Chapter 56: Chapter 56: Shameless Kevin

But this time, hearing Raphael’s voice did nothing to boost the Survivors’ morale. They still looked tense, and some even had a flicker of despair in their eyes.

"How are we supposed to fight this? Five hundred Falcon-shaped Mist Phantoms split across eighteen ships is just twenty per ship. But the numbers just keep growing. If we keep this up, we’ll wipe ourselves out before they’re gone."

"What the hell is this The Eldritch World? We haven’t even faced the real monster yet, and we’re gonna get buried by its minions. We should just blow up our ships and take them all down with us!"

In a second, hopelessness spread across every deck. The survivors’ fighting spirit dropped like a rock.

Seeing this, Raphael gritted her teeth and spoke firmly. "Are you really giving up on survival this soon? What about the ones who just died? Grab your weapons and keep fighting! It’s not over yet. We’ve got reinforcements coming!"

Hearing that, the Survivors weren’t fully convinced.

But before anyone could ask, a dark shadow popped up on the far horizon.

Some watchers on the lookouts raised their binoculars and saw a Two-Masted Sloop with both sails out, zooming right at them.

"Holy crap, it’s actually reinforcements!"

"Look at it go! That boat’s way faster than ours!"

"Stop staring and fight! Once that ship gets here, we can team up and kill that beast!"

Pumped up again, the survivors across all eighteen ships grabbed their weapons, hoisted buckets, and lifted the water hoses.

Seawater shot into the sky. Gunfire and glowing attacks kept pummeling the Falcon-shaped Mist Phantoms.

Seeing that, Raphael finally let out a breath and relaxed a bit.

She looked toward the approaching ship, frowning hard. Just a moment ago, she’d tried reaching out to Celula and Monchhichi, but got absolutely nothing back.

And the deck of that approaching ship was completely empty.

Right as Raphael felt a chill, the Mist Phantom King in the center of the sea was staring hard at that same Two-Masted Sloop.

It knew exactly what that boat looked like.

Especially that one Survivor who had nearly knocked it into the water.

The thought of being nearly sunk by a lone Survivor made the King absolutely furious.

With a roar, the King stomped its foot hard. Crimson fog poured from its tentacles, spawning five hundred more Falcon-shaped Mist Phantoms that shot straight for the Two-Masted Sloop.

The Falcon-shaped Mist Phantoms flew fast.

They didn’t slow down once they were over the boat. Instead, they split up and dove into the hull from every direction.

Clearly, after dealing with the seawater spray, they’d already learned how to handle it.

But no water spray hit them. In fact, they met zero resistance and slipped right into the ship.

Seeing this, the Survivors fighting the Falcon-shaped Mist Phantoms just stared in shock.

"What’s going on? Don’t the Survivors on that ship even try to stop them?"

"They’re just letting monsters swarm the cabin? Do they not care about their own lives?"

"Are you kidding me? Are they here to help us or just come to die?"

As the Survivors started talking among themselves, the Mist Phantom King squinted its eyes, looking deep in thought.

But while both the King and the Survivors were completely focused on the Two-Masted Sloop, three Fish Fiends suddenly popped up on the water surface, about five hundred meters behind the King.

They formed a triangle and carefully popped their heads above the water.

Just like the last time they sank the lifeboat, each Fish Fiend reached into its mouth and pulled out a Glock 19. Three dark barrels lined up, aiming straight at the old ship beneath the Mist Phantom King’s feet.

Suddenly, the Mist Phantom King felt a spike of danger from behind. It whipped around instantly, only to see those same barrels already locked onto it.

Roar!

The King let out a deafening roar and instantly threw up a protective barrier around the ship.

But it was too late. The shield cracked and couldn’t stop the three Fireball rounds.

With three loud booms, massive fireballs tore right through the old ship’s hull.

Three charred holes blasted open at the stern. The edges were still burning, spewing thick black smoke.

Seeing the damage, the Mist Phantom King flew into a rage and yanked a Survivor straight out of the cabin.

The Survivor was already possessed by a Mist Phantom. His eyes bulged as he roared in a human voice, "You damn ant! Sneaking up on me again! I’ll make sure you die in pieces!"

Before the echo faded, the King opened its massive jaws and unleashed a shockwave. Crimson fog shot into the surrounding water, rippling out in wave after wave of bloody shockwaves.

Even though the Fish Fiends had already dove ten meters down, the bloody shockwave still hit them.

