Chapter 331: Worm

Auchhh!

’Fuck! Why is my whole body aching..." Whispering these words, Dhruv moved out of his bed noticing a severe aching in his whole body.

He was about to summon a healing flame to cure it... but for some reason, it went on its own. Confused by how his body is acting he decided to freshen up. After all a nice bath was enough to make one relax.

Moving his muscles Dhruv was about to enter his washroom when something caught his attention. There were multiple notifications displayed in front of him. Curious he read them.

[You have killed a monster: Cerebrath’s Lesser Worm.]

[You have earned 1.5 M CC]

[You have earned exp.]

[You have leveled up.]

[You have leveled up.]

[....]

[....]

[You have leveled up.]

[You have gained 150 essence points.]

"AYO, WTF is this..."

Flabbergasted by all the notifications, Dhruv couldn’t help but read them all once again. Hitting his cheeks, he read them again... but the content remained the same no matter how many times he read them.

"When... and how did I kill a -w-worm!?... and what even is a Cerebrath’s Lesser Worm?" With so many questions at the same time, Dhruv didn’t know where to begin.

’Sigh! Let’s first calm down...’ Creating a wave of healing flame, Dhruv calmed himself as much as he could.

Now that he was looking at everything with a calm enough mind, a few things began to make sense.

’W-Was I infected by this worm by the monster with whom I made eye contact? B-but how is that possible? There is no way it could’ve infected me from that far, not considering there were two layers of barrier between us...’

No matter how much Dhruv tried to deny the claim, the evidence was saying otherwise. In the end, he had to accept the fact that the monster had indeed infected him somehow without him even knowing.

Sigh!!

’There are just too many unknowns in this Cosmos... I can’t be this confident because of my little uniqueness...’ Sighing, Dhruv thought of how he was getting careless more and more.

After the evolution he had begun to think that he was some kind of protagonist. The boost in his stats further fueled his ego and made him more and more carefree during meetings with monsters.

But now after meeting something far above his caliber, he didn’t have any choice but to rethink his actions. All in all the encounter with the wormy monster proved to be a good lesson for him.

’At what tier was the monster for it to give me this many coins just from killing a part of it? A lesser worm!?’

Even though Dhruv does not remember anything about the monster he felt that this wasn’t the full extent of its power. He couldn’t help but feel that the barrier had indeed helped him somewhat.

A forced smile appeared as he read the other notifications.

The coins weren’t the only thing either. He had gained a total of 10 levels from the worm, 150 essence, and after opening the status, he found his core saturation had increased by 5% as well.

’Sigh! Whatever it was, I don’t wish to meet it anymore.’ Even with so much reward, Dhruv wasn’t in the mood to cross paths with that creature again.

A bit lost, Dhruv entered the washroom to freshen up. Taking his time relaxing he began bathing with warm water. After soaking for half an hour he eventually got out of it.

’These will just burn if I were to transform...’ Placing the normal clothes back, he created some with illusion and left the house.

Summoning his wings, Dhruv soared into the sky once more, intending to observe the island as a whole. While observing the island bit by bit, his gaze suddenly landed on an area where a mountain of rocks was placed.

’I don’t remember any mountain being here...’ Thinking this, Dhruv moved toward the area to check what it was.

’Is this from the spider dungeon? Who brought these rocks here and why...’ Dhruv thought.

To clear any doubt that they were valuable, Dhruv even checked them with his [Collector’s Glass], but nothing came up. They were exactly what they looked like... rocks—black rocks to be precise.

’Whose work is this...’ Thinking, Dhruv opened a connection and connected with all his guardians at the same time.

[Everyone, come to the meeting room.]

Getting affirmation from all five of them, Dhruv cut the connection and began to wander around the island on foot. As he was moving, something caught his attention again.

Here and there, he could see stains of purple blood on the sand. These were signs of battle, and Dhruv knew that.

’Did anything invade the island?’ Scratching his head, he focused some of his senses on the marks. Quickly, he noticed there weren’t any lost connections, which meant nobody had died.

’Nothing serious happened, I guess?’ Taking a note to ask Alaric about this, Dhruv began to move toward the living area.

"Morning, my lord."

Felling his presence multiple people greeted him.

"Morning..." Smiling he replied to them all.

"You evolved, My lord?"

"Yes!.."

As Dhruv moved through the island, he began meeting with more and more people. As time passed greetings began coming from all sides and he began noticing a change.

Before, mostly the people from the tribe would be the ones to greet him formally... but at the moment, almost all the people from the island were calling him ’My lord’.

There wasn’t a hint of awkwardness in their words, as if they weren’t people from the modern world and this is how they have always been talking.

Keeping notice of all this, he moved toward his house. On the way, he met with Lyra but didn’t disturb her and moved forward. After meeting with the guardian he intends to meet with others as well.

Before even entering the house, he sensed the presence of them all. Activating his eyes, he looked at their condition. Soon enough, he found a change.

’Vexar evolved to Tier IV...’ Curious about the evolution Vexar took, Dhruv entered the meeting room hastily.

"So Aurora–"

"I’m telling you, fight with me just onc–"

Sensing the presence of their master, all five of them fell silent. Standing from their chairs, they bowed to his authority.

Signaling them to sit down, Dhruv opened his mouth, "Good morning, guys... how have you been?"
