Chapter 405: Chapter 405: Nuwa Was Slacking Off When Molding Humans
Gu Jiaojiao made it home in half an hour. Hearing the sound of her motorcycle, Su Shuochi bolted out of the courtyard. He had been up all night drawing.
"Honey, you’re back so early?" Su Shuochi asked as he latched the courtyard gate.
"Hmph. Are you implying I came back too early and disturbed your beauty sleep?" Gu Jiaojiao asked with a playful pout.
In reality, she knew he was just worried about her. After parking the motorcycle, she headed straight into the house. She hadn’t noticed any spies tailing her on the way back.
"Of course not! How could I possibly sleep when you’re not home?" Su Shuochi followed behind her, looking pitiful.
He scanned the area outside their courtyard. Seeing no one suspicious, he went inside and bolted the door, relieved.
Gu Jiaojiao wanted to demand why he hadn’t slept, but the words changed as they left her lips. "Are you trying to make me worry on purpose?"
"Don’t worry, honey. Your man is in great shape. Staying up for one night is no big deal. I’ll go make you breakfast."
"No, forget it. Let’s go into the space and sleep for an hour. That’s equivalent to more than two hours out here. We can eat the eight-treasure porridge from the space when we wake up."
"Okay!" Su Shuochi was visibly excited. ’She was gone all night, and she missed me too!’ All he wanted was to hold his wife.
But Gu Jiaojiao just wanted him to use the time to get an hour of sleep, so after letting him soak in the Spiritual Spring for a while, she called him to bed.
"Coming~" Su Shuochi was beside himself with joy, moving faster than ever before.
The moment he got into bed, Gu Jiaojiao quickly hit his sleep acupoint, causing him to fall asleep instantly.
When Gu Jiaojiao woke up again, it was already seven o’clock. The man beside her was still sound asleep. She grumbled to herself, ’So this is what you call "not needing to sleep"!’
But she didn’t wake him. Instead, she used her will to move him out of the space and onto the bed in their room, letting him continue to sleep.
The change in location made Su Shuochi’s eyes snap open. Seeing his wife’s stunning face, his heart gave a violent lurch. "Morning, honey~"
"Morning my a—" Before Gu Jiaojiao could finish her curse, she was pulled into a powerful embrace, her words swallowed by a passionate kiss.
The man greedily devoured her breath, forcefully exploring every corner...
Gu Jiaojiao made it to her lecture just in the nick of time. She had barely sat down when the professor walked in. "Good morning, class."
"Good morning, Professor," the students of Class 33 replied in unison.
"Today, I will be lecturing on the subject of human anatomy..."
Gu Jiaojiao had originally planned to sleep through class, but the professor’s lecture was so witty and humorous that she found herself listening quite attentively.
It was a good thing she hadn’t slept, because Xu Bo had been watching her the entire class. He found it strange that she hadn’t gone to the hospital yesterday.
She had clearly said she wouldn’t be participating in the assessment, wanting instead to use her master’s connections to get a spot as an observer at the hospital.
But he hadn’t seen her there at all, from start to finish. Even after class ended, Xu Bo was still staring at her.
Once the professor left, the students crowded around Xu Bo again, bombarding him with questions. "Class President, did you really see Divine Doctor Su Gu yesterday?"
"I did," Xu Bo said with a sigh. "I always thought Divine Doctor Su Gu would be an old man, or at the very least, a middle-aged one."
"Don’t tell me Divine Doctor Su Gu is an old lady?" a quick-witted student immediately grasped the implication.
"Nah! She’s not an old lady, either. To be precise... I’d say the Divine Doctor looks to be in her thirties, but her medical skills are even more incredible than Professor Xia’s."
Whenever Xu Bo spoke of Divine Doctor Su Gu, the look of utter adoration on his face was impossible to miss.
"For real? In her thirties and already better than Professor Xia? But Professor Xia has a Ph.D. from overseas!"
"Does that even need to be said? Divine Doctor Su Gu must have a Ph.D. from overseas, too," a top student said with immense envy.
"Divine Doctor Su Gu must have studied abroad. I could tell she’s very fashionable," Xu Bo readily agreed.
"Class President, how fashionable was she? Can you give us some details?" a girl asked curiously.
"Her white crewneck top was simple, without much decoration, but it perfectly showcased Divine Doctor Su Gu’s personal style and taste."
Xu Bo was too embarrassed to tell his classmates that Divine Doctor Su Gu’s pants clung tightly to her long legs, and that she looked absolutely stunning.
"A white crewneck... I can’t really picture how that’s so fashionable," that same girl muttered to herself.
"Ha! If you can’t picture it, that’s normal. But if our Class President says it’s fashionable, then it’s definitely fashionable!" one of Xu Bo’s lackeys declared loudly.
"That’s right! If our Class President says she was fashionable, then she was. I’m so bummed I didn’t stake out the hospital entrance to catch a glimpse of the Divine Doctor in person."
"I regret it too! I thought the Divine Doctor was some old guy, so I didn’t even bother going to the hospital for a look."
"I don’t care much about medical skills, but I’m super interested in fashion! Ah! I’m so disappointed I missed it."
Gu Jiaojiao: ...
’I was just wearing a plain white T-shirt and a pair of jeans. How is that fashionable?’
"Hah, you all can stop regretting it. Don’t think you could’ve seen the Divine Doctor just by showing up at the hospital entrance. That would’ve been impossible."
While talking to his classmates, Xu Bo kept glancing over at Gu Jiaojiao, expecting her to come up and ask something.
He knew, after all, that Gu Jiaojiao was Divine Doctor Su Gu’s lead disciple. But she never came over to ask him anything.
His classmates, however, asked eagerly, "Why wouldn’t you see the Divine Doctor even if you were at the hospital entrance?"
"Don’t tell me the Divine Doctor didn’t use the main entrance? Did she fly in?"
Xu Bo was debating whether he should tell his classmates about the assassination attempt at the hospital, but just then, the class bell rang.
By the time the next class was over, they had moved on to other questions. The students were still clustered around Xu Bo even as it was time for lunch.
When it was time for lunch, Han Jingyi and Xiao Rui were already waiting outside Gu Jiaojiao’s classroom.
Although none of their classmates had gone to observe yesterday’s surgery, some students from the class next door had.
By the time class was out, they had already heard a hundred different versions of the story, all claiming their "Great-Aunt" was in her thirties.
Their "Great-Aunt" was clearly only eighteen! Just as they were about to go and argue the point with their classmates,
they overheard the others gushing about how fashionable Divine Doctor Su Gu was, and how cool and impressive her bearing was.
This made Han Jingyi and Xiao Rui feel a new wave of regret. If only they had insisted on waiting longer yesterday.
Then they could have witnessed this other side of their "Great-Aunt’s" persona. Just hearing about it sounded amazing.
Just as they were lost in thought, a clear, pleasant voice broke through. "Han Jingyi, Xiao Rui, you’re here so soon."
"Jiaojiao, we came specifically to wait for you." The two of them, Han Jingyi and Xiao Rui, flanked her on either side, escorting their "Great-Aunt" toward the cafeteria.
As they neared the cafeteria entrance, Jiang Ruyan’s sarcastic voice cut through the air.
"Well, well, I was wondering who it was. Little nephew of the Xiao Family, what are you doing trailing after a married woman?"
Gu Jiaojiao’s anger flared. "Heh, I bet not everyone here knows about this particular student.
She relies on sugar daddies to afford those gaudy clothes, and yet she still has the nerve to go around looking down on other people.
When Nuwa was making people, she must have been slacking on the job to end up sculpting a brainless thing like you!"
