Chapter 65: Ch104. Hunt - 2
Evellyn and Nikolai got up and stared at Cinthia.
"What?" She shrugged.
"We thought you didn’t like us." Evellyn retorted, dusting her clothes.
"Well..." Caleb answered in Cinthia’s stead. "To be honest, we like you two, but ever since you guys started to hang out with that Blake dude, I don’t know anymore."
"BUT it’s an argument for another time." Cinthia said, knowing how Caleb could go on for hours about that Blake dude. "For now, we have to focus on getting out of here."
"Did Kurt warn you, too?" Evellyn asked, done with Nikolai’s things. "Let’s go."
"No, but I was in my room, someone knocked on my door, almost brought it down, and tried to kill me. So I thought it wasn’t a coincidence, after what happened to you two, so I came here to check if everything was okay and... Well, it wasn’t. Now, where are we going?"
"First, out of the academy, and then, somewhere safe." Nikolai answered, looking over his shoulder and around, to see if they were being followed.
As they half walked, half ran towards the dorm’s exit, they kept talking, but as soon as they stepped outside the dorm, they saw dozens of Dark-Green and Crimson students surrounding the building.
"If it isn’t the famous irregulars..." The professor of Classes Theory stepped forward, his smile turning to a wicked grin. "Why are you running away from this lovely institution? Afraid to be punished for wrecking havoc all around?"
"So even the professors are in on this?" Evellyn shouted, stomping her foot on the ground. ’If only I-’
Before she was done with the thought, a firearm flew towards her.
When she caught it, she saw another one flying towards Nikolai.
"Here, I made some adjustments." Cinthia said. "Now they support freely infused energy bullets, and they don’t need you to keep recharging them with your own energy."
Evellyn and Nikolai smiled, but Nikolai’s smile was a bit bigger than Evellyn’s.
"Just make sure to hit them all times, I don’t think we have ammo for all of them." Caleb retorted.
"No problem." Nikolai said, grinning. "ATTACK!"
"Who made you the leader...?" Cinthia sighed. "Fuck... ATTACK!"
Evellyn and Nikolai stood behind, backing Cinthia and Caleb up.
Caleb was incredibly swift, and surprisingly strong.
He moved through his enemies with precision, wasting little to no movements, almost like Kurt. But every time he closed in on an enemy, his hands burst with electric energy, and the attackers would fall unconscious, due to the extremely high electric discharge upon their bodies.
Cinthia was less subtle, though.
She didn’t have much of Caleb’s technique, but where she lacked it, she compensated with brute force and destructive power.
It didn’t matter where she touched their enemies. The energy coating her fists, exploded within her enemies with less than a second of delay, almost as if she punched them two times, every time.
Nikolai almost laughed every time his finger pulled the trigger.
His aim was so precise that every shot was a one hit kill.
"It’s good to finally have a pistol back!" He hushed to himself, grinning widely.
Evellyn, however, was struggling with her aim, and for every five shots, she would hit one or two.
She never been a combative person, depending more on knives or swords, and more purely on her Precognition.
However, she wasn’t doing so bad herself.
The problem was that there were too many enemies, and their ammo was slowly depleting.
Both Cinthia and Caleb were running out of stamina.
And the attackers were closing in.

"How do you know about the coma?" Kurt asked, avoiding Rodrick’s huge fist that already almost hit him a few times.
"If you survive, I’ll tell you, but you won’t!" Rodrick yelled with the headmaster’s voice, jumping backwards and putting his fists together.
Rodrick’s body began oozing energy, and the more power he emanated, the harder it felt for Kurt to even breathe.
Kurt huffed, breathing heavily while moving forward.
"It’s impressive that a kid like you are able to move while I’m exerting my awakened trait." Rodrick said. "But in a few seconds, you won’t be able to even breathe..."
A small, black sphere began forming in front of Rodrick’s fists, and the gravity in the room suddenly weighed more and more.
