Chapter 208: Fight for love
Taesan’s POV
Two piece of information are fighting for dominance in my head. They are written out in every single language I know, forcing my brain and my body to process them.
English. Korean. Mandarin. Japanese. Italian.
They’re written in red and they’re passing the same jarring message loud and clear.
Seoha is pregnant.
Seoha is missing.
Why the fuck is the world suddenly wobbling? Why the fuck are my hands red? And why the fuck is there a man gasping under me for air.
His face is slowly turning blue as he tries and fails to get me off.
"Taesan! Let him go!" Minjae’s voice screams from outside the tunnel I’m stuck in. He sounds like a distraction and I just want to wrap my hand around his neck.
I want to choke him and slam his body to the wall too.
Yuki is trying to pull me off the man, and when I look down, I finally see the face of person that is about to die by my hands.
Junho.
Junho’s face is red with his own blood, or is it my own blood? It’s difficult to tell whose blood it is with how hard I’m panting on top of him.
"Where is Seoha?" I roar the question.
My throat is burning from how loud I’m being. "Where is he?" I ask again, shaking Junho’s weakening body like a fucking rag doll.
"Let him go!" Minjae screams one more time and picks up Junho’s fallen gun.
The omega points the gun at me with shaking hands. And in my mind’s eyes, he’s a prey that is daring me to hunt and kill. I make a move to take him down, but Junho grabs me.
"Don’t...hurt...him" he manages to wheeze.
Even while he’s beaten and bleeding under me, he’s still fighting to protect Minjae. And for no reason, my eyes drop to the swell of Minjae’s belly.
Pregnant.
He’s pregnant. Seoha is pregnant. He’s here. Seoha is not.
"Where is Seoha?" I ask again, sounding more human than I should.
"I don’t know. We were at the hospital together and I went to pee, okay? When I got back he was gone!" Minjae explains.
His hand is on his chest and he looks like he’s about to pass out. He seems like he is scared and worried out of his mind for Seoha.
If he cares about my mate that much, why would he take him away from me in the first place? It’s his fault!
"You!" I point at Yuki, getting off Junho’s body to face her.
She suddenly appears and Seoha suddenly disappears? What sort of mind game is she trying to play?
"Where is he?" I ask as I crowd her, pushing forward and she steps backwards. She’s trying to get away from me without running.
"Where is he?" I ask again, my voice is calmer this time as I grab her by the neck and Junho says something unintelligible. It’s something along the lines of letting Yuki go but I don’t acknowledge it.
"I don’t know where he is, I swear I don’t" Yuki says firmly, placing her hands on my chest to keep me at bay. She had no idea that her touch only sparks something in me.
I want to break her fucking hand.
"Instead of losing control, oppa, we should be looking for him" Yuki says, turning her head to the side to avoid looking at my face.
"I’m going to kill you, I promise you" I snarl and tighten my grip her neck, I’m ready to twist it till she drops to my feet.
"Killing her won’t bring Seoha back, you fucking prick. Let her go!" Minjae yells and I look back at him. He’s kneeling beside Junho, he’s trying to make sure my righthand man doesn’t choke on his own blood.
I push myself away from Yuki like she’s going to burn me. My chest keeps rising and falling as I take heavy breaths.
Seoha. Shin Seoha. My mate. Where is he?
I reach for him through our bond, but I find it shut. Something is extremely wrong and I can’t feel my omega.
Why does this hurt?
The office is filled with a symphony of painful noises, I’m whimpering like a wounded animal, Junho is struggling to breathe and Yuki is still gasping for air.
"Where?" I ask.
"Did grandpa take him?" I ask again, my voice heavy with pain. It’s getting difficult to fucking breathe, why would anyone take my sanity away from me?
"Grandpa will never take Seoha" Yuki shakes her head.
"As far as I know, he wants the child to be born healthy, so he’ll never hurt him" Yuki says and I shake my head in disbelief.
"Believe me, oppa" she says softly.
"Don’t fucking call me that!" I punch the wall above her head. I pull my hand back and punch it again. I repeat the grotesque action again and again till blood drips down my fist and Yuki is frozen with fear.
"I’m not- I’m not an oppa to you" I point in her face and she drops her head, body shaking with fear.
"If I don’t have him in less than three hours...I will burn the whole city down" I say, already painting the picture in my head.
I’m already tearing my sword through a crowd of people. I’m making them scream one by one till someone tells me where my mate is.
Meanwhile...
Seoha’s POV
I stare blankly at the dashboard as my older halfbrother drives me in his car.
My mind has been blank for two hours. I’m fighting against opening my bond and reaching out for Taesan in desperation.
My hands are resting lightly over my stomach as I feel the flatness of my belly. After minutes of touching it, that’s when I realize that it’s not as flat as it should be.
My baby is growing in here...
The pup I’ve always wanted is finally resting here, I feel a spark of excitement but I know that wanting the baby will be the most selfish thing I would ever do.
I drop my head back, offering a small prayer to the moon goddess for help.
"You know that if Taesan catches me he’d kill me, right?" Hanbin asks and I look at his face. "You told me he’d never find you" I whisper.
"Yes, I’m Ghost because they never find me, but Seoha, we’re daring Taesan to end my life" he says and takes the turn ahead of us.
I don’t want Hanbin to get caught, but he’s my only safe bet. He’s the only one that can help me with this.
Junho is too loyal to Taesan to help me, Jisu is too young, my grandma knows nothing about this...and Yuki is no longer part of the clan.
The only hope I have is Hanbin.
He finally parks the car, kills the engine and turns his head to give me his attention.
"Do you want to talk about it?" he asks and I shake my head. "Seoha, I’ve not known you for long, but you’re my only surviving family" he says and tears well up in my eyes.
"I’m- I’m scared of so many things" I say.
I was going to tell him that I’m pregnant but I change my mind. I can’t tell him that part of my situation when Taesan doesn’t know about it yet.
"It’s okay to be scared, Seoha. We can run away together" he says and I shake my head, letting the tears slide down my cheeks.
"I can’t run away, my heart can’t take it" I whisper and wipe my nose with the back of my hand.
I look like the pitiful young boy that used to get beaten up by his cousin.
"I don’t think I can live without him" I confess. It sounds dramatic but it’s my truth, it’s my life now.
I’m too attached to him. I’m too in love him.
"This is a dangerous choice you’re making, honestly Seoha" he says and I give him a wobbly smile, building myself up to ask the important question that has been on my mind.
"Do you need any of the wealth dad left to us?" I ask and he frowns. The disgust he feels is very obvious through the expression he’s making.
"I don’t want any of that corrupt money, why?" he asks and I stare at the ceiling of the car.
"How would you feel if I gave it away?".
"They’re all signed to you, Seoha. What you do with them is up to you" Hanbin says and I nod before opening the door.
Where I’m going to is the small coffee shop sitting on the quiet corner of the street. My palms are sweaty as I open the door and walk in, zeroing in on the three foreigners sitting together.
They look extremely handsome but also terrifying.
Two of them have dark hair and one of them has brighter hair. I approach them slowly and they look up to acknowledge me.
The one that I saw in the hallway at Taesan’s home gives me a smile as I stand in front of them.
"Hello, I’m Shin Seoha, Taesan’s mate...will you do business with me?" I ask.
