Chapter 160: Chapter 160 - Creating Trouble

The three quickly made their way through the university grounds.

Compared to before, Theo noticed many more students of similar ages walking around everywhere.

’Now the people that actually had to sign up are starting to come in...’ 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

They weren’t specially selected students like him and Owen or the actual super rich individuals, which meant they couldn’t enjoy the pre-admission benefits either.

’I guess most of them sit around A and S-rank talents?’ he thought, narrowing his eyes. ’Maybe a few B-ranks too, who must’ve come from slightly wealthier families.’

He glanced behind him for a moment, confirming both Iris and Lyra were still following him.

A hint of curiosity couldn’t help but flicker through his eyes.

’I wonder what they’d be considered as...’

Then his gaze flickered back to the front.

They’d already arrived at the massive building in which he’d previously registered himself.

Theo pushed the doors open without wasting a second.

But the moment he stepped inside, his expression stiffened slightly.

An enormous line stretched through the entire lobby, easily several dozen people long.

’’...You’ve got to be kidding me.’’

Behind him, Iris and Lyra also came to a halt.

Both let out deep breaths from the quick pace they’d taken on.

’’What happened?’’

Theo glanced behind, forcing a smile onto his face.

’’Don’t worry about it.’’

He glanced at his phone to see the time.

Seeing only a few minutes remaining, his eyes twitched.

’If I’m not there, Elise is going to be pretty upset...’

He immediately spun around toward the two girls.

’’By the way, when signing up for Westridge, were either of you ever told if you were normal students or pre-admission students?’’

For a brief moment, both girls hesitated slightly.

Then Iris slowly nodded first.

"I think I was supposed to be a pre-admission student," she said quietly.

Lyra blinked once before immediately raising her hand as well.

"Same here," she responded. "I honestly didn’t pay that much attention though."

Theo nodded slowly.

Honestly, he’d expected something like that already.

An S-rank advanced element and someone from a larger family like the Blackwoods would never be treated like ordinary students.

"Alright," he said immediately. "Change of plans."

The two girls blinked in confusion.

Theo pointed toward the massive line stretching throughout the lobby.

"You see that line there?" he asked. "From how I understand it, neither of you should actually have to stand in it."

Lyra narrowed her eyes, not fully understanding.

’’Pre-admission students receive separate treatment,’’ Theo explained quickly. ’’We can just skip all of them with no issues.’’

Iris raised an eyebrow.

She pulled on the edge of his sleeve softly, clearly conflicted.

’’But... isn’t that kind of rude?’’

Theo paused for a moment.

He’d probably have thought the same in the past and just politely lined up to avoid bothering others.

But now?

Not anymore, really.

’’Doesn’t matter,’’ he responded calmly. ’’We’ve earned that treatment because the university specifically wants us here.’’

Then he glanced at the massive line again.

’’Besides, I really don’t have the time to just be standing around here.’’

The two girls couldn’t help but look at each other with unease.

Before they could fully come to terms with it, Theo had already started walking forward.

Instead of heading toward the back of the line, he simply walked past it entirely and made his way straight toward the front desks.

Almost instantly, countless confused looks landed on him.

Several people frowned immediately.

’’Hey!’’ one guy shouted from the line. ’’The back’s over there!’’

Theo didn’t even slow down.

Neither did Iris and Lyra, having accepted the situation.

As he neared the counter, the girl standing in front of it took a few steps back, clearly completely caught off guard by what was happening.

Theo smiled slightly and nodded once.

Then his eyes landed on the blond woman behind the counter.

’Oh, it’s her,’ he thought, his smile growing even wider.

A flicker of recognition ran through the woman’s eyes too, followed by a smile.

’’Theo Lane,’’ she said, nodding politely. ’’Your name has certainly been mentioned a lot this past week.’’

Theo raised an eyebrow, caught off guard.

’’Both you and Owen seem to have caused quite a stir,’’ the woman chuckled as she put down a stack of papers. ’’Never have I seen Adrian and Elise run by my office this many times in such a short period.’’

Just as Theo opened his mouth, several voices echoed out behind him.

’’What is this?’’

’’We were clearly in line first, why is he just allowed to walk up here?’’

Even the girl who’d stepped aside earlier spoke up, clearly angered.

