Basketball Legend: When Pride Still Matters

As the catalyst for the Bucks’ massive reshuffle, Yu Fei’s Asian tour was nearing its end.

For the NBA, China remains a market to be developed; currently, soccer is the most popular sport in China. The national team made it to the World Cup, and although they didn’t score any goals, this marked the beginning of a great dream.

People believed this was just the beginning.

Yu Fei could only deal with routine matters, participate in events, meet fans, and unlike his trip to Korea, he was extra cautious in China, rarely doing anything unnecessary. Occasionally, he was very friendly when fans outside the hotel asked for autographs, leaving behind many stories about how "humble he was for an American". Additionally, his recent defense of Yao Ming had rapidly increased his popularity in China.

With these foundation, once Yao Ming secured his footing in the NBA, the Chinese market would be completely opened up, and that would be when Yu Fei’s popularity in China would rise sharply.

In early August, Yu Fei boarded the plane back to the United States.

The Asian tour had ended, but this was just the first step of Reebok’s Asian plan; Yu Fei’s tour had boosted the sales of "The Chosen One" in the Asian market, making Reebok’s executives realize Yu Fei indeed had an extraordinary popularity in Asia.

This year was just the beginning.

On the plane, Assistant Alex Clark said, "Ji Hyo sent you a message; she wants to know if she can come to the United States to see you."

"Alex, you can handle such minor things, no need to tell me," Yu Fei said, looking out the window, distractedly.

Lawson teased, "How heartless, Frye!"

"Heartless? I am being considerate and loyal. With America being so dangerous, what if she unfortunately boarded a plane that was hijacked? I am thinking about her well-being."

"Sure, you’ve thought it through so well."

Yu Fei then asked, "Have we found the training team for after we land? Where is the training venue?"

"Reebok’s people have arranged it."

"Reebok again?"

What Yu Fei really wanted to say was, "It’s never-ending, isn’t it?"

Clark said, "It was Quint’s idea. "The Chosen One" second generation is about to be launched; we will have intensive training in Los Angeles this time, and in our spare time, they will arrange for us to shoot commercials."

"Will AI come?" Yu Fei asked.

Clark said with an odd expression, "Hmm... He can’t make it."

"Why not?"

"He ran into some trouble."

"It’s not domestic violence with his wife and then getting arrested, is it?"

"BINGO!"
