Chapter 469: Chapter 22: Descent of the Heroic Spirit God

The head of recruitment affairs in the Dagonia region is an Exiled Knight from another Human Kingdom. Though he holds the power of recruitment for the region, it is almost impossible for him to set foot into this special legion’s area based purely on his status and duties.

The recruiting officer looked at these selected warriors. Despite their formidable strength, they continued to train tirelessly under commands and instructions.

He couldn’t help but admire, "Almost every lord in the world wants their warriors to obey their commands, but they only use simple rewards and punishments to achieve their goals."

"They don’t realize that relying on some small, seemingly tedious tasks can gradually make soldiers accustomed to obeying the orders of superiors. Even knights, who adhere to knightly codes and possess noble virtues, are not as disciplined as the Imperial legion warriors."

"It’s just a pity that the current knights have become the dirty gloves and lackeys of those noble lords." The recruiting officer showed a look of sadness on his face.

Karon at this moment walked among the mortal world as a Dragon Descendant, making his facial expressions appear richer now than in his True Form.

He knew that in those Human Kingdoms, knights are both the starting point of the noble class and represent a noble starting point.

The knights are also a unique power class that is as noble as casters born in many Human Kingdoms, requiring virtues like bravery, compassion, humility, and justice as the codes and doctrines of knights.

But Karon knew that even in the best of times, few could personally adhere to these knightly codes, and most merely adorned themselves with a noble facade while engaging in all sorts of filthy and vile acts in secret.

To be able to uphold neutrality is already considered outstanding.

He revealed a smile, looked at his recruiting officer, and said lightly, "Though the Imperium also cherishes noble virtues, it does not make a show of noble virtues,"

"For a nation, true strength is fundamental, and those virtuous reputations are merely by-products that follow."

The recruiting officer was slightly taken aback, then nodded thoughtfully, "Your Majesty is right, perhaps only Your Majesty’s wisdom recognizes that establishing these minute rules and training to restrain soldiers makes the legion stronger and more powerful."

The group passed through the vast new recruits training ground and through layers of stringent checkpoints before reaching the front of the true ’Burning Hooves’ military camp.

This solemn military camp looks more like a grand estate situated in the suburban wilderness, with a grand entrance wide enough for sixteen carriages to pass through side by side. Near the camp walls, soldiers wielding swords and clad in armor patrolled back and forth.

At every corner, there are tall turrets and watchtowers. Instead of soldiers wielding bows and swords, there were giant Armor-Piercing Crossbows.

These turrets and watchtowers are interconnected, forming a tightly woven net over the camp, so tightly woven that not even a flying bird or creeping reptile could escape this dense net.

The warriors clad in full, neat sets of armor shrouded their faces under cold face armor, holding sword hilts with gauntlets interwoven with steel.

Only upon seeing Karon’s arrival would these stern warriors lower their sword hilts and offer their loyalty to the rarely-seen Emperor.

But now, following alongside Karon, besides Fog Dragon Deniro and the two Imperial Guard who always protect the Dragon Emperor, even the head recruiter of Dagonia did not have the qualification to step into this camp.

Karon stepped into the heavily guarded camp and proceeded along the wide stone-stepped avenue. Within the ’Burning Hooves’ legion, several sub-groups were subdivided.

Among them, the "Bloodscale Frenzy Battle Group," initially a name for special Giant Dragons, is bestowed within the ’Burning Hooves’ legion to those warriors who bear diverse Dragon Blood honors.

There is also the ’Demon Hunters’ battle corps, whose warriors bear some unique or powerful Demon’s Blood. These warriors do not take pride in bearing the Demon’s Blood but take pride in conquering the Demon’s Blood.

Only those warriors who have successfully conquered the Demon’s Blood are absorbed by the ’Demon Hunters’ battle corps. These warriors, loyal to the Emperor of the Imperial with their unique power, applied for this battle corps title to avoid misunderstanding their power by other legions.

Similarly, one stationed area in this camp belongs to warriors with the Demon’s Blood, and their battle corps title is much simpler—’Dragon Demon Fiend Battle Corps’, meaning that even demons must offer their loyalty to the dragons.

Another special camp station consists of mixed battle corps born from other experimental ancient bloodlines, as their bloodline sources are unstable or too rare to form separate corps, so they are mixed and compiled together.

This battle corps is the ’Thousand Sons Battle Corps’ of the Giant Dragon Empire, symbolizing the countless offspring of Giant Dragons.

However, Karon did not rush to enter other battle corps’ campsites but came to the first grand building he saw on the far right within the camp.

Size is the foremost characteristic of this building; from the exterior alone, it equates to the central area of any luxurious estate.
