Chapter 842: Chapter 365: The Chartist Movement and the Pact (Part 3)

"So in the workers’ perspective, Prime Minister Ron is the real enemy. Quite a few people hold the attitude that once Prime Minister Ron is eliminated, the charter movement can proceed smoothly."

Wu Chang was momentarily at a loss for words, clicking his tongue and commenting,

"It seems our Prime Minister Ron isn’t very popular."

No wonder Raventon said before that the prime minister’s assassination was carried out with tacit approval from multiple parties.

What they need to investigate is not who has the motive to assassinate the prime minister, but who couldn’t resist making the first move.

"If the next step in investigating the assassination of Prime Minister Ron is to investigate workers’ activities, then investigations into the Steam Council might be conducted simultaneously."

This time it was Raventon’s turn to be puzzled. He asked, "How will they be conducted simultaneously?"

Wu Chang said, "I didn’t have the chance to tell you before. When I entered the area for refining coal essence, my inspiration told me that the cause of the Pine Tree Coal Mine explosion was an uninvited guest invading the area."

"That uninvited guest was a miner thief named Mick who knows communication magic."

Raventon’s lips twitched slightly, his eyebrows knitted together as he looked at Wu Chang with a strange expression.

"Are you sure this was told to you by your inspiration, and not because you seized a member of the Steam Council and forced it out while I was not paying attention?"

What a joke, the reason inspiration is called inspiration is because it’s just a vague feeling.

Whose inspiration can be specific to a person’s identity, name, or even the type of magic used?

Wu Chang slightly shook his head, displaying an attitude of "That’s just how my inspiration is, and if you can’t do it, that’s your problem."

"Once your level in mysticism reaches mine, you’ll understand whether inspiration can achieve this. Until then, I can’t explain much to a mysticism practitioner like you."

Raventon pressed his lips hard, forcing a smile on his face, "Alright, you win."

Before he met Wu Chang, he was considered a notable figure in the extraordinary circles of Stilan.

Since knowing Wu Chang, he’s been mocked for his poor skills in mysticism more than once.

Quite frustrating, and even more so since he couldn’t refute it.

Seeing Raventon’s silence, Wu Chang continued,

"Before the miner thief died, he used communication magic to contact his accomplices, who are likely also miner thieves. They might have infiltrated the charter movement or are even part of it."

"The guys from the Steam Council probably can’t imagine that I’ve detected their presence through inspiration, and they must believe they’ve temporarily cut all clues."

"To delay the time when you discover them, they will likely swiftly track down the miner thief’s accomplices, and it wouldn’t be surprising if their target is also the charter movement."

"Perhaps we and the people from the Steam Council will meet soon."

Meanwhile, in the underground of Saint George’s Cathedral, Olivia was listening to Julie report the truth about the Pine Tree Coal Mine explosion case.

After hearing Julie’s description and personally confirming the internal and external photographs of the extraordinary refining machine and its special inlet, Olivia slightly lowered her head, lost in thought.

"I didn’t expect that someone could develop the extraordinary steam engine to such an extent, using flesh and blood to increase the output of the extraordinary steam engine."

"No wonder I heard from the Trade Commission, over the past year or more, a large number of inexplicable coal essence has suddenly appeared in Stilan and the international market. The source was indeed the Pine Tree Coal Mine."

Olivia raised her head, looking excitedly at Julie, and said,

"You just said that the extraordinary steam engine was still operational not long ago, meaning its missing core is likely in the hands of my Knight Order Leader, right?"

Olivia was enthusiastic, but when she lifted her head, she found Julie looking at her with a complicated gaze.

The excitement on her face waned, and she said helplessly,

"If you have anything you want to ask, go ahead and ask."

Since Olivia said so, Julie took the opportunity to ask,

"Your Majesty, the extraordinary steam engine can increase its operational efficiency by absorbing flesh and blood. This isn’t a coincidence, right?"

Feeling like something secret had been discovered, Olivia said somewhat guiltily, "Now that no one else is around, just call me Olivia."

Julie didn’t speak, just quietly looking at Olivia.

Olivia showed an innocent expression, saying,

"Alright, I admit, during the research of the extraordinary steam engine, we did discover this route."

"After all, much of the knowledge involved in the extraordinary steam engine was brought from the Divine Gift Library when the Secret Magic Knight Order broke into the headquarters of the Peace Church back then."

"Knowledge from the Evil God, related to sacrifice, makes sense. It’s just that the route was too difficult and risked displeasing the Lord, so we didn’t pursue it further."

Hearing Olivia’s explanation, Julie’s complexion improved slightly, but the worry in her eyes did not dissipate.

She softly questioned,

"If all development is founded on flesh and blood, Olivia, can what we’re doing truly change the world for the better?"

Olivia grasped Julie’s hand, saying without hesitation,

"Of course! I have never doubted our choice."

"The same thing, in the hands of different people, can have different effects. Like gunpowder, it can be used for war, to harvest life, or as a tool for mining, to develop industry."

"In the hands of those unqualified individuals, the extraordinary steam engine can only satisfy their private interests, but it won’t be so in our hands."

Olivia moved beside Julie, speaking softly,

"I still remember our agreement back then. You help me gain freedom, and I’ll help you create a world where everyone can live in peace."

"Stilan’s current position at the pinnacle of the world is something we’ve built together, and I will certainly safeguard my promise. All we are experiencing now is merely the darkness before dawn."

Julie leaned against Olivia, recalling the scene she saw earlier of Erin rescuing people in the slums and said,

"I just think, maybe it doesn’t have to be so perfect."

Olivia said, "You don’t need to worry. Everything will turn out fine."

To dispel Julie’s doubts, Olivia added,

"That Knight Order Leader, Sean, is more outstanding than I thought, and he hasn’t let down your expectations of him."

"In this investigation of the Pine Tree Coal Mine explosion case, he’s done a great job. You tell him that, barring any surprises tomorrow night, at the inauguration banquet of the acting prime minister, I will announce the rebuilding of the Secret Magic Knight Order and his position."

"The prime minister’s recent assassination makes it unsuitable to have continuous banquets. His actions are too swift, so it has to be somewhat hasty. Hopefully, he won’t mind sharing this important moment with others."
