Chapter 169: The Final Core
In the heart of a green jungle, a team of five was advancing toward the village in front of them. The team was led by their swordsman, who was also a beautiful lady with black hair. She was none other than Olivia.
Looking at the team and receiving the signal that they were ready to attack the boss, Dhruv swiftly removed the metal box that had been containing the monster until now.
The moment the box surrounding the monster was removed, a furious roar echoed in the surroundings, as if it was trying to convey, "How dare you capture me in that box!"
Even when the monster in front of them was roaring while also being almost twice their size, nobody from the group was intimidated by it, not even a little. On the contrary, everyone could see a smile on the face of their leader.
The boss didn’t wait for them and began to charge in their direction while gripping his massive club. Like other goblin, this one also summoned five minions while running in their direction.
After observing the past three battles, Olivia was already familiar with how the boss started the fight, and it gave her the chance to come up with the perfect strategy to kill the boss as fast as possible.
The moment they noticed the goblin running in their direction, Grace, the tank of the group, stepped forward, taking the lead to shield her teammates. Her shield, adorned with intricate engravings, was as tall as her.
As with any tank, she also had the aggro skill. With a deep breath, she charged at the boss goblin, catching its attention. Her skill worked a little differently as she didn’t need to shout to attract the attention of the boss like Sylas.
While the boss focused on Grace, the minions continued to charge in a straight line.
The boss almost reached Grace in an instant, roaring, it swung its club with tremendous force. The moment the club was about to hit her Olivia, the skilled swordsman, darted forward, her blade gleaming with precision managed to stop the attack.
With a swift parry, Olivia changed the trajectory of the attack. Seeing that his attack had failed, the boss roared once again and began to attack the puny human in front of him nonstop.
While Olivia and Grace were busy parrying the monster’s attacks one after another, the others weren’t just standing and watching the scene.
They were dealing with the minions and by now all the minions were dead as well, giving them plenty of time to support the duo.
Kamal, the archer, stood at a distance, arrows notched and ready. His eagle eyes, a common archer skill, never left the boss goblin. He aimed and tried to hit the monster in the eye.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t that skilled yet, so the attack was missed. Not wanting to hit his teammates unfortunately he stooped aiming for vital parts and instead began to lose a flurry of arrows. Each arrow found its mark, causing the boss goblin to howl in agony.
The aim wasn’t perfect, but his well-timed and nonstop shots have managed to make the monster bleed quite a bit. The archer could see the strength behind his club was begging to get softer and softer with each second.
Raina, the healer, had already healed the other two after battling with the minions, so he began to walk toward the boss with a calming pace.
Reaching a distance from where he could cast the spell, he stopped and looked at the duo, Tank and Swordsman. He swiftly sent his mana into the staff he was carrying.
In just a second, his staff began to emit a soft, golden glow as he cast healing spells to ensure Grace and Olivia stayed in fighting shape. His calming presence in the chaos of battle reassured his companions, allowing them to press on.
Following him, Elara, the mage of fire affinity, also involved herself with the boss monster. She didn’t waste any time and began to concentrate to cast her spells.
Within five seconds, she got into her zone and began to unleash scorching fireballs upon the boss goblin, nonstop. Fiery explosions erupted around the monster, causing it to dance wildly in pain. Her magic created an intense spectacle of flames and chaos.
The remnants of the fireball that managed to affect her teammates were quickly healed by Raina, and thus, she continued attacking.
The boss goblin, unable to withstand the relentless assault from the team of five, grew desperate. It attempted to summon its minions once again. It knew the minions wouldn’t do much, but it was desperate and trying to tip the balance in its favor, even a little.
But Kamal, ever watchful, noticed the boss was trying to place both of his palms together. He knew and was also well informed by Olivia what this meant.
It meant that the boss was trying to summon its little helper. In a split second, he unleashed a precise arrow, hitting the boss goblin square in the hand, disrupting its summoning ritual.
If the boss’s hand had been of normal size, maybe Kamal would have missed the shot, but unfortunately, the boss was twice in size.
With no other way around, the monster thought of dealing with them one at a time. For the first victim, he chose to focus on the human who was carrying an object that was making every hit of his worthless.
Grace, with her unwavering determination, pressed on relentlessly. She locked her shield with the boss goblin’s club, sparks flying from the collision.
Noticing this weird behavior from the boss, Olivia seized the opportunity, launching a furious assault. Her blade sliced through the air, striking the boss goblin’s arm, forcing it to drop its club with a painful howl.
When the goblin dropped his club, Grace finally got a few seconds to catch her breath. She looked at her hand and noticed that the skin of her palm had begun to split apart just from the sheer force. Before the pain of this registered in her brain, a golden light enveloped her hand.
Raina used her healing magic to mend her allies’ wounds, allowing them to push harder. Elara intensified her fiery onslaught as well, and within a few seconds, the boss goblin’s grotesque form began to smolder.
The goblin, now in a state of desperation, made a final, desperate attempt to summon its minions. But with a coordinated assault from the team, this attempt of his was unsuccessful once again.
Within a minute of non-stop attacks from the group, the monster was brought to its knees. Kamal unleashed a final, piercing arrow—A skill— straight into the boss goblin’s heart to end the monster.
"Roooooaaarrr!!
The boss roared once again, even with the arrow stuck in his chest.
Kamal’s attack wasn’t deep enough to kill the monster in just one strike. He was about to attack the monster once again but stopped when he noticed his leader advancing in its direction.
Swooooshh!
The head of the monster rolled on the ground as the light in its eyes finally faded. With a swift strike, Olivia had managed to remove the head of the monster from the rest of its body.
As the boss goblin collapsed, the battle’s tension finally faded. Olivia, Grace, Kamal, Raina, and Elara had emerged victorious, their teamwork and unwavering determination defeating the formidable foe.
With their combined strength and each member’s unique abilities, the team had conquered the boss goblin. They stood triumphant, chests heaving, their bond stronger than ever.

[Congratulations! You have reached level 20.]
[Do you want to evolve your class?]
Before she could focus on the screen in front of her, she heard something ringing in her ear.
Clap! Clap! Clap!...
Like some sort of tradition, the jungle echoed with the sounds of applause once again.
"Well done, that was as efficient as it can get," Dhruv praised them as well. He was about to heal the member of the team but stopped when he remembered that there was a healer in the group this time.
Not imagining any success, he turned to face Olivia and asked, "Olivia, did you reach the condition to evolve?"
After asking this question, he was about to walk toward the monster’s corpse to retrieve the dungeon core. But he was forced to stop when he heard something he hadn’t expected...
"Yes, My lord, I can evolve to Tier 3 now," Olivia replied with a smile on her face.
"Ohh! You can. So, do you think you can wait until tomorrow," Dhruv was shocked enough that he directly got to the point.
"Of course, I can do that, My Lord," Olivia replied without thinking about the question.
Dhruv nodded and told her to get some rest. After telling everybody the same thing, he began to walk toward the monster.
As usual, a magical core had formed on top of the monster’s chest. Picking the core from the chest, he pulled the glass from his ring. Sending the mana into it, he looked at the core in front of him...
[Name: Dungeon Core of Goblin Forest (First floor)]
A smile appeared on his face when the desired description was viewed in just a single try. Looking at the stone, a thought appeared in his head,
"Phew! Finally, we can go to the second floor. I wonder how it will be."
