Chapter 245: Chapter 245: Next Month, We’ll Meet Again
Just as Matteo lifted another spoonful of soup to his mouth, the silence was broken by the simultaneous vibration of two phones.
Matteo’s phone buzzed on the nightstand.
At the very same moment, Mark’s phone vibrated in his pocket.
Mark glanced up at his brother.
"Just eat your soup, Teo," he said gently. "I’ll check it."
He slipped his phone from his pocket.
His breath caught as the notification appeared across the screen.
Adrian has just shared a new post.
Mark said nothing. His fingers trembled slightly as he opened Instagram.
The moment the image loaded, the color drained from his face. He knew with absolute certainty that if Matteo saw it, he would lose control.
But Matteo was already tracking Mark’s every movement, his dark eyes locked onto his twin’s horrified expression. Matteo set his spoon down. "What is it?"
Mark immediately locked the screen and forced a casual smile. "Nothing," he said. "Just a business notification."

Matteo didn’t buy the lie for a second. He immediately began to stand up to retrieve his own phone from the nightstand, but Mark stepped into his path, blocking him. "Teo, don’t bother. Just finish your soup."
Matteo stopped, his posture turning rigid, every trace of authority returning to him.
"If you tell me what you just saw," he said evenly, "I won’t check." His eyes never left Mark’s face. "But if you don’t... I’m going to see it myself."
Mark swallowed hard, his throat painfully dry.
"Adrian..." he began, his voice barely above a whisper.
"He made another post."
Matteo’s expression remained unreadable.
"And?"
Mark hesitated, the words refusing to leave his mouth.
"It..." He drew a shaky breath. "It looks like he’s with someone. A woman... and they look..."
Before Mark could even finish the sentence, Matteo lunged forward and snatched the phone straight out of his brother’s hand.
He brought the screen up to his face.
There was Adrian.
Dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit with a black shirt beneath, his vibrant ginger hair was loosely tied back, a few strands framing his face.
Standing close behind an attractive woman in a sleek black dress, Adrian leaned his face down near her temple as she held up her phone to capture a mirror selfie.
The two of them were dressed in matching black, their bodies so close that they looked every bit like a couple.
Beneath the photo, the caption read:
My little devil in black. 🖤
Mark held his breath.
He braced himself for the explosion.
For the rage.
For the furniture to be destroyed.
For the tears.
For Matteo to completely lose control.
Instead... Nothing.
Matteo’s expression didn’t change.
His face remained eerily calm, so unreadable that it sent a chill down Mark’s spine.
Without a word, Matteo handed the phone back to him as though the photograph meant nothing at all.

He calmly sat back down in his chair, picked up his spoon, and resumed eating his soup.
The silence was far more terrifying than any outburst could have been.
Mark stared at his brother, completely bewildered.
"Teo...?"
Matteo slowly swallowed another spoonful before lifting his eyes to the window.
A cold, unwavering certainty settled over his features.
"He’s mine," he said quietly.
There wasn’t a trace of anger in his voice.
There wasn’t a hint of desperation.
Only absolute conviction. "And... He’ll be mine alone."
Mark looked at him, his expression a mix of disbelief and growing dread. "No... Teo, this isn’t right. You can clearly see he’s moved on. Why do you have to do this to yourself?"
Before Mark could say another word, Matteo raised his head, his dark gaze locking onto his twin with a fierce, suffocating intensity.
"I only want him, Mark. I don’t want anyone else. What the fuck is wrong with loving him this much? Why are you looking at me like I’m crazy? I just love him. Is it a crime to love him? Don’t think I’m insane. I’m perfectly fine... I just love him."
"But he’s already moved on," Mark pressed, his voice tight with desperation.
"I still want him," Matteo replied flatly, his tone completely unyielding. "I believe he’ll come back to me."
"And how long are you going to wait for him?" Mark asked, leaning closer.
"As long as it takes," Matteo said, a faint, chilling calm settling over him. "If I could watch over him from a distance for two years before even making a move, then waiting a few months now is nothing. I can wait. Even if it takes ten years... he’s the only man I’ll ever love, and waiting means nothing to me."
Mark slowly shook his head, dragging a weary hand down his face.
"This isn’t healthy, Teo," he said quietly. "You’ve stopped living for yourself. Everything you do... every decision you make... revolves around Adrian."
"What’s wrong with that?" Matteo countered, his voice dropping into a dark, unwavering calm. "I want to live for him. If that’s what it takes, then so be it. You can’t understand it, Mark, because you’ve never loved someone the way I love him. I can’t love anyone else. All I want is Adrian. That’s how much I love him. Do you understand now? I don’t want anybody else."
"Teo!" Mark shouted, trying to snap his brother out of it.
Matteo’s expression instantly turned to stone. "If that’s all you have to say," he said coldly, "then please leave."
Mark stared at his twin, completely speechless, the words dying in his throat.
He forced himself to calm down, realizing there was no point in arguing anymore. Matteo had already made up his mind, and pushing him any further would only make things worse.
Choosing to ease the tension instead, Mark quietly sat back down.
For the next hour, they carefully avoided Adrian’s name, talking instead about business, family matters, and anything else that would keep the conversation light.
When the night grew late, Mark finally stood up and glanced at his watch.
"It’s time for me to head home, Teo. Charles is waiting for me."
Matteo gave a faint, genuine nod.
"Alright, bro. Thank you."
They shared a quiet goodbye, and Mark left the master bedroom, heading back to his own estate with a heavy heart.
Left alone in the suffocating silence, Matteo turned off the lights and climbed into bed. He deliberately moved over to Adrian’s side of the mattress, burying his face in the pillow for a brief moment, searching for any lingering trace of Adrian’s scent.