’’I was just signing up!’’ she said while crossing her arms. ’’Who are you and why do you think you can just walk up here?!’’

For a moment, angry whispers and murmurs spread all throughout the lobby.

Many people were waiting on Theo’s response.

But he only smiled as he turned toward them.

After all, the blond woman’s smile had already completely vanished.

The atmosphere shifted immediately as a heavy pressure pressed down on the squirming students.

’’Is there a problem?’’ she asked, her cold voice echoing through the hall.

Students who’d been talking just moments ago stiffened completely.

Even the angry girl hesitated for a moment.

The blond woman folded her arms together on the counter.

’’If this student was not allowed to stand here,’’ she continued coldly, ’’I would’ve removed him myself already.’’

Even those not in line, whether freshman or senior students, couldn’t help but look over.

Then her gaze sharpened.

’’Or is it that you think I don’t understand the rules? Or simply that the rules don’t apply to you?’’

No one dared utter another word.

The girl who’d shouted earlier went pale instantly.

’’Let me make myself very clear,’’ she finally said. ’’This will be the first and LAST time any of you question the university’s staff.’’

With that, she leaned back again.

A smile appeared on her face as she glanced back at Theo.

Theo’s attention was still on the students though.

He felt several dozen angry stares tearing into his back, clearly showing him how upset the other students were.

Yet, strangely enough, he didn’t care about them in the slightest.

A light chuckle came out from behind the counter, snapping him out of his observation.

As Theo turned back, clear amusement was visible in the woman’s eyes.

’’Well now,’’ she said lightly. ’’Look at you.’’

Theo raised an eyebrow slightly.

’’You seem to have adapted to the school quite well already.’’

Then her gaze briefly flickered toward the irritated students behind him.

’’Aren’t you worried about all those angry looks?’’ she asked curiously.

Theo was stunned for a moment, but then also broke out into a smile.

’’Not really anymore,’’ he said calmly. ’’Seeing that they’ve only just arrived means they were weaker than me to begin with.’’

Silence fell throughout the lobby.

Each and every one of the students there looked furious hearing that.

Meanwhile, the blond woman’s smile only widened further.

’’Good answer,’’ she said approvingly.

Then she leaned slightly against the desk.

’’Now then,’’ she said calmly, as if nothing had happened moments ago. ’’What exactly are you here for today?’’

Theo immediately pointed behind himself toward Iris and Lyra.

’’Those two need to get registered properly,’’ he explained quickly. ’’Both should be pre-admission students.’’

Her gaze flickered to the two girls for a moment.

Then she slowly nodded.

’’A bit late in the pre-admission season,’’ she said. ’’But I can still arrange some very good coaches for them.’’

Theo nodded, taking his arm off the counter.

’’That’d be very nice.’’

Within a few seconds, two registration papers floated through the air toward the girls.

Theo noticed their names were already on them, clearly showing that the blond woman knew who they were.

’’Just let them hand those in once they’re done,’’ she said calmly while organizing several other documents together.

Then she glanced back up again.

’’I’ll personally message their instructors to come over here.’’

Theo nodded once more, smiling gratefully.

’’Thank you again,’’ he said. ’’But I really have to leave for Elise now!’’

The woman’s expression instantly became strange.

’’Then why are you still standing here?’’ she said immediately. ’’Go before she decides to come here personally.’’

Theo turned around slowly.

Clearly, Elise’s reputation stretched much, much further than he’d expected.

He quickly waved at Lyra and Iris.

Then, lightning flickered to life under his feet.

WHOOSH!

Several nearby students jumped in shock from the sudden burst of speed.

Within only a few seconds, Theo had already disappeared completely from sight.

’Come on,’ he thought, pushing through the door. ’Only two minutes left...’

The very last thing he wanted was to upset Elise right now.

There were many things he still needed to explain and hear about after all. Not to mention giving her the envelope Alia had written.

Within a minute, he appeared in front of the massive training building.

The moment his timer finally reached zero, he skidded to a halt in front of the doors.

CREAKK!

The heavy doors shifted open in front of him.

Revealing Elise already standing there silently with a long pole resting in her hands.

And for some reason...

Her expression seemed to be even darker and colder than usual.
