Chapter 177: All Eyes On Me

Rebecca’s POV

The SUV came to a smooth halt exactly one hour later in front of a sprawling, glass-walled estate. It was magnificent, looking more like a five-star luxury resort than a traditional werewolf packhouse. The sheer scale of the architecture was breathtaking, with clean geometric lines and glowing tier-lights that illuminated the perfectly manicured landscape. When the guard opened my door, I stepped out onto the polished marble pavement, and my heart nearly stopped.

The courtyard was absolutely teeming with people. Men in tailored suits and women in elegant, flowing dresses walked the grounds, all of them radiating an immense aura of power, wealth, and royal status. The air was thick with a confusing cocktail of dominant pheromones, making my head spin. I instinctively pulled the edges of Stephanie’s coat tighter around my frame, suddenly feeling incredibly small and entirely out of my depth.

"What is this?" I whispered, my voice trembling as I looked around. I had thought Kaden brought me along for a simple pack business meeting—a quiet trip where I would wait safely in a distant corner, out of sight.

"The Yearly Alpha Summit," Kaden said, his voice low and tight. He adjusted the lapels of his blazer, his sharp eyes scanning the crowd with a practiced vigilance. He didn’t look down at me, but I knew he saw the way I flinched in shock.

As I looked at the glamorous high-society women around me, a sudden wave of intense humiliation washed over me. Even though Kaden had sent up an expensive red gown, the heavy silver collar was completely exposed on my neck, glinting cruelly under the courtyard lights. The dress was incredibly tight, clinging like a second skin to my slim, curvy figure, accentuating every line of my waist and the slope of my hips with a brazen tightness that felt way too exposed. Every female wolf here was dripping in diamonds and pack crests; I was draped in the universal symbol of subjugation. I felt like a dark stain on a white silk sheet.

A tall, broad-shouldered Alpha approached us with a wide, fake grin. "Alpha King Kaden! Welcome. You made it just in time," he said, shaking Kaden’s hand. His eyes quickly drifted over Kaden’s shoulder, landing directly on me. His brows arched in intense curiosity, his gaze lingering on the silver band around my throat. "And this... this must be your personal maid?"

Before Kaden could even open his mouth to answer, a cold, mocking voice cut through the air behind us.

"No, she is his sex slave."

I froze, the blood running cold in my veins. We turned to see a strange man leaning against a sleek sports car. He sauntered toward us, his hands casually shoved into his pockets, his eyes raking over my body with a hunger that made my skin crawl.

"I heard the rumors that you kept the traitor as a plaything, Kaden. No wonder," the stranger sneered, stopping right in front of me. His gaze lingered heavily on my chest and the curve of my tight hips, completely ignoring the fact that I was a living, breathing person. "Damn, she’s beautiful. Even a slave collar can’t hide a body like that."

Another Alpha joined the circle, his dark eyes filled with open lust as he stared at the exposed skin of my back where the dress dipped into a deep V. "So the news is true. This is why you wouldn’t let your council execute her, Kaden? She’s a masterpiece. A man would have to be dead not to appreciate assets like those."

My head spun. The collective weight of their predatory auras pressed against me, suffocating my human senses. I had expected these powerful men to look at me with absolute disgust or hatred because Kaden had branded me a traitor. Instead, they were undressing me with their eyes, treating me like a prize animal on display.

"I hope you’re planning on sharing," the first stranger chuckled, his voice oily and disgusting. He looked directly at Kaden, a provocative glint in his eye. "A beauty like that deserves to be enjoyed by more than one man. Will you let us have some fun with her tonight?"

The air around Kaden instantly turned freezing. His aura flared with a terrifying, crushing power that made the lesser wolves in the vicinity visibly stiffen. His scent—usually a crisp mix of cedarwood and mint—became sharp, suffocating, and heavy with lethal intent. His hand twitched at his side, his long fingers curling into a tight fist as the veins along his forearm bulged against the fabric of his suit.

"Control your mouth, Zach," Kaden growled, his voice dropping into a register so low it vibrated through the stone beneath our feet—a dangerous promise of immediate violence. "Before I rip your tongue out of your head."

Before a bloodbath could start right there on the steps, the host Alpha stepped between them, raising his hands in a defensive gesture. "Gentlemen, please. Respect yourselves and our guests," he said firmly, though even his eyes lingered on my chest a second too long. He turned, clearly anxious to defuse the situation, and gestured to a nearby steward. "Show Alpha King Kaden to his penthouse suite."

Kaden didn’t say a single word. He turned on his heel and began to march toward the grand glass doors, his stride furious and loud. I followed closely behind him, my head bowed in a desperate attempt to shield myself. But even with my eyes locked onto the floor, I could feel the heat of a dozen predatory gazes burning into my back and hips as I walked away.

The moment we stepped into the private elevator, the doors slid shut, cutting off the leering crowd. Kaden slammed his hand against the panel, the heavy thud rattling the enclosure as his breathing became heavy and ragged. He turned on me like a predator cornering its prey, pinning me against the mirrored wall of the elevator. His green eyes were completely gone, replaced by a dangerous, molten gold that belonged entirely to his wolf.

"From this moment on," he hissed, his face inches from mine, his hot breath fanning across my cheeks, "you do not look at them. You do not speak to them. You stay behind me, or you stay locked in the room. Do you understand me, Rebecca?"

I nodded quickly, my breath caught in my throat as the sheer force of his command washed over me.

When we reached the penthouse suite, Kaden kicked off his shoes, his movements sharp, restless, and wild. The suite was magnificent, boasting panoramic views of the city, but neither of us cared. Kaden paced the length of the hardwood floor like a caged beast. He walked over to the bar, his hands trembling slightly with residual rage as he grabbed a crystal decanter. He poured himself a glass of dark amber whiskey and downed it in one fluid gulp, the ice clinking sharply against the glass. He was absolutely furious.

He turned and looked at me as I instinctively walked over to the farthest corner of the room, trying to make myself small against the plush drapes. The sight of me in the tight, revealing red dress seemed to make his jaw ache. I could see the conflict warring in his eyes. He knew those hungry Alphas downstairs had looked at me like a five-course meal. If he left me here locked away, one of them would surely find a way to break into the room. But taking me down there meant facing an entire ballroom of wolves who wanted to touch what belonged to him. The very dress he bought to display his ownership had turned into a dangerous trap for his sanity.

Fuming, he set the empty glass down with a heavy snap and glared at me. "Stay beside me tonight," he ordered, his expression hardening into a rigid mask of cold Alpha authority. "And don’t you dare speak a word to anyone."

He walked over to my corner and offered me his arm, his muscles completely tense under the fabric of his suit jacket. "Let’s go. And remember, Rebecca... you belong to me. Don’t let them forget it."
