Chapter 113: Karval - I

While Atlas and Alberion continued moving toward the Central City for completely different reasons. Neither Atlas nor Alberion knew anything about the events currently taking place inside Lumivale, and neither of them knew that someone had already begun searching for Atlas in Lumivale.

The Assassin hadn’t only entered the city, he had already gathered the basic information available regarding Atlas Crosswood.

Unlike the two A-rank assassins who had previously come to Lumivale and attempted to obtain information from the receptionist by deceiving her through conversation, Karval chose an entirely different method. He never intended to question anyone from the beginning because questioning people was useless to someone like him.

Instead, he relied on something else.

Something that most people would consider impossible unless they witnessed it themselves.

The S-rank Assasin Karval possessed an "Unique Ability" that allowed him to accomplish exactly that.

As the Captain of the Martial Cleaver, the assassination organization directly serving under the Human King, he possessed abilities that ordinary Explorers had never even heard about. Even among the Martial Cleaver itself, very few people possessed abilities that reached this level. The two assassins Atlas had fought previously were only A-ranks. Although they stood above most Explorers, they still couldn’t compare themselves to the Captain leading the entire organization.

As Karval approached the Guild from a distance, his body suddenly disappeared.

More accurately...His presence disappeared; there were no Spirit fluctuations and no change in the surrounding air as well.

One moment he existed like any ordinary person.

The next moment...It became impossible for anyone to notice him.

The Ability was called Veil.

The name itself sounded simple, but the effects it produced were anything but simple.

Veil possessed two separate abilities.

The first allowed Karval to completely hide his own presence. As long as he continuously supplied Spirit Energy to maintain the Ability, nobody below or equal to his own cultivation rank could detect him through any senses or Spirit perception. His existence itself became hidden from the awareness of others, allowing him to move almost freely without being noticed.

Naturally, the Ability also possessed limitations.

Someone with a cultivation rank higher than Karval could still detect him if they possessed sufficient perception, meaning Veil wasn’t absolute.

And the second was he could literally change his identity without changing appearance physically - Meaning his whole dress and stuff would remain same but to the others he would look something that he wants them to see, the limit being spirit energy again which S-ranks had in massive amounts.

So, this was not problem to him at all, he first used the second ability as he changed himself into an Angel to others as he entered the guild as he opened the entrance door and after approaching the Mission board as he looked like an Explorer to others, they didn’t seem to find him anyone suspicious because of his clothes and that B-rank Spirit Energy he seemed to carry around him.

Even Bella just glanced at him once as she noticed an Angel Explorer instead of Karval being a Human, before going to her work, she just as the others also had no way of knowing he was an Assassin after all, just as she went inside through the back door behind her counter, the Assasin used the first ability as he looked around himself, at the Angels present in the guild.

As he saw that everyone was looking away from him now, he thought back to what Veyron had said to him one last time "Kill the Target with any means necessary, the King himself has ordered this to take this thing in my hands, though you are his Personal Assasins, I still have commands over you as per his Permission, so do the Job completely like you always do Karval."

Karval - The S-rank Captain, thought ’Now, Let’s get his information first...’ as he activated his skill finally and disappeared from common sight entirely, there were no spirit fluctuations or anything like that at all, it was as if he was there and in the next step he took...he was gone.

And nobody even noticed this, that much powerful of an Ability this was.

As he disappeared, he directly went towards the counter and he didn’t stop...he passed through, yes...his body passed through the wooden and glass covered above that counter entirely, without a hitch.

And then he went further Inside, through the same entrance Bella had gone into, he looked inside as he sensed the Guildmaster yet again, he had sensed him when he had just entered the City, that much was his skill level...he was directly under a King for nothing.

He thought as he narrowed his eyes under the hood covering his head, his mouth covered with a mask that only Assasins wore especially their Martial Cleaver wore, ’Looks like it’s an Ordinary S-rank...’

As he thought this, he clenched his teeth as he thought something else again ’And those two got scared of him? Even though they are A-ranks, they should’ve been able to kill him and get the information silently, Tsk! They disgraced the King’s Martial Cleaver...’

Then he stepped forward and went through that entrance, as he entered, he saw all dark again, but he didn’t need to see anything, with an S-rank’s senses he had already sensed everything inside and who was inside right now.

Without wasting more time, he quickly went in as thought ’Those counters had no documents related to this Atlas Crosswood, This Guild is Hiding it...’

He thought this as he had already sensed beyond those wooden drawers of all four counters present in this guild, he had found relics inside them, documents and papers related to other people...he could even vaguely read through them, it again proved his skill level to be way higher than any normal or even among special S-ranks.

But among those documents, he didn’t find a single one about Atlas, so he came here and...as he ran in that ’Veil’ state, he sensed and read through many document beyond what one would call shelves, rows of these shelves stretched out inside that chamber, though it was not big, it was enough to carry those thousands of papers.

As he ran for quite a while, trying to avoid Bella’s Position as he sensed her a few meters inside this chamber picking up something, he sensed it, the document related to him...it was just beside where she was, the next moment he appeared beside her in that Veiled form, his presence Completely untraceable.

He quickly went and hit her at the behind of her neck with a strong yet slow motion that instantly made her knocked out and she dropped on the floor with some papers in her hand.

Karval thought ’Better not fight that S-rank, it will just consume my time, though I can kill him, he is not my target...’ as he looked at the Unconscious Bella.

Then he turned towards the shelves where the papers were and quickly opening it he took the papers inside a small bag behind him, then he went through the entrance and exited the Guild at once.

After coming out, he picked up his pace in that state, he didn’t use any spirit to enhance his speed, No - It was pure Physical speed and in just a moment, Yes in just a moment of two seconds he was out of the City...that much speed he had, he had also arrived here in just a while hour, from the Human continent to this Angelic continent.

As he came out of the city and went into the forest he quickly opened the bag and read through the documents...in them there was the names of Rosaria Household attached to it, he didn’t see anything related to Contract or anything, what he saw was that there was a paper saying about a Meeting took place between the Rosaria Household and the Target Atals Crosswood.

From what he had heard from Veyron he knew how Atals’s features were front he description provided by those two previous Assasins, but after he had come into the city he had found no one like that, exactly for that reason he had to go into the Guild, and now that he saw that a Noble Household had a meeting with a commoner he quickly concluded many things such as - The target is someone special to be contacted by a Noble Household, that was already known from those two assasins and this confirmed it.

Then there was more information about him and his current location could now only be found through this Household.

There were no more papers related to him except those Ruins clearences.

Thinking through this...he shifted his attention to the City again and thought ’Let’s find this target and Kill him quickly...’ and with that he paced with that same ridiculous speed like before.

What he didn’t know was that the Patriarch of the Household was present...and something really nasty was going to taking place very soon.