After a long moment, he pulled out his phone and opened Instagram, finding Adrian’s latest post once again.
His eyes lingered silently on the photograph.
Suddenly, a direct message notification banner slid across the top of the screen.
It was from Maya.
Matteo frowned slightly and tapped the notification open.
The message read:
Maya: Hi, Matteo. I hope you’re doing okay. I wanted to let you know that I’m getting married next month, and I’d love for you to be there. I’ll have one of my staff members drop off your invitation at your office tomorrow.
Matteo read the message, and a slow, dark smile spread across his lips.
His heart began to pound with a sudden surge of adrenaline.
He wasn’t smiling because Maya was getting married.
He was smiling because he knew one thing with absolute certainty.
Adrian loved his sister more than anything.
There was no way he would miss her wedding.
Next month...
Adrian would be in the same room as him.
Matteo quickly typed a calm reply.
Congratulations, Maya. I’ll be there.
After sending the message, he switched back to Instagram.
His eyes immediately caught the colorful ring around Adrian’s profile picture.
Adrian had just posted a new story.
Matteo tapped it instantly.
It was a mirror selfie taken in a luxurious, dimly lit bathroom.
Adrian’s vibrant ginger hair was still damp from a shower, loosely tied back, with wet strands falling over his face. A black bathrobe hung carelessly off his shoulders, left open to reveal his toned chest and sculpted abdomen. A simple gold pendant rested against his skin as he held his phone up, partially hiding his face.
At the bottom of the story, a short caption read:
Just done dealing with the devil. 😈
The sheer, raw sensuality of the photograph hit Matteo like a physical blow, instantly turning him on. He stared at the screen, his fingers tracing the outline of Adrian’s bare chest on the glass. His mind immediately flooded with graphic, possessive memories of their past intimacy, the heat of Adrian’s body beneath his, and the way his partner used to gasp his name.
A heavy ache formed in his lower stomach, and his hand instinctively drifted down the front of his trousers. He almost started touching himself right there on the empty sheets, the urge to find release through the image nearly overwhelming him.
But midway, Matteo abruptly stopped. He took a ragged breath and pulled his hand away, locking the screen and plunging the bedroom into complete darkness. He didn’t want to settle for a picture. He wanted the real thing back in his bed, submissive and entirely his.
Leaning his head back against the pillow, Matteo let out a low, dangerous chuckle into the shadows. "Next month is almost here, baby."

The days moved faster after that night, blending into a blur of routine and anticipation.
A week later, Mark and Charles went to a high-end shopping mall to stock up on groceries for Charles’ apartment. As they strolled through the aisles, Charles casually scanned the next lane over. His eyes locked onto a familiar face. At first, he wasn’t entirely sure, but the moment she turned fully toward him, he recognized her instantly.
"Nora?" Charles called out.
Nora looked up from the shelf. Her eyes went wide, and her mouth dropped open in surprise. "Charles!"
Mark, who had been completely focused on the grocery list, murmured, "Sweetheart, do we need—" He went completely silent as he noticed Charles greeting someone. Turning around, Mark found himself looking at a woman he didn’t recognize.
As Nora stepped closer to greet Charles, her eyes drifted past his shoulder and landed directly on Mark. She froze, her expression shifting into utter bewilderment as she stared at his face, completely mistaking him for his identical twin.
"Wait..." Nora stammered, looking back and forth between them. "Is that... Adrian’s boyfriend?"
Charles froze, his heart leaping into his throat.
"You... you know about Adrian and Matteo?" he managed to ask, his voice tight with shock.
Nora frowned slightly, looking surprised by his reaction. "Yes, of course. Why do you look so shocked? Adrian opened up about the whole thing the last time he came over."
Charles felt the air leave his lungs. "Did he only tell you?"
"No, he told everyone," Nora replied casually, completely unaware of the bomb she had just dropped. "He sat the whole family down and told us he had met someone else...
