Chapter 419: Chapter 419: Kicked Out of the House

"Oh, time flies. It’s almost six o’clock." Gu Jiaojiao glanced at her watch.

Only then did she realize it was already getting dark.

"Sorry about that. We were so caught up in our conversation that we completely forgot it was getting dark."

"Heh, as long as you had a good chat, that’s all that matters. I was a little worried you two might get into a fight downstairs!" Su Shuochi said, teasing.

Of course, he hadn’t noticed that Han Meizhen and her daughter were no longer in the living room. His eyes were only for Gu Jiaojiao; he truly paid no mind to anyone else.

Hearing what their great-uncle said, all the younger members of the Han family turned to look at Gu Jiaojiao in unison.

’A fight? What’s a little fight? Our great-aunt already slapped someone, okay?’

Being stared at so intently by so many pairs of eyes, even with her thick skin, Gu Jiaojiao’s face instantly turned bright red.

She thought back to the scene in the living room. She didn’t regret it. If it happened again, she would still hit that mother and daughter.

Gu Jiaojiao remained silent. ’I’m not telling my husband about this.’

"Oh, Jiaojiao, today is the liveliest day our family has had in a while. Why don’t you two stay for dinner?"

Old Sir Han asked with a cheerful laugh. They had all come downstairs by now.

Gu Jiaojiao looked up and gave Mr. Han and the others a small smile. "I’m sorry, but I’ve already made plans with my grandpa and parents to watch the moon with them tonight."

"Alright then. This old man won’t insist on keeping you. Be careful on the road."

Gu Jiaojiao nodded quickly and said obediently, "Don’t worry, Mr. Han. We’ll be careful. We can get in touch by phone if anything comes up."

The Han family reluctantly saw them off to the courtyard gate. "Goodbye, Great-uncle, Great-aunt."

Only after Gu Jiaojiao’s car was far in the distance did the Han family return to the living room. Mr. Han asked, "Where are Mei Zhen and Linlin?"

"Grandpa~! You have to stand up for us~!" Xu Lin wailed, her face swollen like a pig’s head.

Old Sir Han, his two sons, and Father Xu were all dumbfounded. ’What is going on?’ They had just been secretly congratulating themselves!

"Grandpa, you have to get justice for me~! That vixen slapped me more than a dozen times, and she hit me so hard..."

The moment Mr. Han heard Xu Lin call Gu Jiaojiao a vixen, he erupted in anger and cut off her whining.

He roared, "Where are your manners? You deserved to be hit! And you still have the nerve to cry? Get the hell back to the Xu Family right now, and don’t ever come to our house again."

"Grandpa~! You won’t even listen to me explain what happened, how things ended up like this?" Xu Lin said between sobs, her face stained with tears.

Old Sir Han, exasperated by his granddaughter’s crying, snorted coldly. "Hmph!"

"What is there to explain? This old man can guess what happened. Do I need you to stand here whining about it? 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

"You’ve been completely spoiled by your parents! You’re arrogant, willful, and have no respect for your elders. And you still have the nerve to complain? Get out!"

Seeing his grandfather’s rage, the Han family’s eight-year-old grandson added fuel to the fire. "Grandpa, Cousin Linlin said Great-aunt was your little mistress. That’s why Great-aunt hit her."

CRASH. As soon as his young grandson finished speaking, Old Sir Han was so enraged that he smashed a teapot.

When Father Xu heard his young nephew’s words, his heart sank. ’It’s over,’ he thought. ’No one can save this foolish daughter now.’

Hearing this, Han Chenyu furiously berated her, "Linlin, you are truly shameless! Pack your things and get the hell home with your mother."

Han the Third normally focused entirely on his research and never meddled in family affairs, but hearing what his young son said, even he couldn’t help but add a few words of reprimand.

"Brother-in-law, this daughter of yours has been spoiled rotten by you and my sister since she was a child. She’s manipulative, domineering, uses her connections to bully others, and is completely unreasonable.

"Even though she’s our own niece, she had the audacity to insult our aunt.

"I honestly can’t stand her anymore. She’s getting more and more out of line. You need to take them home right away before you give Dad a stroke from the anger."

Seeing her father in such a rage, Han Meizhen immediately dropped to her knees in front of him, pleading with tear-filled eyes.

"Dad~! I’ve cherished all the years of love you’ve shown me. Please don’t be so cold to your daughter. I’ll discipline Linlin properly when we get home, I promise. Please, just forgive her this one time. Dad, I know I was wrong. Please don’t make us leave~!"

Old Sir Han’s face was cold. "Enough. Stop crying. Mei Zhen, just take Linlin and leave the Han family."

Han Meizhen knew that if her father kicked her out this time, she would lose all her standing with the Xu family.

She pleaded tearfully, "Big Brother, Old Three, please help me talk to Dad. Don’t make us go home. I know I was wrong now."

Seeing her mother humbling herself so much, Xu Lin also knelt before her grandfather. She didn’t dare to argue any further, but in her heart, her hatred for Gu Jiaojiao only grew stronger.

She cried out and lunged forward, grabbing her grandfather’s leg. "Grandpa, please don’t kick me out! I’ll never leave you~!"

Old Sir Han frowned and kicked her away, his tone severe. "Mei Zhen, think about it yourself. How did you two treat my benefactor?

"Now that my benefactor has hit you, you have the gall to hope that I’ll forgive you?

"You’ve completely disgraced the Han family! And you still want to shamelessly hang around? Are you trying to kill me with anger?"

"Dad, please don’t be angry. I’ll take them away right now," Father Xu said sincerely, also kneeling before Mr. Han.

Old Sir Han roared, "It’s not that this old man is disregarding our family ties! It’s that your wife and daughter are completely out of control! They’ve brought nothing but shame to the Han family’s name."

Seeing this, Father Xu quickly pulled his whining daughter and his heartbroken, sobbing wife away and left.

The rest of the Han family watched with cold detachment. No one dared to say a word to stop them from leaving. Han Jinglin curled his lip in disdain. "Serves them right."

Gu Jiaojiao, oblivious to the drama at the Han residence, was proudly boasting to Su Shuochi. "I recruited another mechanical engineering expert for you."

"My wife is amazing," Su Shuochi chimed in with a grin. "With you on the case, I’m confident our team will be full of elites."

The couple chatted and laughed, and soon they arrived at the gate to the Gu Family’s courtyard. Grandpa Gu and Mr. Gu were already there, craning their necks in anticipation.

Gu Jiaojiao opened the car door, got out, and linked her arms through each of theirs. "Grandpa, Dad, why are you two standing out here at the gate?"

"We came out here specially to wait for you! Your mom and second brother are busy in the kitchen, and we’d only be in the way, so we could only wait for you out here."

"Grandpa, it’s windy out here. You two should have just waited inside," Gu Jiaojiao said, deeply touched.

Su Shuochi parked the car, opened the trunk, and took out a deluxe box of mooncakes, two bottles of Maotai, and several kinds of fruit.

"Shuo Ci, Jiaojiao, just having you here makes this old grandpa happy. What’s all this with so many gifts?"

Though Grandpa Gu was being polite, his wrinkled face had already broken into a wide, beaming smile.

"Heh, Grandpa, Dad, this is just a little something from Shu Ci. He had a hard time getting his hands on it, so please, just accept it."

"Haha, well, since Jiaojiao put it that way, we’ll happily accept," Mr. Gu said, reaching down to pick up the gift box.

Grandpa Gu also picked up a bottle of liquor in one hand and headed toward the house with a cheerful laugh.
