Chapter 66: Prove it

Carmen

His words were one thing, but the arrogant smile on his face made me want to bash the gun I held right into his skull.

I pointed the gun at him, and instead he beamed with excitement, like he simply found the entire thing to be a comedy skit.

"I quite like the sight of you pointing a gun to my head," he said.

"You don’t think I’ll shoot you? Maybe I’ll just damn us both to hell," I said, intent behind my words, but he was already shaking his head with a hint of a smile on his lips.

"I am quite confident that you won’t shoot me! If you do, then you’re dead too, and the last thing you want is for Bianca to win!" he sighed as he leaned against the wall, looking right at me with his blue eyes.

His eyes curved, squinting slightly, his head tilted to the side in his signature pose as he continued to speak.

"Put the gun down!" he uttered with more force in his tone, basically warning me not to test him any longer.

I lowered the gun as I continued to stand there, ignoring the way he tapped beside him, asking me to return to my previous position.

"I’m not going to be a prisoner, Nico!" I told him, feeling the anger in my belly tighten, but he simply continued to look at me like he found something vastly amusing.

"How are you going to stop me? You are weak and broke, considering your debt to me," which only made me glare harder at him in annoyance.

He pulled his legs back as he leaned against the wall, his legs stretched on either side of him as he tapped the space beside him again.

"Come sit!" he said, and as pissed off as I was, I knew things would only get worse if I refused.

Slowly, I moved over to sit beside him, leaving enough space between us as I did, only to watch him close the distance by shifting closer until our legs were touching.

"If you want me to change my mind, then let down your pride a little, Carmen! Beg me!" he said like it was the simplest thing in the world.

"When have I ever said no to you?" he continued, and I went ahead and scoffed loudly.

I was the chicken he was fattening up for kill day, something he would never admit to. Was I really supposed to believe he bought me for a billion dollars simply because he wanted to fuck me?

It would have been easier to wait for me to be bought and sold to a whorehouse, then pay a subsidized fee to get me.

"I don’t trust you," I directly told him, allowing my words to settle in the air as I looked away from him, fixing my eyes on the ground.

It was something he was already aware of, nothing new, as I continued to speak, trying to fix the damage I caused.

"....but I promise. No more secrets!" I told him, that much I could do as I turned my gaze to the side to look at him, only to see him staring hard at the wall on the opposite side of the room.

His gaze dark and heavy-lidded as I heard my heart pounding harder in my chest as I fixed my eyes on him.

Was I worried? Very. Nico wasn’t predictable, and it would be foolish for me to think he hadn’t meant those words he said.

He didn’t respond immediately, which made me feel even more unsettled and made me speak again as I sat there. I couldn’t afford to become a prisoner.

"I... I was wrong and—"

"Carmen!" his voice came out sharp and deep as he called my name, like a whip, jerking his gaze toward me as he met my eyes.

"Please, Nico..." I begged. Yes, my father had taught me a lot, but without any tools at my disposal, how was I supposed to build anything?

I didn’t have men or muscle, and worse, I allowed myself to be kidnapped and sold. The rules applied. Unless I could pay him back, I was his.

Another mistake I made was allowing myself to get caught.

"I’ll do..." I began to speak, only to hear him interrupt, slightly shaking his head before I could continue.

"If you’re going to beg with your mouth, then you should prove it with your actions. I don’t believe you! You would find a way if the situation presents itself," he said, and it was the truth.

"Show me why I shouldn’t just lock you up, since you’re proving to be more trouble than you’re worth," he said as my eyes widened in shock as I listened to him.

His gaze was intense, and his eyes showed something I was already familiar with. His hands hung on his knees, but I could tell that he wanted to reach toward me and touch me.

I swallowed as I reached toward him, climbing right into his lap. He didn’t say a word; he simply leaned back and watched me as I watched him.

His eyes slid down his chest and toward his pants as I reached for the black belt and slowly began to undo it as fast as I could.

My heart beat louder in my chest as I pulled it from the hook and tossed it, unbuttoning his pants as I willed my hands not to shake.

I could already see the bulge in his pants, and his gaze settled on me.

’The faster you go, the quicker this would end,’ I thought, willing myself not to stop.

Gulping, I dipped my hand into his pants and grabbed him. Warm and pulsing in my hand as I felt the length of him, still as big as I recalled.

He was beautiful as my hand traced the tip, expecting to hear Nico speak and hurry me along, but when I glanced at him, all he did was continue to stare at me.

Pulling my gaze away, I lowered myself to the floor, glad that for once I wasn’t naked as I moved my face right to his pulsing member.