Kurt almost stumbled to the ground, but hi focused on his stats and his willpower, giving one more step forward.
’I just needed a weapon... Come on, shut it! You don’t have a weapon, so stop complaining. You’re not that Kurt!’ He smacked his face internally, raising his fists and focusing on getting used to the heavier gravity.
"How do you like my Black Hole, kid?" Rodrick said, and his eyes glowed with the bright red light.
Then, they weren’t Rodrick’s eyes. They were nothing but a pair of Ishir’s eyes, and it enraged Kurt.
[YOU’RE ADAPTING FASTER DUE TO THE – ENRAGE – EFFECT]
"Who the fuck are you...?" Kurt asked, feeling the weight of the Black Hole’s gravity around him slowly subsiding.
"I’m the headmaster, and soon, you’ll be a dead wielder." The headmaster’s voice sounded again through Rodrick’s throat.
[THE SUBJECT HAS THE ABILITY TO SHARE SOMEONE’S MIND FOR A LIMITED AMOUNT OF TIME]
"Oh... Thanks, system." Kurt smirked.
He had an answer, but it only seemed to leave him cornered.
’But I can’t kill him, right...?’
[IT WOULD AFFECT YOUR MIND AND BREAK YOUR WILL, YES]
The black sphere in front of Rodrick’s fists began growing larger and larger, and Kurt began feeling as if his body was being pulled towards it.
Kurt thought for less than a second, and the black sphere in front of him gave him an idea.
’System, how’s the situation with my Void Points?"
[UNDEFINED, DUE TO CONVERSION]
’Can I use it?’
[OVER THE SAME CONDITIONS, YES]
’Good.’ "Let’s play, then." Kurt grinned.
"You must have gone crazy, smiling like that when you’re about to die..." The headmaster’s voice laughed. "I’ll make you an offer. How about you serve me, and I let you live?"
Suddenly, though, everything began losing color.
It was as if the light was being drained from all around. Even Rodrick/The headmaster raised his brow, feeling uneasy.
"How about I find you and kill you?" Kurt grinned even wider.
"You wouldn’t kill me, right? I’m your fatherly figure, after all..." Rodrick’s expression became concerned.
"No... You’re just one of the Ishir that unfortunately took control over Rodrick’s body." Everything went dark, pitch black, and Kurt’s voice echoed through the darkness. "One thing you should learn... You shouldn’t leave so many hints as you speak."
The power of Kurt’s [LIGHT ABSORPTION] was so strong that even Rodrick’s Black Hole felt weaker.
But Kurt felt stronger than ever, moving all around with a freedom that he only experienced once, the first time he used that skill.
’I don’t know how the darkness fills me with power, but it’s amazing!’
He moved and moved, while Rodrick looked all around, trying to get his vision adapted to the dark, but completely unsuccessful.
"How long til the effects of the headmaster’s ability wear off?"
"What are you talking about? Why are you asking me?" The headmaster’s voice sounded surprised, concerned. "How do you even know about it?"
[30 SECONDS]
"That’s more than enough!" Kurt smirked.
He let Rodrick speaking with the headmaster’s voice, and focused on moving around him, hitting everywhere he could with his fists reinforced with his heightened stats.
Rodrick screamed with pain as his joints got dislocated and time passed by.
[20 SECONDS]
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT IT? ARGH!" Rodrick/The headmaster screamed as Kurt’s fists hit and hit.
[10 SECONDS]
"Don’t you dare forget it. I’ll find you, and kill you." Kurt punched him again.
[05 SECONDS]
[04 SECONDS]
[03 SECONDS]
[02 SECONDS]
[01 SECOND]
"You won’t lay a finger on me, because I have your friends, you insolent virus!"
Finally, Rodrick’s body fell unconscious to the floor, and Kurt deactivated his skill.
But now, he had something else to be concerned about.
And his right fist, as he looked at it, was severely broken.
