Chapter 145: Chapter 98: Expedition, Void Demon Whale!_3
Despite the Void Demon Whale’s lack of consciousness and its instinctual draw to slaughter, it would still instinctively flee when seriously injured.
The Void Demon Whale, the Void Demon Whale.
The reason this creature is named the Void Demon Whale is due to its formidable ability to escape within the Void, slipping away beyond any resolution.
There simply isn’t a solution to this sort of escape, even for Yin Tianzi, a Cultivator of the Ninth Stage.
Henceforth, he sought the assistance of the four, including Chen Chang’an.
Although the four individuals had not yet reached the Ninth Stage of cultivation, their combined efforts were formidable.
If the four could restrain the Void Demon Whale for a period of time, it would be essentially trapped.
"So, that’s the plan. Tianzi, when do we begin?"
The world the Void Demon Whale dwells in doesn’t exist within the Wuxiang realm, it’s in one of the nine heavens, the sole Demon World.
There, demonic creatures are endless, it’s the place where boundless demonic creatures like the Void Demon Whale are gathered.
Demonic creatures are not the same as Demonic Cultivators. The latter, at least, are human
But the former, they are true demons, knowing only slaughter and bloodlust!
Heading to the sole Demon World is not an easy task, and would require a substantial amount of preparation time.
"We’ll set off after four hours," Yin Tianzi pondered and decided.
"After four hours, I will open the passage to the Demon World. You four can enter from there."
"It’s just right, with these four hours, Emperor Song, you all can sort out your palace affairs, making it easier to depart later."
"Yes, Tianzi."
At once, the four individuals including Chen Chang’an nodded upon hearing this command.
Subsequently, they each returned to their respective residences.
Emperor Song’s Palace.
As soon as Chen Chang’an had returned, he sensed that the atmosphere was not right.
The entire Great Hall was filled with a stern air.
"Hmm? What is going on here?"
Chen Chang’an instantly furrowed his brows, and stepped into the hall.
"Let’s halt the discussion for now, the lord has returned."
Just as he got to the entrance of the hall, Chen Chang’an heard the voices of the pair [Black and White Impermanence] inside.
Chen Chang’an promptly stepped into the hall.
"We respectfully greet the lord."
Upon seeing Chen Chang’an enter, the pair [Black Impermanence] hurriedly bowed and greeted.
"Alright, be at ease." Chen Chang’an waved his hand to signify that the two could rise.
Then, he turned to [Black Impermanence] and asked:
"Impermanence, has something happened?"
Hearing Chen Chang’an’s question, hesitation filled the faces of both [Black Impermanence] and [White Impermanence]. They stuttered as if conflicted about whether to respond.
"White, you tell me."
Since no one spoke up, Chen Chang’an directed his gaze towards White Impermanence.
"Yes, lord."
When White Impermanence heard Chen Chang’an summon her, she no longer held back. She gave a full report of how the City God had betrayed the cause in the general hall earlier.
What they did not know was that Chen Chang’an was already aware of this incident.
"Oh? So it’s about this?"
"I’ve already been informed."
When [White Impermanence] finished speaking, Chen Chang’an nodded, signaling his understanding.
"You did, lord?"
Upon hearing that Chen Chang’an already knew, [White Impermanence] appeared startled before asking:
"Then lord, what are we to do about City God?"
"No need."
Chen Chang’an waved his hand.
Then, his voice fell cold and he stated:
"City God has already been obliterated by me!"
Huh?!
Hearing this statement from Chen Chang’an, [White Impermanence] and the others were shocked. They simultaneously looked up at him, astonishment clear in their hearts.
Once again, Chen Chang’an’s voice echoed in the Grand Hall:
"I obliterated him on a mountain slope of Taoshu Mountain in the Tianshui region."
"That’s the same mountain where Chen Chang’an—the Great Scholar from Tianshui everyone has been talking about recently—resides."
"Lord, are you implying...that you’re framing Tianshui’s Chen Chang’an?" Hearing Chen Chang’an’s words, [Black Impermanence] had a sudden realization. He seemed to have grasped something, yet still asked with uncertainty.
"Yes, indeed," Chen Chang’an nodded.
Continuing he said:
"This act I executed was very discreet, the other party has not discovered that it was my doing."
Upon hearing Chen Chang’an’s words, Black and White Impermanence were filled with even more doubt:
Both questioned: "But Lord, it has been said that this Tianshui’s Chen Chang’an was seriously injured many years ago. Although he has now become a Great Scholar, his lifespan has been reduced by almost ninety percent."
"It’s even uncertain whether he can survive until the great era arrives, let alone anything else."
"Why go to such lengths to frame such a man?"
The pair—Black and White Impermanence—touched on a point of great confusion. They conceded that the Great Scholar from Tianshui was indeed formidable, but he did not have much life left.
His potential was such that one could see his limits at a glance. Putting a great deal of effort into framing such a man - wasn’t that a waste?
"No, Impermanence, you two are wrong." Chen Chang’an shook his head.
"Everything is not as it appears."
"You may not discern potential in him, but I see something different entirely."
Upon saying this, Chen Chang’an looked at the two, his words thick with implication:
"Behind him, there might be a half-saint from the Rumen sect!"
A Rumen half-saint??!!
Hearing Chen Chang’an’s words, Black and White Impermanence were startled.
So, the root of the matter lay here after all.
