Chapter 1744: Chapter 1745: Suspicion and Astonishment

Luh Kai and his wife sat down. He discussed business matters with Ning Ge, while Cheng Su talked parenting tips with Xie Minyi.

She looked at Luh Wei and asked when the child’s birthday was.

"He was born on the second of August, I was in pain all day and night, it was quite a suffering!" Xie Minyi said.

Cheng Suxin’s heart jumped again; even the date matched, Luh Wei’s birthday was on this day.

She reached out, gently holding little Luh Wei’s hand, constantly asking in her heart, Luh Wei, is it you? Is it you?

It shouldn’t be, right? The age doesn’t seem to match, but how old is Luh Wei anyway? When she transmigrated, she was thirty, how old was Luh Wei? She forgot, and it seemed she didn’t really know how old he was.

The more bewildered Cheng Su became, the more uneasy she felt inside.

Concerning Luh Wei’s information, she only now realized she didn’t know everything. The two had been close, never needing to check each other’s backgrounds.

But now Cheng Su regretted it; she should have asked Luh Wei carefully back then, is he younger than she is?

What age was he when his parents passed away?

Afraid of making him upset at the time, she didn’t ask too detailed, Cheng Su pressed her lips and casually asked Xie Minyi if they had any travel plans.

"Family trip? We’ve thought about it, but the child is too young now, and his dad is busy with some business, very busy. We’ll wait until he’s older," Xie Minyi replied with a smile.

Cheng Su said, "If there’s no time, it’s better not to go. It’s inconvenient to travel with a small child. I’d suggest waiting until he’s in middle or high school, by then he can take care of himself!"

"You’re right, but that’s too far in the future!" Xie Minyi laughed, feeling Cheng Su was a bit strange, but couldn’t pinpoint what was odd.

It seemed like she was quite nervous about their son Luh Wei!

"Auntie hopes you grow up healthily and happily, under the care of your parents!" Cheng Su touched little Luh Wei’s face, sincerely wishing.

If he is indeed the future Luh Wei, then hopefully her presence will change some trajectories, he won’t encounter the misfortunes of his past life, with both parents deceased.

...

After Luh Kai and his family left, Cheng Su sat down, looking thoughtful and uneasy, her concern seemed heavier than before they arrived.

Ning Ge asked, "Is there something wrong with the child?"

Cheng Su exclaimed briefly, then shook her head, "Nothing!"

"You’re lying!" Ning Ge looked at her, saying, "When Luh Kai mentioned the child’s name just now, your expression obviously changed, your worry was written all over your face."

Was it that obvious?

Cheng Su touched her own face, dismissively said, "Really nothing, it’s just when they mentioned the child’s name, I thought of a friend of mine. Coincidentally, my friend looks quite similar to Luh Kai, I even mistook him back then."

Though knowing it was a brush-off, Luh Kai oddly felt what she said was true, it was truly baffling!

Ning Ge didn’t press further, after a while he said, "If you need help, just let me know!"

Cheng Su smiled and nodded.

After dinner, it was completely dark, Ning Ge sent the mother and son back to the compound, then chatted at the gate for a while before leaving.

Cheng Su watched him leave, then turned back to go inside. Suddenly, as if sensing something, she stopped, turned her head.

The alley was empty, only a flickering orange streetlight, and a stray cat ran by, meowing.

Cheng Su tilted her head thinking, somewhat doubtful, was it an illusion?

"Let’s go, heading home." Cheng Su patted her son’s back, completely unaware that Qi Xiaoqi was staring fixedly in a certain direction.
