Chapter 456: Chapter 17: And You, My Brother_2
The Soul Raider Demon Lord Batos snorted two streams of black smoke from his nostrils, showing a grim smile as he said, "Well, how do you like that?"
Although trading with these demonic evil entities bears many risks, there are still many beings in the mortal world who covet the power of demons.
Mortals would trade with demons for magic or other boons, while the demon lords controlled their mortal servants to carry out vast evil plans. Yet, demons merely regard these mortals as tools, expendable pawns to be discarded at will and whose souls are ultimately harvested into the Bottomless Abyss.
However, the Soul Raider Demon before us is somewhat different from other demon lords.
This Soul Raider Demon Lord named Batos is clearly aware of knowledge not meant for entities of his level. His purpose aligns with that of some beings with Divine-like Power, relying on mortals to spread his name, and deceitfully gaining praise and worship from those beneath him.
This individual knows how to convert fame into primitive power, and the more people who know him, the more likely he is to advance further.
Moreover, Batos is extremely ambitious. He has already begun to attempt to imitate and learn from the great demon lords and even the divine spirits before achieving a powerful status akin to Divine-like Power.
This has been inspired by the successful examples of several powerful demon lords, such as Baphomet, the King of Minotaurs, and Demogorgan, known as the Abyssal Lord of twin-headed baboons, as well as Jupiter Lex, the Abyssal Lord known as the Faceless.
And Yenogu, the King of Jackal Wolfmen, the demon lord of all Jackal Wolfmen worldwide. These unique beings have all attained true divinity through similar means.
The lost Undying Divine Power, whose name has been erased from all records in the Bottomless Abyss, is also such a case.
These Abyss Lords, using their evil means and force of will, have carved out their positions in the Multi-Cosmos.
Although Dragon Descendant Giant Demon Zu Jia does not understand all this, regardless of what exorbitant terms the other side offers, he will nod and agree after a feigned moment of hesitation.
Thus, Giant Demon Zu Jia utilized all the acting skills and strength he accumulated in the first half of his life, straining to contort his facial muscles so much that even Reilly, who was beside him, couldn’t bear to watch, coughing twice before the giant demon solemnly nodded his head.
"I said, no matter the cost, I will save my tribe," Giant Demon Zu Jia’s eyes flickered as he spoke in a grave tone, "As long as you can fulfill your promise to defeat or kill that Hydra, our Blood Claw Tribe will fulfill this commitment."
"Very well, I will let you know how strong and merciful the divine spirit and lord you serve truly is," the Soul Raider Demon Lord Batos, satisfied with the response, stepped towards that dark, perpetually toxin-oozing lair.
"Come out, my good dog," Batos sneered as he released his enslaved soul, a demon from the Abyss, yet resembling a melee-civilized Blazemon.
This kind of demon is a heavy infantryman in the Abyss, reveling in slicing through flesh and the spillage of blood, possibly a former enemy who lost to the Soul Raider Demon Batos in a competition for a little lord position.
The demon soul appeared in its usual form, its entire body ulcerated and pustular, with a tall, thin frame decorated with patches of short bristles.
It bore a large, pale ram head with curved horns, cold eyes, and a mouth drooling sticky saliva with protruding needle-like teeth.
Its snake-like tail twisted, ending in a tangled metal thorn. Despite its emaciated form, the beast-like demon wielded a disproportionately large trident with an unsettling grace as it quietly slipped into the dark lair.
Roar,
It was only a moment later when the angry roars and pained howls of a giant beast echoed from the dark cavern, the strong poisonous mist pouring out. The Blazemon, carrying its trident, leisurely floated out from the cave.
Rumble,
From the sound of a colossal creature shifting within, immense heads emerged one after another, resembling giant snakes with blue-green skin and cold vertical pupils like those of a beast.
The central head alone bore a faintly gilded layer, making it appear particularly majestic.
"You dare disturb me during my nap, you truly deserve death," the chilling words accompanied by a hissing sound,
Behind the nine heads lay a massive body, its twenty meters of length marking it as a sizable entity even among serpents.
"You dare betray me," the hydra-like Nine-headed Hydra named Hydra, her cold snake eyes lighting up with anger as she turned to face the demon lord Batos.
The hissing filled with the strong abyssal scent caused her fury to surge even more, "Go back to your abyss, where you belong, demon, you wish to claim my beloved?"
"Hehe, a pure-blooded Hydra not yet matured, even across many material planes, is rare," demon Batos revealed a peculiar gaze.
He sneered, "If you surrender now, it’s not too late. Otherwise, killing a pure-blooded Hydra—even for a demon—would be a shame. You should become the guardian of my sect."
