Chapter 114: No!
Carmen
"I’m not sleeping with you, Nico! I’m not!"
I tried pulling my hand free from his grip, but he quickly made it clear that escaping him was impossible unless he decided to let go.
"I’ve heard you say it," he responded calmly, "but I don’t believe it."
Rage settled heavily in my chest as I glared at him.
"Sex. Clearly that’s one of the reasons why you think you can toy with me and act however you like," I snapped before continuing without hesitation.
"The companies in the north—half of them are in my name. I can leave you and find another partner if you’re making it clear that you can’t work with me."
My breathing sharpened as I stared directly into his eyes.
"And don’t threaten me, Nico. You can kill me? Fine. I can kill you too."
His blue eyes remained far too relaxed for how furious I felt.
He still sat against the edge of the table, my wrist firmly trapped in his hand while my ripped blouse hung open, exposing the black lace bra beneath.
His gaze slowly dropped from my face to my chest.
The anger inside me burned hotter.
"You won’t do that..." he began.
"Try me," I cut in immediately, my chest rising and falling with quick breaths.
"You won’t try it because I won’t kill you," he replied coldly. "I’ll kill everyone else."
The threat came easily from him, but I refused to flinch.
"I’ll inform Bianca about the real will. Gordon will make a full confession. You’ll lose all rights to those businesses."
I fired back instantly.
"Not if I swear you’re trying to alter the will with Gordon. The court case would drag on for years. Evidence? What evidence is left with my father dead?"
I knew better than to let him control the conversation.
But then a slow smile spread across his lips as he gestured toward the camera mounted in the room.
"Isn’t this conversation enough proof to convince Bianca to work with me?" he asked smoothly. "Together, we’ll destroy you, and you know it. Don’t test me, Carmen."
His voice had deepened noticeably now.
"If you push me into a corner, I’ll push back harder, and you won’t be able to handle the pressure."
Anger sharpened every word he spoke.
I jerked against his grip again, but he still refused to let me go.
"The deal from the beginning," he continued, "was that I would get what I want, and in exchange, I’d give you what you want. Something that still hasn’t happened."
For a second, I genuinely struggled to process what he was implying.
"You’re saying that because I’ve been too sick to sleep with you, you decided to back out of your side of the deal?"
"Isn’t it obvious?" he asked.
His gaze held mine steadily, and the hunger in his eyes almost made me believe him despite knowing exactly what kind of man he was.
I tried pulling away from him again, but at this point I already knew it was useless.
"Bullshit," I snapped, making it clear I didn’t believe him for a second.
Still, the heated way he looked at my chest made me want to squirm.
Instead, I glanced away from him toward the wall.
"I’m not sleeping with you," I repeated firmly.
Without warning, he tugged me closer until I stood directly between his legs, my chest nearly level with his face.
I instantly tried leaning back, only to feel his arm wrap tightly around my waist, holding me in place.
His mouth hovered dangerously close to my bra.
"Nico," I warned sharply, refusing to give in to the tension that always seemed to exist between us.
I didn’t want to get tangled up with someone like him.
Not after everything that had happened over the past months.
"You ordered everyone killed, Nico," I said, forcing myself to focus. "You attacked the church and killed them all. Are you trying to involve the military? Are you trying to get us all killed?"
Frustration rose when it became obvious he wasn’t truly listening.
I felt his teeth brush against the edge of my bra, right where my nipple strained beneath the fabric.
I knew exactly what he was doing.
And I knew better than to let myself react.
"Apart from what we already have together, I don’t want to be associated with you," I continued, meaning every word. "You keep making enemies and you don’t even seem to care."
I gritted my teeth as I felt him bite harder against the sensitive flesh beneath the bra.
My eyes fluttered shut despite myself.
"Why?" he murmured lazily. "Because you’re scared? They don’t know it’s me. There’s nothing to worry about."
Before I could respond, his hands moved again.
He grabbed the bra and dragged it down roughly while holding my other arm firmly enough to stop me from pushing him away.
Then he lowered his head immediately.
His mouth closed around my nipple, sucking on it slowly like he couldn’t get enough.
The low sound of pleasure that escaped him did something unbearable to me.
"Nico..." I gasped.
The anger in my voice had weakened.
His tongue slid teasingly against my breast before he spoke again.
"If you’re going to say my name, then say it louder."
A quiet chuckle left him as his teeth grazed lightly over the sensitive peak again, sending a sharp thrill down my spine.
My eyes closed tightly.
I felt him pull down the other side of my bra, exposing the rest of my chest to his gaze as he stared openly at me.
"Nico, stop," I gasped again.
But his mouth returned immediately, every slow suck and teasing bite threatening to drive me insane.
Then suddenly he pulled away.
Saliva glistened faintly against my nipple as he finally lifted his head and looked directly into my eyes.
"No," he said simply.
Then he pushed himself away from the table and released my arms, which he had been holding pinned behind my back.
