Chapter 328: Chapter 328: The Best of the Hoodlums

"Speak. Who sent you?" Su Shuochi said coldly. One look at their formation told him they were definitely acting on someone’s orders.

His gaze sent a chill rising from the depths of their souls.

It was like an ice blade stabbing straight into their marrow, the pain so sharp it made it hard to breathe.

’We feel like we’re going to suffocate before the fight even starts. How can we possibly win this? And there are still two other guys in his car.’

"What are you talking about? We just want to get our dignity back," one of the young men said, forcing himself to stay calm.

He was their leader, so he had to put up a brave front. No matter how scared he was, he refused to show any weakness.

’We’re the cream of the crop, guys who’ve fought our way up through the gutter. How could we be intimidated by his presence alone?’

Su Shuochi heard this and sneered, a hint of mockery playing on his lips.

"Since you’re not talking, let’s get to it. Are you coming one by one, or all at once?" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

After he spoke, he raised his head, his piercing gaze fixed on his opponents.

"You..." The young men instinctively took a step back.

Su Shuochi advanced a step, pressing forward. This fearless advance made the color drain from the young men’s faces.

Their eyes darted about nervously, but for the sake of the deposit they had already received, they ultimately decided to make their move.

’We all have iron pipes. We shouldn’t be afraid of this guy who’s bare-handed.’

The young men exchanged a look, then raised their iron pipes and rushed Su Shuochi in a swarm.

"Boss, let’s hurry over there," Fu Junyuan said excitedly. It had been a long time since he’d been in a good fight.

He had witnessed the ferocity of his boss, Geng Haoyi, but Geng Haoyi worshipped Su. He had to get a closer look at Su’s own might.

"It’s too late to jump in now," Geng Haoyi said. He knew how formidable Su Shuochi was. "Let’s each take a side and make sure none of these punks escape."

But Su Shuochi had been paralyzed for two years, after all, so Geng Haoyi was still very worried about him.

’I never dreamed these punks would just ignore the script. They attacked after only a few words, and it was a group assault.’

’All I did was park the car, and the fight already broke out!’

When Su Shuochi saw the young men swarm him with iron pipes, he showed no fear. He shot forward and plunged into the fray.

His power had never been weak. And though he had been injured and paralyzed for two years, he had drunk the spiritual spring water from Gu Jiaojiao’s pocket dimension and had even been cultivating his Inner Strength.

Now, he was even stronger than he had been in his prime. What was there to fear?

In an instant, a series of CRACKS echoed, followed by one bloodcurdling scream after another.

Fu Junyuan rubbed his eyes, staring in disbelief at Su Shuochi, who stood in the midst of the fallen thugs.

The ground all around him was littered with the wailing young men.

Even Su Shuochi himself was surprised. He had taken down all the pipe-wielding youths with just a few moves of his bare hands.

After a moment of surprise, he kicked the iron pipes on the ground into a pile. "Geng Haoyi, go get the wheelchair from the car. Fu Junyuan, come gather up these pipes."

After giving his orders, Su Shuochi crouched down to face the young men. "I’ll ask one more time: who sent you?"

The moaning youths on the ground didn’t answer. They just glared at Su Shuochi with resentful, vicious eyes.

"Fine, don’t talk. We’ll just report this to the police and let them handle you."

Su Shuochi was only bluffing. He had no intention of calling the police, especially since he’d won.

The leader of the group was the most seriously injured. He was sure his ribs were broken, and the pain was so intense he couldn’t even speak.

’If I could talk, I’d give up Jiang Ruyan in a heartbeat.’

’That damn woman said the guy in sunglasses used to be a cripple with no combat skills. You call this ’no combat skills’?’

He shot a look at his cronies, and the young men immediately started talking over each other.

"Boss, please spare us! This is all our fault. We were blind and didn’t recognize a great man like you."

"A woman gave us a thirty-yuan deposit. We don’t know who she is."

"She said you were a cripple with no fighting ability! That one blow from a pipe would be enough to leave you disabled again."

When Su Shuochi heard it was a woman, he thought back. He hadn’t offended any women in the Imperial City, except for the mother and daughter from the second branch of the Gu Family.

But he hadn’t gotten a good look at the pair yesterday and didn’t know what they looked like. Since these men claimed they didn’t know the woman, there was no need to press them.

Just then, Geng Haoyi wheeled the chair over. Su Shuochi settled into it with practiced ease.

’Those women from Second Uncle Gu’s family are so damn annoying, hiring people to tail me and get revenge.’

Su Shuochi knew what kind of man Second Uncle Gu was—incompetent, yet always looking for trouble.

During the hardest times, he had avoided hardship by betraying his own family, which showed just how ruthless he was.

Now his wife and daughter had dared to hire people to hurt him. Su Shuochi had no intention of letting today’s incident slide.

They would probably keep causing trouble for his wife, and that was something Su Shuochi would not tolerate.

The real culprits were elsewhere. Since Su Shuochi had already taught these young men a lesson, he decided to let them go.

At the end of the day, they were just a group of pitiful, misguided kids.

"Are you going to leave on your own, or should we call the police to come pick you up and take you to the hospital?"

"Boss—no, sir! If you’re busy, please, just go! Leave us here to rot, just don’t call anyone to come get us."

"Really, sir, you might as well just kill us. Even if there’s no body to be found, at least our families would have our memory to hold onto."

One of the young men said through sobs, "If we go to prison, our neighbors will look down on us for the rest of our lives."

"Yeah, and when they have kids, we’ll be the cautionary tale they tell them."

"’See that kid from down the street? He did bad things and ended up in jail.’ Our names will be cursed for a thousand years! Please, master, spare us!"

Fu Junyuan watched these cowards. At first, he wanted to laugh, but hearing them go on made him feel uneasy.

’When I was on the streets, I never thought like this. These guys actually have a bit of a conscience.’

"Our boss Su is just messing with you," Fu Junyuan said. "He’s a busy man. Where would he find the time to call people to deal with you lot?"

"Hehe, we could tell you were a good person, sir."

"That’s enough. Next time you see us, you walk the other way," Su Shuochi said. Just as he was about to turn and leave, he heard footsteps approaching from behind.

He turned his head and saw several figures in oversized uniforms and wide-brimmed caps walking toward them.

In that moment, Su Shuochi understood. The woman hadn’t just hired thugs to ambush him.

She wanted to get him thrown in a cell to bring shame upon his wife and her family.

’So that was the venomous woman’s real plan.’ A cold sneer touched Su Shuochi’s lips. ’You want to play games?’

’Do you really think I’m that naive?’
