Fang Raon exclaimed.
He felt like he was reborn, and it was a completely surreal feeling that he didn’t know how to quite describe.

He quickly checked the time on the interface and noticed it was getting pretty late.
’I hope Rock hadn’t come to wake me up for the second time. He’ll be really pissed if I am not here. He’ll probably think that I escaped somewhere to sleep in peace.
’I’ve now awakened Read, so maybe... I can actually dodge his waking-up attempts.’
Fang Raon smiled, for some reason feeling confident that maybe he would be able to sleep properly.
Then.
The mausoleum door opened, and he stepped out and walked away.
Meanwhile, inside the mausoleum, the statue cracked a small smile and then crumbled apart, turning into dust.

An hour later.
Rock opened the door to the sleeping lodge, and as he walked down the narrow hallway, the floorboards creaked.
"..."
With a cold gaze, he opened the door to Raon’s room and found a sleeping young man on the futon.
Soft sounds of sleeping kept escaping from his lips, and using Read, Rock could tell that he was deep asleep.
Rock pulled out the heavy-looking stick from his inventory, entered the room, and quieted down his steps.
The floorboards stopped creaking, as if he weren’t even walking over them but instead glided across the ground instead.
He was using Skydance.
’Let’s see whether he can dodge this time.’
Rock thought, and he lifted the heavy-looking stick high above his head and looked at the sleeping Raon.
He sure looked peaceful.
’Hmph!’
Rock gritted his teeth and brought the stick down with force, not holding back even a little bit, as if he wanted to split the young man’s skull in half!
As the heavy-looking stick neared Raon’s head, he suddenly rolled to the side, and the stick once again missed.
"?!?!?!"
Rock’s eyes widened in a surprise.
’This definitely isn’t luck anymore.’
He thought.
However.
He wasn’t going to stop just yet, and instead, he lifted the stick once more and swung it for Raon’s head.
Then.
Raon, almost like he was sleepwalking, hurriedly sat up on the futon, and the stick again grazed past his head.
"You little shit... Are you awake?"
Rock asked with a shock.
But as he looked at Raon, he noticed that his eyes were still shut, and he even used Read to determine whether he was sleeping.
He was actually still sleeping, but his body was still moving as if he were awake, strangely enough!
’This is definitely Read. Even though Raon is still sleeping, his body is instinctively using Read and reacting to the threat, as it could tell that if it gets hit by the stick, it would hurt a lot.’
Rock thought.
’He hasn’t learned Read, so his body shouldn’t be able to use it either, even instinctively, unless... he has actually learned it.’
He thought.
But then he wondered if that was the case, why hadn’t Raon told him that he had successfully learned it?
’Unless he happened to awaken it just now...’
Rock thought.
He narrowed his eyes.
Then, he swung the stick at Raon’s head again, but his body moved and dodged like it was nothing.
Rock didn’t stop.
He kept swinging, and yet, Raon kept dodging all of those strikes, weaving his body like a dancer.
’There is something different about him. His body has changed in a way. It is more agile, nimble, and quicker than before!’
Rock thought.
Then, he swung the stick wide, aiming for the head, but then Raon laid back down on the futon, his head touching the pillow.
The stick flew right over him.
"Huff... Huff..."
Rock panted heavily.
’I didn’t use Read on any of those strikes. If I wanted to, I could’ve easily used Read to read which direction he was going to dodge.
’My level of Read is still higher than his, but that would’ve gone against the point of the training, so I didn’t do that.
’For anyone not using Read, it’ll be incredibly difficult to hit Raon now... Now that he has learned to use Read, he is immediately stronger than the majority of players.
’But the training is not over yet. He can learn Read to a higher level. Then there is also Maxima, Skydance, Godspeed, et cetera.’
Rock thought.
He then stored the heavy-looking stick back in his inventory and took one last look at the sleeping Raon.
"Good work."
Rock said, then he turned around and left the room, quietly closing the door.
Inside the dark room, Raon was still sleeping, having no idea what had just happened.

The bright light of the morning spilled into the room, and Raon slowly opened his eyes, blinking in the sudden brightness.
"Ugh..."
He turned to his side, still feeling incredibly sleepy, as if he hadn’t gotten enough sleep tonight, which he honestly hadn’t.
"It’s morning, hmm... Did Rock not come after all? Maybe he fell asleep accidentally... He is getting old, after all..."
Fang Raon scratched his head, and then he quickly changed into a new pair of clothes and stepped out of the room.
"Yawn..."
He yawned as he stepped outside, stretching his arms above his head in the warm morning air.
The yellow wheel of fire—the sun—was brightly shining overhead, and it was much warmer today than the past few days.
In that moment.
He found Rock over at a distance, swinging a sword, and it looked like he was doing some sort of training exercise.
"Good morning."
Fang Raon said as he walked over, and Rock glanced at him and then stored the sword back in inventory.
"Morning."
Rock said.
"...Did you forget to wake me up last night?"
Fang Raon asked.
"No. I visited you. You just happened to dodge all of my attacks."
Rock said.
"...I did?"
Fang Raon asked with a surprise.
"You have awakened Read, haven’t you? Why didn’t you tell me, you little shit?"
Rock asked angrily.
"Uh... It just happened. After last night, when you woke me up, I couldn’t really sleep, so I trained for a while.
"And I happened to reach level 3 with my Blade Massacre skill, and I got the ping to the legacy location.
"And that place happened to be very close to the training camp, so I went there, did the legacy trial, and also happened to learn Read while I was at it."
Fang Raon said as he scratched the back of his head.
He explained like he was doing something casual—like going on a jog—but it was obvious that his last night was quite eventful.
"...So you are a legacy user now?"
Rock asked with a surprise.
"Yep..."
Fang Raon nodded.
"...Okay, we’ll train those new skills of yours today."
Rock said.
"Mm."
Fang Raon nodded with a smile.
For the first time in a long while, Raon actually could see his strength improving at a drastic rate, and so could Rock.
He was slowly catching up to the monsters of the Dead Redemption... but there was still a long way to go.
