Chapter 448: Chapter 169: Tianshui Takes on a Disciple, Chen Chang’an Mentors a Child!_3
Daozang Mountain has a rule: each new disciple who comes to the mountain has the right to cultivate a piece of Spirit Field here.
This Spirit Field will accompany the disciple for the entirety of their life on Daozang Mountain, until they either die or leave the Mountain Gate.
Once the disciple owns a Spirit Field, in the future, ten percent of all the Spiritual Objects it yields will be given to the Mountain Gate, another ten percent to the Sect, and the remaining eighty percent will belong entirely to the disciple.
This is a benefit Daozang Mountain gives to each new disciple, but it is also a test.
Farming, especially Spirit Field farming, is not an easy task that requires patience.
According to the rules, when Chen Chang’an first joined, he also came here to cultivate a Spirit Field. However, because of his mental deficiency at the time, the task was delayed and never completed.
This is why Chen Chang’an seldom comes here.
Of course, the main reason is that he doesn’t lack these resources, so it doesn’t matter to him.
"Greetings, master (Mountain lord, Uncle)"
By the time Chen Chang’an and Mao Ruxue arrived at the spirit channel, Chen Yi and Lin Qingxue had already led the disciples here.
It was apparent that they had been here for quite some time.
"Get up."
Chen Chang’an nodded, then signaled for everyone to rise.
"Qing Xue, have you told them all the rules?" Chen Chang’an turned to Lin Qingxue and asked.
Lin Qingxue saluted: "Master, I have explained everything. We are just waiting for your command."
"Good, let’s begin." As soon as Chen Chang’an heard the reply, he quickly nodded, and then announced the cultivation.
"Yes, Master."
Lin Qingxue saluted again, then she led the disciples to start farming.
Chen Chang’an watched quietly, offering no commentary or advice.
When it comes to cultivating Spirit Fields, Chen Chang’an will not interfere.
Although each disciple has their own field, how and where they choose to cultivate it is up to them.
As for whether they end up with a good plot or a poor one, the disciples need to figure it out for themselves.
Before long, the disciples below were working with great enthusiasm.
"Elder Brother, I want to go too," Mao Ruxue said to Chen Chang’an, unable to contain her excitement.
"There’s no rush for you." However, Chen Chang’an shook his head in response to Mao Ruxue’s comment.
Then, before Mao Ruxue could say anything else, he led her to a field overrun with weeds.
"Elder Brother, why have you brought me here?"
Mao Ruxue looked at the field, its quality was subpar. If anything were to grow here, it certainly wouldn’t be high-quality Spirit Grass.
She didn’t quite understand why her Elder Brother had brought her here.
"This is the Spirit Field of our master. I want to entrust it to you."
"Junior Sister, can you handle it?"
However, Chen Chang’an’s next words were unexpected.
"Elder Brother, what?"
Hearing Chen Chang’an’s words, Mao Ruxue was stunned.
She finally understood why this Spirit Field appeared to be of low quality. It had been left uncultivated.
There is a rule on Daozang Mountain; every disciple who comes here receives a Spirit Field.
But there is another stipulation.
After a disciple dies or leaves the sect, the Spirit Field is passed on to their disciples or successors.
If there are no disciples or successors, the Spirit Field is re-cultivated and returned to nature.
This duty is undertaken by the disciples of Daozang Mountain or the younger generation of the Tianshui Sect.
This is how Daozang Mountain has always functioned.
There was one exception to this, however.
That was the previous generation, the generation of the Mountain Lord, Yang Han.
In his generation, almost all of Daozang Mountain’s people were wiped out.
An entire mountain, home to hundreds, if not thousands of people, was reduced to a lone survivor: Yang Han.
Afterwards, Yang Han offered his position as Mountain Lord in exchange for the Tianshui Sect preserving the Spirit Fields.
Then, when Daozang Mountain recruited new disciples, they would inherit these Spirit Fields.
In the end, Li Daoran accepted this condition.
However, he did not accept Yang Han’s decision to give up his position as Mountain Lord.
And so, these fields were preserved.
Mao Ruxue could easily guess that these fields were the ones left from that time.
However, shouldn’t the cultivation of these Spirit Fields fall to the Mountain Lord, her Elder Brother?
Why would he ask her to do it?
Mao Ruxue was instantly confused.
