Chapter 11: Tamer or Crafter

After they finished eating, Aric started cleaning up the plates and tools he used while Ariel went back to work on the house. She was almost done with it and was now even at roofing.

Aric was shocked by how much her progress was already. She took over the whole job from him and was literally doing it better than him.

It didn't take long anymore. The food had given her much-needed energy, and she was able to finish the house. As she hit the last nail into the wooden roof, a string of notifications flooded Aric.

[Congratulations, you have completed your first building. Level up, 10,000 gold gained, 4 free stat points.]

[Major step to creating your empire. Level up, level up, 10,000 gold, 6 free stat points.]

[Every empire needs buildings. Congratulations on taking the first step. Level up, level up, 10,000 gold, 4 free stat points, special item granted.]

[Congratulations, you have reached level 10. Special item box available, 6 free stat points.]

[Mana leveled up, Stamina leveled up, Health leveled up.]

Aric was stunned by what he saw. Did he get all that from just finishing one house? He could not even hold back his excitement. This was beyond unbelievable—it was simply crazy.

While he was still stunned, Ariel came to him. She waved her hands in front of him. "Hey, I think I'm done," she said with a smile, but then, all of a sudden, Aric hugged her. He wrapped his hands around her tightly.

"Thank you. Thank you for helping me finish this. You don't know how much this means to me," he said. Her face was already flushed. She wanted to push him away, but her arms didn't have the strength to.

Aric let go of her and walked to the cabin to take a look at it. Ariel stood there stunned, confused, and blushing.

Aric looked at the building. He, who was cast out, had managed to survive, and now he was growing. He had come to accept himself as Aric, and all of Aric's memories were his own as well.

He placed his hand on the building. He smiled brightly and then turned to look at Ariel. "Alright, let's get this place furnished up," he said.

Ariel was confused as to what he wanted to do, but then, all of a sudden, she saw two small beds appear, as well as other things like chairs made of wood, utensils, and some more for basic survival.

Her eyes opened wide. She looked at Aric with some fear in her eyes. What sort of sorcery did he pull off just now?

Aric noticed the apprehension in her eyes. "I know what I'm doing might not seem normal, but for the sake of your own safety, I can't tell you exactly what it is. So please forgive me," Aric said.

She let out a deep breath and then nodded her head in agreement with what he said. He didn't seem like a bad person, and by whatever means he was doing what he was doing, she didn't really care. She would still help him out. He was far better than all the people she knew.

She helped Aric take some of the things inside. The building didn't have lots of space, but they were able to arrange it in a way that gave each of them some good sleeping space.

After arranging everything, Ariel decided to take a nap inside. She might be strong, but the work still burned through her.

Aric, on the other hand, sat at the edge of the stream. He dipped his feet inside, allowing the cool water to wash over them. He watched as some little fishes swam past.

"Status screen," he called out.

[Host: Aric]

His stats had gone through a crazy change. A lot of things had gone up. He decided to finally share his stat points. He started by adding two to every attribute category.

[Attributes]

Strength: 13

Agility: 13

Endurance: 13

Intelligence: 17

Charisma: 12

Luck: 7

He was left with 14 stat points. He didn't really know what Luck and Charisma would do for him, but everything in the system had been useful so far, so he decided to buff them up a bit.

He added five to Luck, bringing it up to 12, and then he added one to Charisma, taking it to 13. He was left with eight points, and now he could invest them into his other attributes as well.

He added two to each, and that ended it.

[Attributes]

Strength: 15

Agility: 15

Endurance: 15

Intelligence: 19

Charisma: 13

Luck: 12

When he first arrived here, he was weak and unable to do anything with his body. But now, he had the strength and resources to survive, and he had also made a new friend along the way.

"It's been a few days, but I've grown a lot in just this time," he said, clenching his fist. He looked at his fist and smiled.

"Alright, time to check what goodies I got," he said in a giddy tone. The first thing he wanted was to check the special item that he had gotten and see what it was.

[Special item: Class Selection List]

[User can have multiple classes along his life. User can select one now.]

[Tamer Class: Tame any race of lesser intelligence.]

[Crafter Class: Create masterpieces in every craft.]

The system only gave him two classes to choose from. Aric was immediately conflicted. The system didn't give him lots of information to work with, but both classes looked good.

The Crafter Class, for sure, would help him build his empire, but the Tamer Class would be of great use because then he would be able to tame armies that would help him out.

He battled with himself for minutes, going back and forth in his mind, not reaching a solution. He thought of what the pros and cons of the situation could be, until finally, he decided on what to go with.
