Chapter 56: Elemental Dissonance

Grand Elder Shen He stood beside Sunny, his ancient, scarred hands gripping the obsidian railing so tightly his knuckles were white.

"The necrotic residue explicitly confirms our fears, Supreme Patriarch," Shen He murmured, his voice heavy with the crushing weight of impending failure. He did not dare look directly at Sunny.

"The flesh is entirely consumed. The elemental dissonance is absolute. Earth shatters under the corruption of Fire."

The dozen elite breeders gathered in the chamber exchanged terrified, despairing glances. They explicitly recognized that time was running out. The Carrion-Locust swarm was marching steadily toward the staging camp, and their only theoretical siege-weapon was currently a biological impossibility.

They subtly shifted their gazes toward the Young Master, expecting the terrifying teenager to unleash his Ghoul Ape upon them as punishment for their collective failure.

Sunny remained perfectly statuesque. His pale face was a chilling mask of absolute, aristocratic apathy. His glowing crimson eyes bored holes into the smoldering wreckage of the petri-dish.

Internally, his civilian mind was sweating bullets. He explicitly knew why the marrow exploded. He knew it before Shen He even ordered the Cinder crushed. The Supreme Merge System’s hidden blue data frame had explicitly warned him that attempting to fuse the Fire-catalyst without first buffering the host’s biology would result in catastrophic core collapse.

Sunny had intentionally allowed the Grand Elder’s best breeders to fail. It was a terrifying, high-stakes gamble to explicitly establish his own undeniable, god-like supremacy over their archaic methods. He needed them to hit rock bottom before he offered the lifeline.

"Your understanding of flesh is shallow, Elder," Sunny finally rasped, his voice a flat, emotionless void that dropped the ambient temperature of the laboratory to a freezing chill. "You treat the vessel as a static object. You pour boiling magma into a dry clay pot and act surprised when it shatters."

Shen He flinched, instinctively bowing his head deeper. "We... we do not possess your abyssal insight, Supreme One. We can only rely on the foundational laws of elemental hierarchy."

"The laws are explicitly written by cowards," Sunny stated coldly.

He slowly raised a pale finger and pointed at the massive, golden-hued Abyssal Siege-Toad squatting in the primary holding cell. The beast was glaring back at them with pure, concentrated malice, a massive chunk of its flesh explicitly missing from its hindquarter where the breeders had excised the marrow sample.

"The Toad’s internal matrix is too rigid," Sunny commanded, translating the System’s logic into terrifying demonic terminology. "You must introduce a localized, biological shock-absorber before you ignite the core. A medium that can explicitly distribute the kinetic trauma of the Fire-Qi throughout the Earth-vessel without shattering the marrow."

Shen He frowned, his ancient mind racing desperately to comprehend the profound, unorthodox theory. "A biological shock-absorber? Supreme Patriarch, no Earth-attribute material possesses such elasticity under extreme heat."

"I did not request dirt, Elder," Sunny whispered, his tone dripping with lethal arrogance. "I demanded a Kinetic Slime Core."

The entire laboratory went dead silent.

The elite breeders stared at the Young Master in absolute, paralyzed bewilderment. A Kinetic Slime? Those were pathetic, Tier 2 anomalies found rotting in the sect’s sewage runoffs. They were explicitly considered garbage by the Vanguard, possessing zero offensive capabilities and a core composed entirely of bouncy, gelatinous Qi.

"A... a Slime Core, Supreme One?" Shen He stammered, explicitly horrified by the sheer absurdity of the command. To fuse a pathetic sewer-anomaly with a heavily armored siege-beast violated every tenet of the Demonic Path’s obsession with apex lethality. "But... the Slime’s core is inherently weak. It will dilute the Toad’s kinetic force!"

Sunny slowly turned his glowing crimson eyes to lock directly onto the Grand Elder. He explicitly narrowed his eyes by a fraction of an inch, allowing the heavy, suffocating pressure of his innate villainous aura to wash over the ancient cultivator.

"Do you explicitly desire to continue exploding pieces of flesh while the swarm devours the camp?" Sunny hissed softly, projecting an aura of bottomless, calculated evil. "Or will you fetch the Slime?"

