Chapter 2227: Chapter 298: Who Are You? (Double Chapter)

Teacher Mikaela really is as efficient as ever... Qiao Sang sighed inwardly and said:

"Okay, wait a bit."

She packed her things, woke Yaobao and the others, finished breakfast, and handed in the room card.

When everything was done, Pen Jiami’s eyes glowed blue.

After three teleportations, Qiao Sang arrived at a villa covered in plants.

The sunlight overhead was especially dazzling, yet there wasn’t any particularly scorching heat around her.

"Qingqing?"

Shalala looked at the surrounding Oasis, her eyes lighting up as she called out.

"Pengpeng." Pen Jiami nodded slightly.

"Qingqing!"

Shalala happily floated toward the inside of the villa.

Not easy at all, to actually find such a place in Tang Country in such a short time... Qiao Sang couldn’t help feeling a surge of admiration for Teacher Mikaela and walked inside with Yaobao and the others.

As soon as she entered, it felt like the depths of a tropical rainforest. Plants clung to the walls and blended perfectly with the surroundings, occasionally a small Bug-Type Pet crawled past. The ceiling was adorned with cascading pothos, and every corner exuded a rich, natural aura.

Fresh air washed over her, carrying the mixed scent of earth and greenery.

If she didn’t know beforehand that this place was in Tang Country, Qiao Sang absolutely wouldn’t have associated this villa with Tang Country’s geography.

The second floor of the house had a balcony, and stepping out onto it, one could see the entire yard.

Looking up from below, Qiao Sang could vaguely see a few figures passing by through the second-floor balcony.

She froze for a moment, then led Yaobao and the others into the villa’s main hall.

In the hall, several Pet Beasts were carrying big bags and parcels out, and a few others were cleaning.

Huh? Why are there so many Pet Beasts? Teacher Mikaela wouldn’t have hired this many Pet Beasts to manage the villa, right... No, that’s not it, they look like they’re moving things, and she was about to take part in the Master-Level Challenge. The teacher shouldn’t randomly hire some Pet Beasts to work here. After all, in big competitions like this, there have been cases of people bribing opponents’ family members to get intel... Looking at the scene in the living room, a string of thoughts flashed uncontrollably through Qiao Sang’s mind.

"Pengpeng."

As she was thinking, Pen Jiami called out, indicating that Mikaela was on the second floor and she could go up to find her.

Qiao Sang replied "Okay" and went up to the second floor.

Out of habit, she swept her gaze around and found that almost every room still had a few Pet Beasts packing up; the figures she had seen earlier from the second-floor balcony were these Pet Beasts.

Qiao Sang pricked up her ears and followed the sounds from one of the rooms to a room at the end of the corridor.

Before she could knock, Teacher Mikaela’s voice came from inside:

"Come in."

Qiao Sang pushed the door open and entered, finding Teacher Mikaela sitting at the desk, flipping through something with one hand while operating her phone with the other, looking very busy.

"What are you doing?"

"Transferring money."

"Transferring money?" Qiao Sang’s tone was puzzled.

"This used to be a group-rented villa. I had all 46 Pet Beasts living here move out, so I’m transferring money to them one by one," Mikaela explained.

No wonder there were so many Pet Beasts... Qiao Sang sounded slightly shocked, "You had 46 Pet Beasts all move out? How did they agree?"

"I gave them three times the money and they agreed," Mikaela said calmly.

"Momo."

Dragon King suddenly let out a call from the sofa, indicating that a few little ones hadn’t agreed at first, but once it stepped in, they agreed.

Qiao Sang thought back to the Pet Beasts she had just seen and figured they were all Low and Middle Level Pet Beasts, at most High Level Pet Beasts. With an Emperor Level Pet Beast like you stepping out, you don’t even have to do anything—just leak a bit of your aura and of course they’d agree.

"Why’d you find a group-rented villa?" Qiao Sang asked. "Talking to that many Pet Beasts and getting them all to move out is such a hassle."

While making transfers, Mikaela said, "I’ve already asked a lot of agents. There are basically no villas suitable for Shalala’s living conditions, and even if there are, they’re someone else’s residence."

"It’s not that we can’t buy, but counting the competition period, we’ll only be staying here for at most a few months. Buying a residence outright isn’t cost-effective."

"The area around here is all Oasis, and the Pet Beasts living here are basically here for fun, short-term rentals, so renting this place is the most suitable and convenient."

"Although it’s a bit far from the Master-Level Challenge venue, it’s very private. Within a thousand miles this is the only residence. You can train without holding back, and if anyone—person or Pet Beast—comes over, you’ll notice right away."
