Chapter 118: Collector’s Ring
Dhruv picked up the last item on the table, the Ring, and looked at it with the focus to reveal the information of the item. He kept his focus for at least five seconds, yet the description of the item didn’t reveal itself in front of Dhruv.
Noticing this strange behavior, he frowned and kept his focus on the item. Yet, even after a minute of focus, the information about the ring didn’t reveal itself.
’Is this a normal ring?’ This was the first thought that came to Dhruv’s mind, but he quickly denied this claim when he looked at the item with mana vision and found that there were traces of mana in the ring.
’There clearly is mana in the item, so why can’t I see the information?’ Dhruv frowned.
’Is there something unique about this item?’ Dhruv thought and was about to put the item back on the shelf, but then his vision landed on the Inspect-or glasses.
Dhruv lifted the glass, put it over his eyes, and then looked at the ring once again. Even after examining the ring with the glasses on, he couldn’t see any information.
’What the heck is going on?!’ DHruv frowned and cursed at the result.
’Is this item at a rank above epic?’ Dhruv thought as he remembered the description of the glasses. There, it was clearly mentioned that the glasses could only reveal information below epic or at the epic level.
’But that doesn’t make any sense. Who could have obtained an item at the legendary tier in this place where the only things they were doing were either patrolling—the gang members—or killing slimes—the hunters?’
Dhruv couldn’t understand the logic behind this and was about to give up when he remembered something.
’Am I getting stupid or what? How can the glass reveal the information when I didn’t even activate it?’ Dhruv thought, recalling the process of using the soul flare feature of his armor.
To use any enchantment of the item, you must first inject your mana into the item; the amount could vary from item to item.
Dhruv quickly remembered this information and let some of his mana flow toward the frame of the glasses. After doing that, he looked at the ring once again and frowned upon seeing the row of information that revealed itself in front of him.
[Rank: Rare]
The glass had decided to show the rank of the item and broke Dhruv’s heart in one fell swoop. From dreaming of legendary rank to directly rare, it sure was a jump that made Dhruv’s heart ache a bit.
’So if this is a rare rank, why can’t I look at its information prior to using the glass...’ Dhruv thought and after pondering over this matter for a minute he finally came to a conclusion.
’Is it that I can’t look at other items’ information above the special rank?’
Dhruv thought this, and the more he thought about it, the more he found this conclusion accurate. After all, if everyone could see each other and their item information, that would pose a very massive disadvantage.
He let his mana flow into the glass once again and looked...
He let his mana flow into the glass once again and looked...
The information revealed:
[Type: Jewels]
’Yay! Pretty informative, what could I have done without this information,’ Dhruv sarcastically thought after seeing the information. When he checked the information a few more times he finally started to witness the randomness of the glass.
Dhruv didn’t back down either and kept doing that. After repeating the same thing numerous times, he finally had the full description of the ring, and he was quite shocked by it.
[Name: Collector’s Ring
Rank: Rare
Tier: II
Type: Jewels]
[Description: The Ring of a Collector is an exquisite silver band adorned with intricate runic engravings. It possesses the remarkable ability to collect some of its wearer’s items within itself.]
[Enchantments: Small Collector, Instant Retrieval, Full of Burden]
[Small Collector: Due to being an item of the collector, the ring can only store up to 64 items within itself. If the 65th item is placed, then the first one will be removed. To put the item, touch the desired item and say, ’collect.’]
[Instant Retrieval: After saying ’retrieve,’ the wearer can retrieve any stored item from the ring by thinking about it. The item will then materialize in the wearer’s hand.]
[Full of Burden: The total weight of the items within the ring will be placed upon the wearer.]
’So, I can only place 64 items, and their weight wouldn’t be reduced. Finally, I can carry my spear and the throne everywhere I go,’ Dhruv mused as he remembered the description of the item. This is the type of item that Dhruv found neither too good nor too bad.
Wanting to check the magic of the item, he touched the surface of the glass with the surface of his ring and whispered ’Collect.’
The moment he said that the glasses which were on his eyes just a moment ago began to disintegrate into thin air. After disintegrating for a while, it formed an orb. Then the orb of glass flew toward the ring and got sucked into it.
Just like that, the glass got collected in the ring.
To retrieve the item, he placed the ring in his hand and whispered ’retrieve,’ and thought about the glass. Due to there being no other item in the ring, he didn’t have to think about it, but he did it nonetheless.
Just like how the item had disappeared, it once again began to reappear in front of him. First, the orb got out of the ring, and then it began to materialize slowly, two seconds later, a glass was in his hand.
"So the process isn’t instantaneous, that could be the problem, but only in battle," Dhruv thought. He once again collected the glass in the ring and began to do the same with all the items on the shelf.
Now there was a total of 5 items in the ring, and they were: A pair of glasses, A rope, A dice, A bucket, and A tube filled with crimson liquid.
After doing that, he looked at Alaric, who had already collected everything and was waiting for Dhruv.
"Let’s go," he said.
The trio and their master began to move to another location. Even after collecting the items, they weren’t heading toward the sleeping area and were going somewhere else.
