Chapter 553: Chapter 51: Secondary Authority
As the golden red sun on the horizon slowly disappeared below the mountain range of the Dragon Nest, hanging over the distant sea horizon, the Ascending Mage Tower orbiting the sky bathed in the afterglow of the sun descended slowly from the firmament, stopping among the floating clouds dyed in red at the peak of the mountain.
This is the central point of the Empire’s aerial defense system, centered on the Golden Empire’s Dragon King Court, which in the future will radiate the entire empire’s sky and earth based on this foundation.
In the distance, giant dragons soared across the sky, those were the Imperial Lord Giant Dragons, with Blue Dragon Doss, Blue Dragon Akzhi, and White Dragon Gomot flying straight to the peak, disappearing into the depths of the clouds, concealing themselves from view.
Green Dragon Ali and Blue Dragon Carlette followed from afar after the other Lord Giant Dragons.
One of Blue Dragon Carlette’s wings was torn and severed, but this did not affect the dragon’s flying ability; the dragon wielded the gale and magic power to soar in the blue sky all the same.
However, without the support of a complete wing, Blue Dragon Carlette’s massive body found it difficult to change direction in the air and hard to control speed, so Green Dragon Ali, with whom a friendship was forged on the battlefield, braced against Blue Dragon Carlette’s body, helping her adjust direction and speed, flying side by side into the clouds.
Once the dragons flew over, the high tower on its predetermined path in the sky slowly lifted the magical veil, revealing its shadow.
A slender, ferocious adult Multi-headed Dragon was dropped into the air, crashing heavily onto the wide steps between the mountains.
Following closely behind were the towering Storm Giants descending from the high tower.
Finally, came the Emperor’s Guards, clad in Achilles Heavy Armor, carrying the heads of fallen giants.
When the portal of the high tower closed, the figure of Gabriel, the Commander of the Imperial Guard, also descended to the ground.
With the Heart Energy Light Wings retracted, Gabriel’s presence became more withdrawn along with his gentle demeanor, his body enveloped in the aura of Golden Dragon Face Armor exuding the intense presence of a Dragon-blood Descendant, no longer as saintly as before, but rather, somewhat fierce.
It made the Storm Giants new to this realm of dragon rulership hesitant, standing quietly to the side, gazing up at the towering mountain range shrouded in clouds.
Though among these peaks, the highest Fire Peak is only four thousand meters tall, far less towering than the Divine Forsaken Mountain Range. Yet, the dragon’s long-inhabited nest carries the same aura and domain as the dragons do.
A legendary dragon can influence the domain of an entire area surrounding its nest. Though the dragons in the Dragon Group are not as strong as the Legendary ones, their distinct and outstanding aura makes the towering peaks seem like giant dragons stretching their claws and teeth amid the clouds, overlooking all creatures.
Under the integration of the Master of Dragons, the entire mountain range is being permeated by the presence of the dragons, making it uniquely their domain.
Storm Giant Garcia even feels that the dragons living in these mountains possess a combat power two levels higher than the dragons’ actual might.
"Don’t play dead, get up,"
Commander Garcia, after dismissing the many Near Guards, kicked the pitiful Multi-headed Dragon, the first creature in the world possessing Ancestral Red Dragon’s blood, who also favored piercing enemies with chains through their jaws and skulls, to which this Multi-headed Giant Dragon was bound with a Refined Gold Iron Chain.
The untamed Multi-headed Giant Dragon dared not disobey the enemy’s orders now, dragging its heavily wounded body, it followed behind Gabriel, ascending the steps.
Storm Giant Garcia also led his tribe, ascending step by step.
In fact, these Storm Giants were not sufficient to rely on their size to reach the Dragon King Court on their own.
According to the Empire’s regulations, these wild tribal races have designated Imperial departments to liaise with, and even Reilly, the war lizardman leader blessed with a ’Breaking Technique’ treasure blade by the Ancestral Red Dragon, failed to reach the mountain peak as he wished.
This privilege stems from the brief but amicable exchanges between the Storm Giant Tribe and the Dragon Group in earlier years, allowing these Storm Giants to ascend the peaks as guests.
The tranquility along the way did not surprise these Storm Giants, although there were no guards, massive War Ancient Trees on either side of the path brazenly spied on these rare visitors.
Some Storm Giants, despite their tribes falling into decline in recent times and feeling grief and anger, grew more solemn under the unusually quiet atmosphere.
Yet, the figure revealed by the swirling clouds in the sky made Storm Giant Garcia look up.
A tiny Juvenile Dragon poked its head out in the swirling clouds, openly observing the Storm Giants from all angles.
The little Juvenile Dragon flew back and forth above the giants’ heads, occasionally tossing down clusters of clouds near the Storm Giants’ side. Yet these clouds did not dissipate but rather solidified, resembling soft rice balls.
Even with a confusing path ahead, Garcia, suppressing grief and anger, found his mood considerably relieved by the little Juvenile Dragon’s actions.
This was because the little dragon was not mocking them but rather feeding these giants. The small Juvenile Dragon chirped in the strange Dragon Language unintelligible to the Storm Giants, but its body language made Garcia understand.
The Juvenile Dragon believed that eating these treats would make the giants happy.
The giants did not refuse the dragon’s kindness, picking up the cloud clusters, holding them in their palms.