Shen He’s knees buckled. He practically threw himself onto the obsidian floor, shivering violently. "I am a blind insect! Forgive my insolence! I will summon the core immediately!"

The Grand Elder frantically gestured to his terrified subordinates. Within minutes, a heavy glass jar containing a pulsating, semi-translucent green core was rushed into the laboratory.

Sunny maintained his chilling silence. He explicitly did not intend to explain the fusion process. He wanted them to perform the grunt work while he supervised, ensuring he didn’t accidentally expose his lack of physical alchemy skills.

"Pulverize the Slime Core," Sunny commanded the trembling lead breeder. "Combine the gelatinous essence directly with the Yin-Rot Cinder. Force the corruption to bind with the elasticity before introducing it to the marrow."

The breeder, sweating profusely, followed the exact instructions. He carefully mashed the green Slime core into the glowing, volatile black sludge of the crushed Cinder.

The reaction in the mortar was immediate. The violent, erratic Fire-Qi of the Cinder was explicitly absorbed by the gelatinous essence of the Slime. The resulting sludge was no longer a volatile, explosive powder; it was a thick, viscous, glowing red paste that pulsed with a suppressed, heavy rhythm.

"Now," Sunny rasped. "Introduce the Earth-catalyst."

The breeder, his hands shaking, added the new paste to a fresh chunk of the Siege-Toad’s dark-marrow.

The entire laboratory held its collective breath.

Through the cracked spirit-glass, they watched the reaction.

The glowing red paste invaded the marrow. The dull yellow mass expanded rapidly, turning a violent, glowing red. The marrow pulsed erratically, swelling to twice its size.

Shen He closed his eyes, explicitly bracing for another violent detonation.

However, the explosion never came.

Instead of shattering, the marrow explicitly rippled. The Kinetic Slime essence had successfully bonded with the Earth-attribute flesh, allowing it to stretch and absorb the catastrophic internal pressure of the corrupted Fire-Qi.

The mass stabilized, glowing with a deep, furious crimson light, completely infused with the explosive power of the Cinder but perfectly contained by the newly acquired elasticity.

The lead breeder gasped, falling to his knees in pure shock. "It... it holds! The elemental dissonance is completely bypassed! The flesh has assimilated the corruption without fracturing!"

The elite breeders erupted into frantic, terrified murmurs, explicitly recognizing that the teenage monster standing above them had just casually rewritten the foundational laws of flesh-mending. They looked at Sunny with a mixture of profound awe and absolute, paralyzing terror.

"Your... your genius is a fathomless abyss, Supreme Patriarch!" Shen He wept, pressing his face against the obsidian railing. "You have achieved the impossible!"

"..."

Sunny maintained his cold, apathetic stare. He explicitly ignored their groveling, his civilian heart hammering a frantic rhythm of sheer relief against his ribs. The System’s magic fusion logic actually functioned in the physical world. He had successfully bluffed his way through a Calamity-level alchemy crisis.

"Cease your pathetic weeping," Sunny commanded softly, turning his attention back to the massive Abyssal Siege-Toad squatted in the main cell.

"We are not here to bake meat in glass jars," Sunny whispered, pointing his pale finger at the furious, golden behemoth. "We must explicitly force the ascension of the living vessel."

Shen He swallowed hard, scrambling to his feet. Performing a successful reaction in a petri-dish was one thing; forcing the violent mutation upon a living, Tier 3 beast was entirely different.

"Prepare the primary containment vat," Shen He commanded his breeders, his voice regaining a fraction of its authority.

A massive, heavy-iron cauldron was dragged into the center of the containment cell. The Toad watched with intense, murderous suspicion as the breeders hastily filled the vat with boiling, highly corrosive dark-marrow, dumping crates of pulverized Yin-Rot Cinders and crushed Kinetic Slime Cores directly into the boiling liquid. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

The resulting concoction was a thick, frothing, violently glowing crimson sludge that radiated an agonizing, suffocating heat. The stench of ozone and burning sulfur flooded the laboratory, causing the breeders’ eyes to water despite their protective wards.

Sunny stared down at the terrifying brew. The System’s blueprint explicitly required the Toad to be entirely submerged in this liquid magma.

"Force the entity into the crucible," Sunny ordered.
