Chapter 173: Chapter 173: Trash
"Sure." Mu Ran took a photo of the contract with her phone and sent it to a lawyer she knew, asking them to help check for any loopholes.
Half an hour later, Mu Ran said, "There’s no problem with the contract; you just need your parents to sign it."
"Okay, I got it."
Zhu Wenzhen hugged the contract.
His eyelashes quivered uncontrollably with anxiety.
If Mom and Dad refuse to sign, will he really have to sever ties with them?
He shouldn’t have said such harsh words.
After all, they don’t love him like they used to.
Zhu Wenzhen wiped his tears, but the tears kept flowing like a faucet, "Sister Mu Ran, I don’t want to cry, but my tears keep flowing, they’re awful."
"Oh, oh, oh, so awful, so awful." Mu Ran comforted the child, "Let sister treat you to a late-night snack, okay? We’ll eat some crawfish, watch a movie, and then skip school tomorrow, how about that?"
"Auntie! Skipping school is bad."
Chu Xijin couldn’t help but say.
Zhu Wenzhen cheered, "No school, no school!"
Mu Ran said under Xiao Jin’s disapproving gaze, "He’s too upset to study; let him relax. If you want to go to school, I’m not stopping you, okay."
After saying this, Mu Ran also felt that she wasn’t being a good guardian. What kind of guardian lets a child randomly skip school?
Excessive!
She deserved to be criticized.
But no amount of criticism could stop her craving for crawfish now.
"Sister Mu Ran, I want fried chicken. Oh my, if Brother Xiangxiang were here, he’d be thrilled!" Zhu Wenzhen said happily while spinning around.
Chu Xijin also leaned in to order a cup of milk tea.
Mu Ran was surprised, "Aren’t you supposed to be going to school?"
"Exceptions can be made occasionally."
Too sad to study either.
Chu Xijin silently added this in his heart.
"Alright." Mu Ran ordered a bunch of food, and watched Pig Hero with the two kids, engrossed, while cursing the destroyers of the fairy-tale world.
The biological clocks of the two children were quite regular.
While watching TV, they fell asleep, and Mu Ran tucked them into the sofa bed, tidied up the snacks, and then went outside to call Zhu Zhuting, "Wenzhen came to my house; are you aware?"
"Yes, I know. How’s he feeling now?"
"His mood has stabilized, but we just drafted a succession contract with a lawyer. If you want this son, just sign it; if you don’t, don’t sign." Mu Ran said lazily, with an attitude of detachment.
"Of course we’ll sign; I won’t have another child in my life. As for his dad, I’ll make him sign, and if he refuses, I’ll kill him myself."
"Fine. Come pick him up tomorrow night; I’ll take the kids to Disney tomorrow." Mu Ran said.
"Thank you for taking care of him."
"No problem; you didn’t complain when I suggested skipping school."
"Life must have its balance; missing one day of school isn’t a big deal. Still, thank you."
"No problem, bye."
"Alright."
The chill of a winter night was biting. Mu Ran tightened her coat around herself but suddenly stopped as the familiar silhouette appeared before her.
Xiao Yu’an saw her back stiffen visibly, then smirked and teased, "Director Mu has a good mindset, already worrying about someone else’s family affairs right after a breakup."
"Thanks for the compliment; I’m indeed doing great."
Mu Ran’s emotions were fragmented, complex, and bittersweet.
"Director Mu, you’re calling me, right?" A cheerful voice sounded; it was Yun Fei. Today he had specially dressed up, his naturally outstanding figure and features displayed clearly, like an exotic prince.
He stood beside Mu Ran, too obedient, too soft.
Xiao Yu’an froze on the spot, watching the boy happily follow the girl into the house.
He remained where he was, staring intently, as if trying to see through the people before him.
His tender eyes showed no trace of emotions, as if filled with cold mist, spreading madly, slowly seeping out a thin layer of moisture, piercing him deeply, turning the scene into a void.
Before looking for her, Xiao Yu’an thought he had to find her and couldn’t let her drag his heart like this. But seeing Mu Ran, he understood what a fatal blow meant.
She had fallen for someone else.
"Mu Ran..."
The man’s voice was hoarse, filled with deep affection.
Mu Ran blinked, forcing back tears that were welling up, "It’s late; you should return."
"It’s late; you’re bringing a man home, aren’t you?" Xiao Yu’an’s expression suddenly turned brooding and violent, looking at Yun Fei as if he were staring at a deceased.
Yun Fei shrank from fear.
The man’s gaze was so terrifying, it felt like he held a weapon, and the next second, Yun Fei’s head would roll.
"We’ve broken up; that’s my business!" Mu Ran erupted, confronting him. The man who had cheated seemed so righteous now; she turned to him, her narrow eyes coldly warning, "Xiao Yu’an, don’t always take my words as joke. I’ve been kind to you; if you dare..."
Xiao Yu’an stared at her face, once enchanting, now stabbing into his heart, not letting her finish her sentence.
A sudden kiss froze time.
When the man’s cool lips touched hers, Mu Ran’s eyes widened involuntarily.
Because of this unexpected ’attack,’ her heart was in chaos, so she could only see his quivering eyelashes.
This kiss carried a bit of alcohol’s bitterness and some amorous sweetness, drawing her deeper. Xiao Yu’an wanted to merge her into his body, confessing he wasn’t one to be overly obsessed with beauty, but with her, all his rationality crumbled.
Streetlights shone on the road above them, illuminating him and her locked in an embrace.
Xiao Jin secretly watched, fists clenched.
If they’re truly heartbroken, perhaps... it’s okay... as long as they don’t have kids, right?
No, no!!!
Can’t be soft-hearted; they can’t continue this.
Mu Ran also struggled, raising a hand to slap him, but seeing the man’s sad eyes made her slowly drop her hand.
"Make him leave." Xiao Yu’an caressed her waist, whispering seductively near her ear, "Otherwise, I don’t know what I’ll do."
Mu Ran not only didn’t say anything but kicked him angrily, "Get the hell out, and you want to threaten me into listening to you? Do you really think I’m easy to bully?!!"
Xiao Jin quickly messaged Yun Fei, urging him to leave before he lost his life.
Yun Fei was puzzled, but under Xiao Jin’s nearly frantic urging, he left.
Xiao Yu’an sneered softly, "Trash."
