear refused to allow her.
"Look at me, I am a half-elf. Ariel is an elf, yet we chose to save you. We knew that you would hate goblins, yet we brought you here to where our goblins are, putting them at risk.
Think about it. Would someone that wants to hurt you do all that for you?" Aric asked. He walked closer to her. She had slowly dropped her guard. She calmed down.
Aric looked at the sheet she wrapped around her. He was shocked that this sheet managed to stay on her body through all that tussle.

He came close to her and hugged her. She was surprised by that, but after a few seconds, she gave in to it.
"We promise we aren't going to hurt you. We know you have been through a lot, and we will help you get through it," Aric said.
Ariel had heard the commotion from this side of the stream. She had waited for Aric to call her, but he didn't, so she came here herself, only to see Aric hugging the lady.
She didn't understand why, but she felt hurt looking at the scene. She felt the urge to kill that lady. She forced herself to suppress that feeling. She walked up to Aric.
"What's happening?" she asked. Aric let go of the lady and turned to look at Ariel, and he immediately noticed the sour expression she was trying to hide on her face.
Aric was not some dense dude that didn't know when something was up. He knew immediately why Ariel reacted that way. He knew that if he didn't fix it now, the issue would fester and grow.
"I was trying to calm her down. She went into a rage and was attacking," Aric said.
"Oh, I see. If that's what it is, then there's nothing to worry about anymore, right?" she asked. Aric could hear a slight anger in her voice. She didn't believe him, or that was what he thought.
"I'll head back now. I haven't finished clearing the space. You should take her in to rest. She is heavily injured," Ariel said and walked away.
Aric watched her go. He knew he would have to talk to her properly soon, or it would be an issue. He wouldn't let some random human suddenly cause him issues.
'What the hell is with you and all the hugging today?' Aric questioned himself. He looked at the lady who stood there unmoving. She was still scared of the goblins, and because there were a lot here, she was scared to move.
Aric stretched out his hand to her. "Follow me back inside. You should rest. I'll get you some clothes and something to eat in a bit," he said. She took his hand, and he led her back into the house and to the bed.
He left her there and walked out. Immediately after he got out of the house, he took a deep breath. He was regretting saving this girl at this point because she was already causing issues. Though it was not her fault at all, he still felt tired.
He didn't immediately go to get her food. He got the string and sticks he had across the stream, planted the next side of the wall. He did it as fast as he could, and immediately after that, the goblins started digging while the others started carrying the planks he had already made.
It was after that that Aric returned to the house. He didn't have the time to make anything, so he spent a thousand on cup noodles and a simple female dress. He eyeballed the size and got one in black.
He made the cup noodles for her with hot water he actually bought. He stuck a plastic spoon into it, carried the clothes, and walked to the door. He knocked twice before pushing it open and walking in.
