Chapter 136: Not unbreakable either

[B-But, master, the fruit is very delicious. Shouldn’t we help it spread instead of destroying it?] Vexar said, sounding very desperate and frail.

[Vexar, do as I told you,] Dhruv ordered once again. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

[Master, the fruit even gives essence points as well,] Vexar said as a last bit of resistance, hoping that Dhruv would listen to his words.

[Vexar, don’t make me repeat myself,]

Dhruv said this as a last warning, indicating that if Vexar didn’t listen to him this time, he would have to use force.

Force, as in, he has to command him forcefully, which Dhruv wants to avoid as much as he can.

[As you wish master.] Vexar said with a heavy heart.

Knowing that Vexar was finally convinced, Dhruv cut the connection and looked at his hand once again.

’This shit is truly dangerous; it can even influence Vexar, not at a small scale as well. He must have eaten a whole lot of them to have this heavy effect,’ Dhruv thought as he threw the apple on the ground and crushed it with his feet.

Dhruv was forced to understand the fact that although the connection between them and the trio is very-very strong, it isn’t unbreakable either.

Sigh!

Letting out a sigh, Dhruv looked at the fruits hanging from the branches.

He had a few plans in his mind to check the effect of this fruit previously, but at the moment, he truly abandoned them. After all, he didn’t have any plans to become the caretaker of any apple tree, at least not in this life.

As he looked at the huge tree in front of him, he thought of checking its status but abandoned this idea after considering the fact that it was just a waste of time and mana.

Although he had told Vexar to destroy the tree from his side, he hadn’t done the same. He didn’t plan to test its effect on himself, but nobody stopped him from doing that to a lab rat.

Heheheh!

With a laugh, he thought of the perfect lab rat and began to move toward the portal.

...

In front of a huge tree, a demon was surrounded by almost a hundred leftovers of fruits. Along with the leftovers, there was also a pile of fresh fruits beside him, ready to be consumed.

The demon looked at the pile of fruit with a sad expression and stood up from the ground. With a heavy heart, he began to walk toward the tree from which he had plucked these fruits.

"Sorry, but master’s orders are absolute," he whispered to the tree, then he kissed the trunk of the huge tree in front of him.

He was acting as if they were lovers of some sort and he was abandoning her after a lifetime of being together.

As if the tree could sense what was coming as well, its leaves began to tremble indicating that it was begging for mercy.

Not paying attention to any of this, Vexar took a few steps back from the tree and closed his eyes for a second.

A few seconds later, a fiery pillar began to form on top of his palm. He let the pillar rotate for a moment on his palm and then threw it towards the tree.

The fire pillar reached the tree, and the moment it touched its trunk, it grew in size exponentially and engulfed the entire tree in one second. As the yellow light enveloped it the huge tree began to burn.

Vexar stood there in silence and witnessed the end of his favorite tree. After a while, the mana supporting the fire pillar ended. In an instant, the fire stopped, and within the smoke emerged the tree. It wasn’t the same giant tree anymore, No now it was just the showcase of its past self.

It was completely burned, completely destroyed, and completely unrecognizable.

After bowing toward what was left of the tree, Vexar began to walk toward the portal. While walking and thinking about the tree, he was forced to slow down his speed when he felt that something was wrong... very wrong.

’Why am I so sad after burning that tree? It wasn’t worthy of making me feel sad. What even was that thing and there was nothing good about it except for its sweet fruits,’ Vexar lifted his eyebrows as a frown appeared on his face.

’...Something is wrong.’ With this feeling, Vexar tried to remember everything from the beginning.

’...After discovering the goblin Village, I was walking toward the portal. Then suddenly, I found that tree, and its fruit looked very delicious, so I had stopped, thinking that it would be a good gift for master.’

"...It was a pain to climb that thing, but I ultimately did it and plucked a few fruits for Master. I wasn’t supposed to eat the fruit before Master. Of course, how can I eat before Master? But it looked so... So tasty that I took a bite... Then..."

Vexar looked at the sky as if he was forgetting something, forcing himself, he finally remembered the rest of the details...

’...then I had eaten three of the fruit. At that moment, a notification rang, notifying me that I’d gained an essence point. Coming to my senses I stopped eating the fruit and began to walk toward the portal once again, hoping to deliver good news to the master...’

’...But midway, I had the urge to eat the fruits once again, so I ate all of them and then returned to pluck some for master.’

’...But instead of returning, I began to just eat them all on the spot and forgot to return to the portal. But why?’ Vexar couldn’t help but question himself.

While he was remembering the events that happened a few minutes ago, he finally remembered his conversation with his master. The moment he recalled the conversation and realized how he had behaved, a chill ran down his spine, and he began to sweat profusely.

’How dare I refuse master’s order...’

He retracted his steps and began to move toward the tree once again...
