Chapter 244: Ignite

A small quantity of sand began to displace from its position as something invisible began to move between it.

If anyone had the power to see invisible things, they would have noticed that a white tiny tentacle that didn’t have any origin was moving in a particular direction.

After reaching its location, it slithered into the sand in hopes of hiding itself from someone. Having its place secured, it began to listen to the conversation that was happening between two people.

The conversation was happening between a man and a woman, and by being there, it was making a few things sure. The only purpose of the tentacle was to let everything flow as it was supposed to in the first place.

The tentacles leisurely continued to hide there as everything was good for a few moments. Like every good thing, it didn’t last forever as well. Sensing a disturbance, it became agitated making the sand around him disturbed as well.

Calming itself down it focused on the target once again. The result came out the same as it could almost feel that something wasn’t going the way it was supposed to be.

With a quiet push, it tried to slither out of the sand to reach the ones it was listening to. Having achieved success, it began to move toward the two unsuspecting targets.

Suddenly, midway through its journey, it noticed something. Stopping in instantly it tried to confirm if it was right. Feeling that everything was back on its right track once again, it slithered back and hid itself in the sand, starting to observe its target once again.

Its target was a man with long white hair, and there were multiple tattoos on his body as well, but two of them were something that it didn’t like. One was adorned on its target’s back in the shape of some kind of wings, and the second one was on the front.

It spectated as the man with white hair continued to have a conversation with the lady. After finishing the conversation, he began to move toward the sea. Seeing this, the tentacle instantly got into its toes—how?--- and put every bit of his sense on him.

It had done this because it knew that after a conversation like this, its target had the tendency to make things difficult for him. Not wanting to let that happen again, it was there to stop it from the very beginning.

...

Sigh!

Looking at the endless reflection of the sky in front of him, Dhruv sighed, remembering his conversation with his mother.

After that conversation, there was something that he remembered. He finally knew something about the tattoos that were around him... but the problem was that it was only something.

He just knew the name of these things...

’Mark of Asteri, Mark of Cosmos... how did I get you... what are your purposes..’ After obtaining one answer, many questions spawned as well.

Just with the names on his hand, he tried to connect them with everything... but unfortunately, there wasn’t anything in his knowledge that these names matched with.

Even though he knew the names, there was one thing that was strange about them... and it was bugging him from the moment he knew the names, ’Why can’t I speak them out loud..’

Without any change in expression, he whispers, "How, apple, cave, snow..." His expression remained the same after knowing that he could speak other words without any problem.

"M—-A..." While trying to say the name, he tried to pinpoint the thing that was stopping him from saying it. After five minutes of doing this, he finally caught something.

’It feels like there is something that is blocking me from saying these words. It is a foreign influence as well.’ Dhruv thought as a smile appeared on his face.

The reason for his smile was that there was another thing that he had caught except for this influence.

During the speaking session, he felt that there was something inside of him that was resisting this foreign blocking as well. But the problem was that his resistance wasn’t strong enough.

The reason he was still calm after knowing this was because he could feel the resistance inside of him growing each second... it was evolving every moment.

The smile on his face didn’t last long as a mild headache began to form in his head. This wasn’t the headache that accompanied a mild current in his body.

This was the headache that would make him wish his head wasn’t there... it was the one where the pain grew exponentially every moment.

Instead of getting agitated he calmly looked down in the water and sighed...

Sigh!!!

Sighing, he whispered while continuing to stare at his, "Let the things flow how they were supposed to be... right.."

In his reflection, he could see that there was a white tentacle that had stuck itself into his head like a parasite and was sucking something out of him.

Lifting his head, he tried to grab the parasite... instead of catching the tentacle, his hands went right through it.

Dhruv became somewhat surprised after finding out that the parasite was ethereal, and he couldn’t grab the thing no matter how much he tried. But his hand wasn’t the only thing that he had in his arsenal as well.

Directing his hand toward the parasite, he whispered, "Ignite"

The moment these words left his mouth, fire engulfed his head in a matter of seconds.

"Ahhhhh!!.."

"Fire... someone caught fire.."

Screams began to form in the surroundings as everyone noticed a man’s head burning in red-hot flame... the intensity of the flame increased as the color of the flame began to change to that of blue...

Splash! Splash!

Multiple buckets of water were thrown on his head as everyone around him tried to stop the flame... but... but these waters hadn’t had the capability to calm the flame.

Ahhhhhhh!

A bone-chilling shout escaped Dhruv’s lips as the headache in his head reached its peak. Within a second of reaching there everything around him shattered into nothingness... 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Once again he was floting in the White Void.
