"But where does it come from?" Anna pressed. "And why are you all so casual about something this powerful?"
"Me?" Harumi asked. "Frank shared it with us a while ago."
"Yeah," Matsuo nodded. "One of the reasons we’ve grown so strong is the System. We’ve been leveling up, learning skills, and progressing much faster than everyone else."
"What?! I had no idea such power even existed..." Olivia tilted her head, a little tipsy from the beer. "Wait, are you talking about video games? I-I don’t get it..."
"It’s a power that originates from my father’s legacy," Frank answered. He opened his palm, revealing a swirl of digital pixels intertwined with spiritual energy—the very essence of the System they now all shared.