The crimson energy tore their bodies apart, shredding them into pieces.

Sensing the life signs of the three Fish Fiends vanish, the King let out an angry growl.

But the rage wasn’t gone. It knew the real mastermind behind this, Kevin, was still out there.

With that thought, it turned its head toward the approaching Two-Masted Sloop and narrowed its eyes.

Just moments ago, five hundred Falcon-shaped Mist Phantoms had swarmed into that ship’s cabin. Yet not a single one had flown out since.

That was completely unnatural.

The King wasn’t the only one to notice. The Survivors saw it too.

Raphael stood inside the wheelhouse, her eyes narrowed into sharp slits as she locked onto the Two-Masted Sloop. "How did they pull that off? Hundreds of Mist Phantoms went in, and zero came out? This is seriously creepy."

Just as Raphael was trying to make sense of it, a massive shadow swooped right over her head.

She looked up to see the Mist Phantom King riding a ten-meter-long Dragon Mist Phantom, charging straight for the Two-Masted Sloop.

Behind them, the old ship the King had been riding was already taking on water. With the stern blown open, seawater was flooding the cabin, and the hull was tipping over fast.

Seeing this, Raphael’s eyes widened. She shouted, "Careful! That monster is trying to hijack your Two-Masted Sloop!"

While yelling, she sent a message to Celula and Monchhichi.

But her shouts and messages fell into dead air. No response came back.

The Survivors on the nearby ships noticed this too. But they were barely holding on themselves, with zero ability to help the Two-Masted Sloop.

Watching the rescue fleet about to be torn apart by the Mist Phantom King, the Survivors looked on in pity.

The Mist Phantom King moved incredibly fast.

The moment it landed, it charged straight into the Two-Masted Sloop’s cabin.

Unlike normal ships, the inside of this Two-Masted Sloop’s cabin was a massive open space. The floor was covered with Bloodmist Crystals left behind by the Mist Phantoms.

It was obvious. Those five hundred Falcon-shaped Mist Phantoms had been slaughtered in one go inside this space, which was why not a single one escaped.

After so many battles, the Mist Phantom King had lost nearly a thousand Falcon-shaped Mist Phantoms. That was a heavy cost for it.

Thinking of this, the Mist Phantom King let out a low, growling hiss.

But before it could vent its rage, a row of thick pipes suddenly burst from the ceiling of the cabin.

Right after, a flood of bloody seawater gushed out.

The cabin flooded fast, and the water quickly reached the Mist Phantom King’s ankles.

Caught off guard, the Mist Phantom King’s eyes shot wide open.

Even though it didn’t dissolve like normal Mist Phantoms did in the water, it couldn’t swim. If it got submerged, its power would drop fast.

Realizing this, it dropped the thought of hunting Kevin for now and immediately tried to get out of this hellish cabin.

But the second it turned around, a five-meter-tall Elite Fish Fiend suddenly slammed into it.

A flash of golden light filled the air. Heavy pain and a wave of dizziness hit it instantly.

The Mist Phantom King stared at the Elite Fish Fiend in shock, and its anger boiled over.

What the Elite Fish Fiend was holding was the Lance of Longinus, summoned by Kevin.

The Mist Phantom King’s vitality was just too overwhelming. It far exceeded the damage Kevin could deal right now, which is why it wasn’t killed on the spot.

But the Elite Fish Fiend was still way out of its league compared to the Mist Phantom King.

With a casual wave of its hand, the Mist Phantom King tore the Elite Fish Fiend and its Lance of Longinus into shreds.

The King’s chest now had a dark, permanent hole in it. It wouldn’t heal, and it throbbed with a dull pain.

It sucked in a sharp breath. Ignoring the pain, it immediately tried to get away from this damn cabin.

But the moment it lifted its leg, a heavy tug pulled it back.

Looking down, it realized that at some point, two Fish Fiends had wrapped around its ankles, locking it with heavy chains.

Right after that, a sudden, intense feeling of falling hit it.

Clank-clank-clank. The sound of metal chains dragging echoed.

The Mist Phantom King followed the chains’ direction and froze in shock.

These weren’t normal chains. They were heavy-duty ship anchor chains, and they were already sinking into the sea floor.

Did those two Fish Fiends just use their own bodies as anchor hooks?

The Mist Phantom King was absolutely furious.

It roared, slamming its fists against the chains under its feet.
