And that was what led to Jiang Ruyan hiring thugs to assault someone. Coincidentally, Fu Junyuan was with Su Shuochi, the man she had once been obsessed with.
However, Jiang Ruyan didn’t recognize Su Shuochi. She just saw a man sitting across from Fu Junyuan who looked a little like him.
’Rumor had it that Su Shuochi’s legs healed quickly. Well, I’ll just have to hire someone to cripple him again in the future.’

While instructing the young thugs, Jiang Ruyan mentioned that the man in sunglasses used to be a cripple and couldn’t fight.
She also had a backup plan. While she instructed the thugs to corner Fu Junyuan, she also called her cousin.
She told her cousin to bring his men to a specific intersection because a public brawl was taking place.
If the thugs didn’t manage to kill Fu Junyuan, her cousin could arrest him and throw him in jail.
Jiang Ruyan made a point of telling her cousin that her target was the man wearing sunglasses.
This was just an excuse to hide the fact that she was targeting Fu Junyuan. If anyone found out she’d hired people to kill him, Fu Mingyuan would never marry her.
Because of this scheme, both Su Shuochi and his wife misunderstood her, unaware of her true objective.
After returning home, Jiang Ruyan acted as if nothing had happened. She took a shower as usual, then lay on the sofa to wait for dinner.
In reality, she was a nervous wreck. She didn’t know if that future stepson of hers was dead or crippled—or, at the very least, locked up in a cell.
But she hadn’t given the thugs her name or phone number, so all she could do was wait for her cousin’s call.
Even in the dead of night, Jiang Ruyan still hadn’t received a call from her cousin. Tossing and turning, she was doomed to lie awake until dawn...

Geng Haoyi and Fu Junyuan went back and took the dozen or so youths to a roadside stall to eat and chat.
"Do you guys know what we do?" Fu Junyuan demanded angrily as soon as he sat down.
"We don’t know what you do, but we all agree that the guy in the wheelchair is incredible. That’s why we want to follow you guys," one of the bolder youths said in a low voice.
Geng Haoyi, also displeased, asked, "There were more than just the dozen of you who cornered us at noon. Where are the others?"
"Our boss and the others don’t want to join you. We decided to because you seem like good people," another youth said softly.
"Let’s put aside whether we’re good people or not. About today’s incident, do you know who ordered you to do it?"
"We don’t know, either. We just know our boss was paid off by some woman, and he told us to do it."
One of the youths said sheepishly, "We really don’t know her."
"If you don’t know her, then why did you corner us?" Geng Haoyi asked.
The youth replied in a low voice, "Because that woman gave our boss thirty yuan. She also told him that you three were good-looking and looked like you couldn’t fight."
Hearing this, Geng Haoyi and Fu Junyuan were so angry they nearly coughed up blood. ’Do we look like pushovers just because we’re good-looking?’
At this thought, Geng Haoyi laughed, his smile filled with scorn. "Do you really not know, or are you just refusing to tell the truth?"
"We really don’t know the woman. She was also eating in the main dining hall today. I don’t know if you saw her—a woman wearing a white dress."
"The woman in the white dress is Jiang Ruyan. Jun Yuan, you don’t recognize her..."
Before Geng Haoyi could finish, Fu Junyuan cut him off. "Her? I’d recognize her even if she were burned to ashes."
"She’s that vain woman who’s always wanted to marry my dad. It looks like she thinks I’m in her way and has decided to make a move against me."
Hearing this, Geng Haoyi was dumbfounded.
’Looks like I guessed wrong,’ he thought. ’Jiang Ruyan wasn’t trying to go after Su, she wanted to kill Fu Junyuan!’
Just as he was feeling relieved, he heard one of the youths say quietly, "I was standing right next to our boss then. The woman told us the guy in sunglasses used to be a cripple."
"Yeah, our boss said it too. Beat you two to death, then cripple the guy in the sunglasses."
"Sirs, we’re just hired hands. For the right price, we’ll break your legs."
Geng Haoyi frowned. ’Who is this Jiang Ruyan really targeting? Su or Fu Junyuan?’
Fu Junyuan’s thoughts were much simpler. He believed that vicious woman just wanted to kill him; everything else was just an excuse.
"What’s your boss’s name, and where is that woman now?"
"The woman left right after she spoke to him. I’m not sure where she is. We don’t know our boss’s name either. We’ve only known him for three days."
Hearing this, Geng Haoyi’s mood soured even more.
Fu Junyuan, however, was inwardly grateful to Su. ’If not for him today, I might have actually been beaten to death.’
He knew Jiang Ruyan had always wanted to go after him, but he never expected she’d actually dare to hire someone to kill him.
With this realization, he knew he had to tell his younger brother and sister to be careful of that vicious woman from now on.
Coincidentally, Su had asked him to train these youths. He decided to keep them around so they could one day testify against that vicious woman in front of his father.
So he said in a gentle tone, "Eat as much as you want. From now on, you’ll be with us."
"Thank you, Boss! You’ve finally agreed to take us in." The youths were ecstatic.
Fu Junyuan sighed and said, "Once you’re full, go on and head back. Wait here for Su tomorrow morning."
After hearing this, the youths all said their goodbyes and left.

Gu Jiaojiao slowly stirred awake in her room. Opening her hazy eyes, she was met with a handsome face, magnified up close. "You... Are you trying to scare me to death?!"
"Wifey’s awake. Are you still tired? Let me help you get up for breakfast, okay?" Su Shuochi asked, a look of utter satisfaction on his face.
"Weren’t we in the space?" Gu Jiaojiao glanced around. This was their room at the Gu Family house.
"We took a nap, soaked in the spring for a bit, and then came out. You were sleeping so soundly you didn’t wake up at all." Su Shuochi was smiling from ear to ear.
Gu Jiaojiao feigned anger. "You insatiable wolf! And now you’re blaming me?!"
"Hehe... I wouldn’t dare. I was just answering your question. I was worried Grandpa and the others might suddenly knock, so I brought us out early. Wifey, do you still want to sleep?"
Gu Jiaojiao raised her wrist to check the time. "It’s eight o’clock. No more sleeping. I need to get up."
Su Shuochi obediently hopped out of bed and started getting dressed, stealing glances at his wife every so often as if afraid she might accidentally fall off the bed.
When Gu Jiaojiao sat up, she felt no discomfort. Even though last night had been quite exhausting, that spiritual spring water was truly something else.
She glanced at her reflection in the mirror. ’Looks like soaking in the spiritual spring water can instantly rejuvenate you.’
’Getting baby-smooth skin isn’t just a dream, haha...’
