The vultures immediately opened their wings too.
Catching the wind, they just barely managed to remain above Feng.
SCREECH! SCREECH!
Their cries echoed loudly as they began circling around them.
Due to their sudden stop, they were forced to reform their attacks.
Theo jumped into action right away.
’’Attack!’’ he shouted, lightning bolts already forming around him.
The others responded immediately.
A large earthen warhammer formed in Owen’s hands as a wide grin spread across his face.
’’Hey, horse!’’ he called out excitedly. ’’You can catch me if I fall, right?’’
Feng’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he responded calmly.
’’Yes.’’
’’Good,’’ Owen grinned.
Only a second later, large earth platforms began forming in midair.
Owen kicked off Feng’s back and jumped onto them.
Platform after platform, he climbed higher into the sky.
Just then, a nearby vulture swooped down towards him, razor-sharp rocks wrapped around its claws.
’’You thought!’’ Owen shouted.
He slammed his hammer into the platform beneath him.
CRACK!
It shattered instantly.
Only, Owen had long let go of the hammer and used its momentum to launch himself upward.
The vulture screeched loudly, trying to change its path.
’’Too late!’’
Owen formed another platform above him and kicked off it.
Thud!
He landed straight on top of the vulture.
At the same time, a large white summoning portal appeared beside Lyra.
Out flew a familiar harpy, which had grown nearly twice as large as before, followed by an even larger blue manta-like creature.
Both creatures rapidly grew larger under Lyra’s buff.
’’Hop on!’’ she shouted, glancing back at Jim and Iris.
Iris moved immediately, jumping onto the large manta-like creature.
Jim only stared at Lyra for a second with his mouth open.
’’Ah, screw this,’’ he finally said, jumping onto the harpy’s back.
The two set off right away, each soaring towards a vulture.
RUMBLE!
The sky rapidly began to darken above them.
Theo had long since fired off his lightning bolts, forming a heavenly thunderstorm in the air.
A golden light rapidly spread through the clouds, condensing into several large lightning spheres.
’Now!’ he thought, flicking his fingers.
CRACKLE! CRACKLE!
Four massive lightning beams shot down.
They danced wildly through the sky, reaching their targets in the blink of an eye.
Just as a diving vulture was about to reach Feng, a lightning beam slammed into it.
The beast didn’t even have time to react.
Its entire body was swallowed by blinding golden light before exploding into a shower of charred feathers.
A second beam crashed into the flock above.
Three vultures bunched together, forming a massive earth shield above them.
BOOM!
The explosion sent two vultures spiraling away in opposite directions.
CRACK! CRACK!
Both were instantly struck by the remaining two bolts, disintegrating them on the spot.
The last vulture barely escaped, though one of its wings had been scorched black.
’’CATCH ME, HORSEY!’’ Owen’s voice suddenly echoed out beside him.
Theo just barely managed to look beside him, only to see a vulture helplessly flailing as it tumbled toward the ground.
Dark flames had spread all over its body, refusing to extinguish no matter how much wind it used on itself.
Owen floated just above it, surrounded by a gentle green wind.
’’Good one,’’ he said, smiling from ear to ear.
Theo nodded once.
Then his attention shifted back to the fight.
’Five down,’ he thought, glancing around. ’Two are engaged by the others.’
That left just three, one of which he’d already injured lightly.
Owen had just barely sat back down on Feng when Theo turned towards him.
’’Can you make me more platforms?’’ he asked, pointing at the remaining vultures.
’’Uh?’’ Owen started before nodding once. ’’Sure!’’
A small smile appeared on Theo’s face.
Suddenly, lightning began sparking around his body.
His veins slowly lit up a deep yellow. His hair stood on end, lightning sparking between each strand.
Finally, even his pupils disappeared as yellow light shone from his eyes.
’’What the hell?’’ Owen muttered, raising an eyebrow.
Despite his confusion, several earth platforms had already started forming in the sky.
’’You can spread them out a little further,’’ Theo said rapidly. ’’I can make it just fine.’’
Before Owen could respond, Theo disappeared from where he stood.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Each earth platform he jumped from shattered beneath his feet.
In an instant, he hung in the air above another vulture.
Seeing its body completely coated in earth, Theo swiftly summoned his forked spear from his system space.
Before the creature could even react, he landed on its back.
A second later, he jumped away again.
Behind him, the vulture began plummeting out of the sky, its neck having been severed cleanly.
’’Damn,’’ Owen muttered, almost having trouble keeping up.
He quickly began spreading his platforms further apart.
In only a few seconds, a perfect path had been set up towards the last two vultures.
Crack! Crack!
A yellow blur shot across the sky once more.
Each platform shattered the instant the blur pushed off it.
The remaining vultures immediately sensed the danger.
SCREEECH!
The uninjured one abruptly banked away, flapping its wings with all its strength.
Shing! Shing! Shing!
Dozens of compressed wind blades shot toward Theo from every angle.
Theo didn’t slow down in the slightest.
His body shone even brighter, lightning crackling in a five-yard radius around him.
Each wind blade that reached him instantly evaporated.
Crack!
Another platform exploded underneath his feet.
The vulture let out a desperate screech.
Wind mana began gathering around its wings as it sped off.
’Trying to run?’ Theo thought, raising his spear in the middle of the air.
A massive amount of lightning began gathering around it, lighting up the sky like a beacon.
’Try again!’
He swung down his spear with all his strength.
A massive lightning arc shot through the air.
The fleeing vulture only had the chance to look back for a moment.
BOOM!
The sky lit up in a bright yellow light.
As the lightning faded, two large chunks plummeted from the sky.
The vulture had been sliced cleanly in half.

As Theo glanced behind him, he couldn’t help but pause for a moment.
The last vulture was already falling from the sky.
A large blood spear had been plunged deep into its chest, while ice needles stuck out all over the rest of its body.
’Eh?’ he thought, glancing up slightly.
